Finally got to do this bus trip. Always wanted to visit once. The road between Tirupati to Tirumala is very good and the scenery is incredibly beautiful. The distance between Tirupati and Tirumala is approximately 22 kilometers. This journey takes around 40 mins to one hour. There are back to back buses from Tirupati to Tirumala and vice versa. You can catch buses from Tirupati Central Bus Stand & Sri Balaji bus stand as well. The bus fare for the Sapthagiri express bus is rupees 90 and rupees 160 two way. Whereas the electric bus fare is Rs. 110. The route is really scenic and you will enjoy the journey. You will always have back-to-back buses and you can travel as per your convenience. The bus from Tirumala will drop you at Tirupati bus stand & also at Tirupati Railway station. There is a total of 36 hairpin bends on this route.
Both ghat roads are double lane type, follow different paths along the hills. The old ghat road was laid in 1944, other was opened in 1974. Old ghat road route is used for vehicles from Tirumala to Tirupati and new ghat road is from Tirupati to Tirumala. The starting point of the road to go up Tirumala hills is Alipiri and it is overlooked by an immense statue of Garuda in an anjili pose. Each road is approximately 19 km in length and has more than 36 hair pin bends. It takes 40 minutes to reach top Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.
Sri Venkateswara Swami Vaari Temple is a Hindu temple situated in the hill town of Tirumala at Tirupati in Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The Temple is dedicated to Venkateswara, a form of Vishnu, who is believed to have appeared on the earth to save mankind from trials and troubles of Kali Yuga. Hence the place has also got the name Kaliyuga Vaikuntha and the Lord here is referred to as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam. The temple is also known by other names like Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Temple and Tirupati Balaji Temple. Venkateswara is known by many other names: Balaji, Govinda, and Srinivasa.

Isn't APSRTC looting passengers by charging 110/- for just 22 kms .. In Pune PMPML operates same bus with cost of 20-30 rs for 20 kms ..how could PMPML operates with such fares and APSRTC cannot ?
