    Looks like a nice bike! Believe you’re starting to get me interested in one! Currently ride a CRF250L for off road and a NC750x for mostly on road and touring use! Like both bikes but the Transalp looks nice as an NC750X replacement somewhere down the road. Really interesting in seeing how it does off road from your perspective! Really have enjoyed your videos and watching you develop as a rider! Very impressed with your progress and wish I could ride half as good as you off road. Been watching you since you first started and really enjoy your content! You keep getting better in that department as well! Love your reviews to as you always on point! Keep it up!

    Hope you love it! Would you mind making a video sharing your thoughts on the Honda ADV trio? You've had the CB500X, Trans Alp, and the Africa Twin, so I think your impressions would be valuable. 100% honesty, what I'd selfishly really like to see and I'm more interested in is a comparison to the CB500X while it's still relatively fresh in your mind. How do you feel the progression would be from the CB500X to the TA?

    I will be a minority in this comment. I'm an older rider and the "tech" available on these new ADV bikes is NOT a consideration in my decision to buy a certain bike. My hope is that all ADV riders ENJOY the ride. My opinion: the "adventure" is the ride/destination...the "adventure" is not riding the motorcycle. I'm "old school" and not a fan of all the tech. BUT younger riders will enjoy the immense amount of tech. On a KLR, DSR650, BMW310GS, Himalayan, there is limited tech to distract you so more time to enjoy the ride. Regardless if you love tech or not, do NOT forget to enjoy and appreciate the ride, the riding experience, and the riding with friends. Ben, your videos are a welcome part to us ADV riders. I want you to know I appreciate all you do - and share - with our community!!!

    Is the transalp kinda like the old Africa twin 750 replacement?

  • @SlowishActual
    @SlowishActual Před 10 měsíci

    As an Africa Twin owner, confusingly the more blue in the P-circle, the lower the throttle input (initially).
    So, a full blue circle meant the least amount of throttle response, where a single blue segment meant the strongest power input.
    It took me several weeks to realize this, despite having the owners manual handy...
    I wonder if they switched these visuals on the new 750?

    maybe you mentioned this and I missed it, but do you know if Honda ever does firmware updates to the TFTs - particularly regarding the reset of TC and ABS on ignition key cycling, or other issues? Dealers must have access to that programming because the European models you can add heated grips and fog lights which are controlled by the left side thumb controller and display in the TFT. Thx Al in Seattle

    too much electronics. Dont get me wrong Honda makes great solid stuff but sometimes less is more. i bought a Norden 901 Expedition that i had on order probably one of the 1st ones in New england early this year in march. I already sold it. It was a great bike alot of power but too much switching of controls and navigating through the menu to get to the right ride mode and traction control or just to switch on the heated grips all to find out that the next time u start the bike nothing saved. I like riding not playing with electronics. I think Yamaha hit it right with the T7 very simple with just ABS control thats all. Yes i understand with the T7 is only 72hp u dont need traction control or ride modes u just ride the dam thing. Too much stuff going on with these dashes all i need to see is RPM, Speed and yes maybe the ambient temp. I have a 24 T7 on order that should be arriving soon.
    Now if Yamaha would just redesign or lighten the Super T or maybe come out with a T9 that was great power and weight they would kill it.

    800de is better for offroad riding. Its Gravel traction control eats the Honda, the engine with its bottom-end torque swallows the Honda, and the phenomenal Suzuki suspension makes the Honda drop in its pants.

      @@marceliszp4803 The TransAlp is an answer to the asks of CB500X owners. They've asked for more power, more suspension, and a bigger front wheel. That's exactly what the TA was made for, but Honda is also not going to put out anything that will risk cannibalizing the Africa Twin sales. If the TA had serious off road chops built in, they'd risk killing the base model Africa Twin sales. Why else would they leave off cruise control on an obvious road biased ADV touring bike? Same reason the US doesn't get the NT1100; it would threaten the Goldwing sales due to the lower price point.
