Wow… just wow! Cheesey, you crushed it with this MOC. I have no regrets being a member because I love seeing these projects come to life.
And I really appreciate the support! This was a pricey one to put together, and you definitely helped make it happen
The scale of this MOC is absolutely incredible. It’s really a testament to your building skills but also your way to tell stories!
Really glad you like it! Thank you ❤️
I love that the boat bobs and wobbles ever-so-slightly as it's rolling on the track - if (when) you manage to find that ideal speed for it, you'll really be able to capture the liveliness of a vessel on voyage as it rolls with the waves!
It does work out perfectly, doesn't it? If I ever did something like this again, I would definitely try and see if I could build in such a mechanism intentionally. I did it with stationary ships for an LM build, and I feel it would be doable for something like this too. :o
@CheeseyStudios I'd almost argue that intentionally going for that mechanism would ruin the subtlety of the illusion, unless if you avoided a more cartoonish or exaggerated motion. I honestly feel like the physics are doing the heavy lifting here, but I'd love to see what you have in mind for something like that someday!
@@CheeseyStudioshaving a front wheel with the axle going through it just off center can give a sort of bobbing motion.
Really encapsulates a monolithic feeling. A lone but almost dauntingly tall spire on a lone island circled by a lone ship. I love the nonsensical nature of the castles architecture and how it's such a hodge-podge. Makes the build have so much character
Thank you! In a world full of LEGO castle MOCs, I do hope this one will be quite memorable. I really enjoyed added the unique setting and colors to this build.
4:02, "having destroyed Rivendell" was one of the most bone chilling sentences ever uttered by a human.
hehe
this series have been one of my favourites recently, and the end result is absolutely gorgeous.
love the cheeky seagull pestering the guard for his food
That's probably my favorite little detail too 🤣 So glad you liked these videos! I'll do something like this again for the next big build too.
This MOC is amazing in person. Viewers, if you get the chance, you must go to BrickWorld Chicago 2024 to see this yourself & visit with these amazing builders.
Seeing Mr. & Mrs. Cheesey Studios at Brick Days was a wonder surprise. Thank you for finding the modified plates, I used them on my ball counter right away.
I made it home at midnight. So, only half of the 7 1/2 hour drive was ice & limited visibility. At least home was dry.
Glad you are home safe! That had to be the unluckiest night to be stuck on the road. Happy to have made it back too!
This MOC is so beautiful! The regular green really pops. I love it 🎉🎉
Thank you! I'm really glad you like it.
Pirates and Castles are the first things I remember with Lego, this a beautiful modern take on both!
Yes! I had a big pirates fix last year and I love how that inspired the direction of this build (please bring back pirates, LEGO)
Honestly one of the best you’ve built. Almost rivals the Minecraft Ohio plains
To puff out the sails, I recommend looking at techniques that model ship builders use. I saw one person cover each sail with a layer of thinned glue, then hang it from the corners and put pie weights in the center to make it dry in a puffed out shape.
Model ship builders also add fun details like tassels that you might want to consider. As always, love the build!
That's a great idea honestly. I'll look into that! Thank you!
Castle bro really living up to his name. This project has been fantastic. Your creativity is inspiring, to say the least.
Really appreciate it ❤️
I've been watching this series plus every single Minecraft world build/video and it never fails to amaze me how you manage to fit so much detail in these builds! great job!
With 100% honesty this is one of my favorite mocs I’ve ever seen
That's high praise indeed! I'm so glad you like it. Thank you!
loved getting to display this in Omaha
What a wonderful finish. Those little details just made this build so special and wonderful, the ship those gorgeous palm trees just it all furnishes the castle beautifully. You’ve certainly lived up to your title as Castle bro and this has to be one of my utmost favourite of your mocs, exceptional job Caleb, and this format reads worked and I’d love to see it return!
Ay, thank you!
At the beginning of this series I thought everything was going to be waaaaay smaller. Really, I didn't think this MOC would be this huge and most importantly TALL.
And I love how mediterranean/tropical the castle is, rather than classic medieval n.n
Now, we need a video of a... tour? around the island with lovely takes of the details and chill music :3
Definitely hoping to do one last video on it! Maybe I'll even be able to take it up to the proper college studio and get some really cool shots...
Lime green would look better on the palm trees or at least mixed in with the normal green. All and all the build looks fantastic!!
Glad you like it!
It turned out so well!! And the captain's quarters looks absolutely amazing!
Thank you! I'm so happy with how the ship came together too
😮 The final result looks incredible, love all of the foliage
I absolutely loved seeing the creative process of creating this incredible model. This is by far one of my favourite series that you have every done. Well done.
I'm glad you like it so much! I'll have to do something like this for future MOCs
I actually jumped for joy at the news that you were bringing this to Brick Days (which I was already planning on going to) I can't wait to see this incredible build in person!
Just fantastic. Love the Mediterranean look.
Thank you! I really enjoyed working with the colors here.
The techniques used in the boat are absolutely fantastic. Great job nailed it again.
Thank you!
Can’t wait for Brickworld, this is going to be a sight to behold! Hope I’ll be there to witness it, great work and loved the casual series approach!
So happy that I got to see this in person!
I am astonished. This is one of the best mocs I have ever seen. Fantastic job
Thank you!
As much as I enjoy your method of doing set reviews, especially of older sets that I remember from my youth, the sheer love and care you put into every single MOC you make fills me with an unfettered joy ^^
I hope to see you do more of them in the future - the Minecraft Biomes series is what drew me to your channel, and this MOC has been my favorite series in addition to it. Maybe something in a Space or Underwater theme? I bet you'd make an *awesome* spaceship or submarine dock, or a mining station of some kind - ooh, maybe an Underground type theme, akin to the Rock Raiders or Power Miners themes? Idunno, but whatever you make, it'll continue to inspire awe and ideas~!
Thank you! I'm so glad you've enjoyed watching this come together. I'm not sure what my next 'big build' will be, but I love the ideas!
This MOC is beautiful!
The ship is great, dark blue and gold go along well with the reddish brown
The castle is amazing, I like the colors and the details
Well done!
It would be cool if you added some easter eggs
Thank you! I'm hoping I can add some more fun details before Chicago
it amazes me how someone becomes a builder like this. just wow
Lots of practice, and then talking to other builders! That's all there really is to it :)
4:02 Cheesey studios is so powerful he just casually achieves one of Sauron's dreams.
hehehehe
I absolutely love the way this is turning out. I still think that the olive ivy growing up the wall needs a couple bits of green blended with the olive to help make it look alive and not dried and dead and maybe a bird or two nesting in it. That ship look fantastic and I think really compliments the castle.
Thank you! I'm still interested in exploring some options with the plants too. Good news is that there's still plenty of time, and hopefully I'll find that perfect solution yet!
The automation is awesome! Really came together!
Thank you! So glad you like it
Well done! Was nice to watch the build process over the past 8 episodes
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed
This whole process has been so cool to watch!
Thanks for tuning in! I'm excited to do this style of series for future MOCs
Such an inspiring build! The ship turned out great!
Thank you! Once I get those sails properly puffed out, I think it's going to look reeeeally sweet. :o
Looks absolutely amazing! Its been wonderful getting to see the progress of this build.
Thank you!
I absolutely love this! It's awesome to see some non-minecraft, well detailed mocs of yours! Not to undermine the complexities of the Minecraft world- but it is, after all, just a bunch of a cubes from the outside.
This was such a great project to work on, and definitely a breath of fresh air from the Minecraft stuff! It's really funny to see though how my extended involvement with the LEGO Minecraft world has effected how I build.
I really like how the smaller palm trees look with the new fern pieces :)
It's such a great piece! Always love some new plants
Dude, this is super professional. SUPER impressive MOC, well done!!!
Thank you! ❤️
this is such a great moc from detail, colour, scale, techniques, figures and more
Thank you ❤️
Absolutely stunning. Enjoy your time in Omaha. Nice city.
Thank you! My wife has family there, so it's always a good time. Very much looking forward to it!
Fantastic; it’s a beautiful work of art!
Thank you! ❤️
this is such a gorgeous build! the blue and gold of the captain's quarters are the perfect color
speaking of the ship, you could secure the bottoms of the sails to a horizontal crossbeam, just like the top, mounted higher than the max length of the sails, to make them billow out a little.
That's a good and easy solution honestly - I might have to do that! Appreciate it!
Every little detail is so beautiful! Good job Cheesey, I hope to see even more stuff like this from you :D
Thank you! I've gotta start thinking about what to do next. :o
Really like this castle and color choices!
Thanks! I had so much fun with the colors on this one
This is LEGO art! Beautiful! You must have a background in art/design to be so good at shape language and colors.
Beautiful, it looks amazing and I'm so happy to see it done. I hope to see more of similar projects from you in the future😁🤩
I'll always be cooking up something, ha! Glad I could take everyone along on the adventure
Amazing build🎉, if you’re still wondering how to make those sails puffed out, I’d recommend the channel Moc Your Bricks - he does really good custom lego ships and most of his builds have custom rigging, I have personally built one of his designs. And it looks great.
Sweet! I'll definitely check him out. Thanks for the recommendation!
Im so happy you will be at Omaha Brick Days! I love that convention. I can't go this year though.... big sad.
Awww 😭 Any chance you can make it to Chicago?
Not sure yet! Hopefully!
Such an amazing build. Can’t wait to see it at Brickworld
Thank you! Brickworld is gonna be so epic. Can't believe how close it's getting...
So glad to see it done, it looks amazing!
Appreciate it!
This is pure work of art congratulations !!
Thank you! ❤️
It’s been a mild winter here… meanwhile Wisconsin gets hit with 4 inches… love the build! Keep up the good work!
I'm scared to look out my window this morning lol - they're predicting snow now all weekend! 😩
Was awesome to see it in person today your work is awesome
So glad you got to see it!
Really epic castle, can't wait to see it at BW. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it grow in this videos, thanks for sharing that process!
It was my pleasure! Glad you enjoyed this little series
What a glory! Amazing work👏
Thank you!
Man, this thing is IMPRESSIVE Cheesey!!
Appreciate it! I'm so happy with how it came out too
Looks absolutely amazing!!!
Thank you! ❤️
this series has been so fun to watch! I hope you keep doing MOCs that aren't just Minecraft. Also I'm pretty excited to see this at Brickworld!
Don't worry, always something new to come! :)
Congrats, Caleb! It looks awesome! Everything really comes together quite well. I really like how the it all turned out in the end. The ship is amazing and the foliage adds so much to the build! I'd love go to a convention to see it, but that's kinda difficult for me right now. But if you ever wind up bringing it to say, Scranton or Philly or somewhere else near central PA, I will be sure to try to drop everything to go. Its such a great MOC, really inspiring as always. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
Can’t wait to see it person at the Chicago show!
It's gonna be epic!
Best looking lego pirate ship I have seen!
Thank you! I'm so happy with how it turned out too
This came along great I enjoyed this whole entire series of you building it everything is just spot on and cool looking
Thank you!
This has been my favorite video series of yours.
I'm so glad you've enjoyed it! I'll certainly be using the same style for any future big MOCs I do.
Hi Caleb! I was so glad to meet you today at the convention. It really made me happy and I’m glad I got to see your Moc. Amazing and incredible. As usual lol.😊
I can't wait to see this at Brickworld Chicago
Ayyy! Glad you'll be there. I'm super excited to be able to bring it!
Looks very impressive, well done!!
Thank you! Cheers!
It looks really good, and I think the ship is going at a good speed, and you don’t need to mess with it too much.
That's honestly very reassuring! I'm glad you like it
Loved binging this short but sweet series (in comparison to the minecraft playlist at least www), end product captures a more childlike wonder and creativity than I had anticipated. Loving it!
Really glad you enjoyed!
Nice was very cool to see it come together it looks very nice.
So glad you like how it came out!
That is awesome!!!
I'm really glad you like it!
Dude! Yes! I'll see you and this wonderful moc at Brickworld Chicago!
Ayyy, awesome! Looking forward to meeting you!
Absolutely amazing!!! I wanna live in it so bad!
Ha! I was definitely thinking of my dream home a bit as I built this 😂
It looks excellent!
Thank you!
Looks awesome!
Thank you!
Looks amazing! Looking forward to seeing it in Chicago
Thank you! Chicago is gonna be epic
Absolutely stunning. One of the coolest MOCs I’ve seen. If you want a minor suggestion adding some texture/color variation to the cliffs (using some of the studs you left out already) could look amazing - some simple stuff like a round tile 1x1 trans green could look like moss, or you could obviously get more creative than that
Thank you! I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks for the suggestion!
projects like this from you are so inspiring and make you really the best lego content creator out there! absolutely love this work!
Thank you so much
This is fantastic!
Thank you!
man this is huge! The castle looks amazing man love the colours and the weathering with the textured bricks. Love to see the many figs populating it. Boat looks great love the colour man. Amazing work mind blown no wonder you were on Lego masters
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it. ❤️
This came out amazing 🤩
Ay, thanks! 🙏 Hopefully you'll get to see it in Chicago!
This is awesome!
Thank you! ❤️
Congratulations 🎉😊
MOC is looking great and I love the boat, you could stain the fabric for the sails to give them a more worn look
That's a good idea! I'll definitely be revisiting the sails before Chicago
Stunning and magnificent! Thanks for bringing us along as you built this! (Zero puns!)
No puns? 😳 Seriously though, thank you!
You could dye the sails with coffee to give them a used look.
But don’t make them completely brown only a light brown.
And it could help the creases show up better
That's a good idea!
Gorgeous
Wow it looks amazing! I wish I was able to go see it in person. Great work as always :)
Thank you! I wish I could take it to more shows. It's just such a pain to transport lol...
Love how this turned out!! The little details like the lights, animals and trees really add a ton of life to this. Not to mention the ships motion. This will be quite the crowd pleaser at conventions! The scale and verticality of the whole moc are inspiring. Keep it up, I love these kind of behind the scenes moc videos!
I just saw this build at a convention today and it is epic in person, good job on it.
I was with you we took that picture together
Thank you! I'm so glad you were able to make it
There is nothing 'unprofessional' about the quality and design of the MOC, I think it is amazing. I especially love the color choices and careful mix of indented and integrated into the wall towers. The ship turned out really well too, I was wondering if there was an interior, but I guess for displaying it on a large event and having to house the battery pack and lights, there isn't a lot need for it, nor is there a lot of room left.
Even if it can take a lot of time it is always extremely nice to see something finished. There are quite a few number of series (mostly from small creators) that have had excellent potential but then at some point they stop posting updates or scrap the project altogether. I'm always happy to see when this is not the case, hopefully many LEGO enthusiasts will see this series in a playlist for years to come, paying you back a little for the time you put in, but also be a small special project for people to enjoy. Lego is about giving really ;)
Thanks for posting the update!
It's been my pleasure! This was such a fun project, and I'm really happy I could see it through in a reasonable amount of time. Can't wait to start the next one.
its so beautiful
Thank you!
It feels like the sails would definitely look better if their corners weren't rounded off!
Ship sails traditionally have sharp angles on the bottom corners, due the the rigging. the roundness of yours make them look a bit odd, though that's just my opinion. Also if you decided to then rig them to the hull, it would maybe give them more shape, which you said you want. Love everything else!
Interesting! I'll definitely have to consider that for next time. It does make sense. I was mostly basing them off official LEGO sails, which I should have known aren't terribly realistic haha
Noooo. I had a work trip come up keeping me from going to Omaha Brick Days this weekend. Come back next year!
Aw! It's been a good time so far, so hopefully I can come by next year.
Looks amazing now that its finished. A suggestion since I won't be in Omaha or Chicago anytime soon, it would be really cool to see a ring of motorized war in conjunction with the ship so it isn't sailing over track pieces. Don't know if it would even be doable, but I think it'd look cool. Great as is tho for sure.
Unfortunately it's just too late at this point 😪
To shape the sails you could carve foam into the shape you would like each sail to be, then lay the sail down on the foam and spray starch on it, should hold the shape and if you go light will still look soft
That's smart! I'll have to look into that :o
Maan, this IS a certified MOC!
Cheesy nothing has impressed me more than your Minecraft series but this might have topped it
Oh cheesey- it's amazing! This one beautiful castle if I ever saw one! Good luck on the ship speed tho
Thank you! Really glad you like it. Hopefully I can slow it down just a bit more. It doesn't need to be crazy slow, but a believable speed would be nice xD
