"BASTARDS" LYRICS
Yesterday I told my sons "sometimes the bad guys win"
And that it made me scared about the world that we live in
But I had to reassure them that it wouldn’t be for long
Sons we have to be ourselves
We have to be strong
I said “boys you are the future, so let this be a lesson
There may come a day you have to fight off their aggression”
Cause fear and hatred won today, the darkness ate the light
But both you look in my eyes, it’ll be alright
In every step you take
I'm with you all the way
Cause I would die for you
To do what’s right for you
In hopes that when I’m gone
You’ll carry on these words I wrote for you
Till then…
I’ll sing
Stand your ground
Don’t let the bastards grind you down
Be bold, be strange
Don’t let their fears make you afraid
There’s hope, they’ll change
Well I looked out to the world today, thought "what a bloody mess!”
They stripped our morals from us, put 'em under house arrest
And "liberty" and "country" are the words they need to speak
A little “god,” a little “freedom,” if we don’t agree, we're weak
And every politician stood there idle and so smug
Empowering the racists and 2nd Amendment thugs
Wall St. and the billionaires, convinced us they’re so smart
Saying “vote with your wallet, instead of with your hearts!”
But we won’t go away!
You won’t forget our name!
The pussy generation, the PC and the brave
The protesters that slink along the streets of misery
And so…
I’ll sing
Stand your ground
Don’t let the bastards grind you down
Be bold, be strange
Don’t let their fears make you afraid
There’s hope, they’ll change
We’ll change
Change
No, no, no, no, no (FUCK NO!)
No, no, no, no, no (FUCK NO!)
No, no, no, no, no (FUCK NO!)
So give us all your faggots, all your niggas, and your spics
Give us all your Muslims, your so-called terrorists
We’ll welcome them with open arms, and put ‘em in our mix
We’re better off together now, embrace our difference
Remember there is love!
Our words can stop their guns
Forget the rednecks
Living in the past
We’re never going back now, we've reached critical mass
And so…
I’ll sing
Stand my ground
Won’t let the bastards grind me down
I’m bold, I’m strange
Won’t let their fears make me afraid
There’s hope, they’ll change

I love the comments that are basically mirroring what the song directly talks about
This song has spoken to me since the first day I heard it. At the time my sons were teenagers. The election that year was polarizing for us all. Bastards spoke to my heart that this next generation, their generation would be the ones to change the world. In WI last night, Gen Z stood up for what is right. In Nashville this week, Gen Z stood up for themselves. These kids are a new breed and I'm so proud of them. They are doing it, they are standing their ground and succeeding.
So much love in this song. I will stand my ground and I will never let the bastards grind me down.
Listening this song in my car… My 8 years old son is sitting next to me… He asks me about the meaning of the lyrics…. I started to translate to hungarian language… than my throat blocks and my eyes get wet… So I thighten his hand and I promiss: „In every step you take I'm with you all the way Cause I would die for you To do what’s right for you”
I was a Machine Head fan from the beginning, and now I become more!!! Thank you Rob for this unforgettable experience!!!
What a load of bollocks.

That didn't happen so much it unhappened things that did happen.
The Intro reminds me of the Water Level in Super Mario 64.
Hopefully with the right drowning in it
It does sound like jolly rodger bay
@@crawfish19 Hitting me in the 90s childhood nostalgia feels.

It's funny how the only time people say to keep politics out of music is when they disagree with the politics....
Fuck the left

don't let their fears make you afraid

The intro reminds me of an electric guitar rendition of the national anthem. The lyrics and message are powerful and drive the song as it builds. Beautiful tears are what I cried listening to this anthem of a generation. Thank you Robb, Dave, Phil and Jared. The Machinehead catalog has been my sound track from adolescence to adulthood.
It sounds nothing like the national anthem
Congrats Machine Head on having your own Lulu.
St. Anger is a fairer comparison tbh
Jeremy Sanchez why are you comparing this album to a Lou Reed album?
I'd rather listen to Lulu than this.
Lulu was a colab album !
Jeremy Sanchez More like St Anger
I don't care what everyone thinks, feels, perceives or judges. Why do most say "this isn't machine head"...this is by definition machine head. They are a band, who have the freedom to do whatever they want! There is no 'machine head sound'. They just are, let them be who they wanna be and make the music they wanna make.
I somewhat agree, in that MH can do whatever they want. They've been around the block and paid their dues (I use the term "They've" loosely, because it's mostly Robb in reference to MH due to the lineup changes).
However, this song (IMO) is just bad, bad, bad.
If he wanted to keep it simple, then fine... but THAT chord progression? Really?!?!
And though I approve of the message, it sounds like it was written by an angry twelve year old... not a 50+ year old man.
Some gravitas please, at least.
No. This sucks balls.
This song plays the truth over and over... It seems like there will always be darkness in humanity 😶
This gets fire going in me. Be strong, be true. Defend the weak
This song is fucking gay
@JohnACorp782 I know but don't let the bastards grind you down.
@JohnACorp782 no u you fucking piece of garbage. this song is purely a positive movement.

Flynn wasn't kidding when he said don't expect a heavy album.......
You've not heard the rest of the album... there's one track even lighter but the rest are damn heavy!
That's perfectly okay.
Iain Purdie How have you heard the full album?
I have heard the rest of the released material from the album, I really dig Catharsis and Beyond the Pale. This track to me for some reason gives me a really Flogging Molly charm to it especially at the end that I dig big time. A really grab the person next to you grab your pint raise it in the air and sing with me in the pub everyone happy and together brother and sister vibe and I understand what Flynn is saying here. Since Locust which is a total Rager! of an album that has NO bad songs on it and an absolutely praise worthy follow up to the Blackening the material has gotten further from the heavier Machine Head style. I saw Machine Head both times on the Killer and Kings tour when they came to my area totally CRUSHING SHOWS at Irving Plaza NYC and The Paramount NY. I love Machine Head and will always see them when they come around my area I'm an absolute Head Case for life! But this sort of direction I think should be re-thought by the band after this album. I'm ready for a Blackening 2. World tour with 3 to 4 opening bands lighting and production out of the wazoo in small intimate venues. It's really time Machine Head are put on the pedestal where they belong with the greats and a tour like that would do it. Blackening 2 was really my hopes and expectations going into hearing that they were in the studio before anything was released or talked about over a year ago about this new album especially given the political climate/tension in America right now which historically has shown that it produces great music and how clearly Flynn feels about whats going on. When this song was originally posted as a video on the MH youtube of just him playing this song, his General Journals which everyone should read if you don't already really fascinating reads I really expected a Blackening 2. Heavy, Groovy, Insane in your face drum heavy production, old school 90's angry Flynn vocals on a 13 track epic of an album. I' am totally ready for that shit but It really doesn't seem like were getting it at least yet with Catharsis, maybe I'm wrong and it's at least another MH classic rager of an album or exactly that in a 15 track rager since the album is 15 tracks long lol. I really don't know what to expect with the rest of the album which is very unlike every other MH album of past and that really excites me and I'am excited to hear the rest of the album and hope I will be pleasantly surprised! BUT feel its time for Machine head to bring the shred back as ST Dime said to Demmel when he joined MH with another classic like The Blackening. I look forward to receiving my box set of Catharsis in the mail but I'm so ready for the MH equivalent to ...and Justice for All. Robb I look forward to meeting you again at the Playstation theater soon! MH RUILES!!!
Wait for the rest of the album ;)
Be bold be strange/don’t let their fears make you afraid
To all the haters, he's just using the hateful names to identify that we are are all brothers and sisters now. I figured "were better off together" should have covered that.
Boy.. this is fucking risky.
You can tell Rob doesn't give a fuck if he alienates people with his opinion, he wants to get it out no matter what anyone thinks.
This might require a few listens before I can really form a proper opinion on it.
HGCentral yes, by agreeing with the vast majority of media, Hollywood, half of politics, and almost every first world country other than pretty much the US and a few eastern European countries
Makis, you may wonder why so many people agree with this view, maybe because its true.
Viktor Adam: Popular opinion doesn't equate to true. MSM has a bias and an agenda, looks like Robb glued his face too much to television.
ohh the mainstream media oh noooo. I live in a country that has beta version of Trump for 8 years now, being more and more full of himself, tyrannical, corrupt, oppressive and paranoid year by year. His layman gains wealth faster than Mark Zuckerberg. The "mainstream" media tell the truth about him, of course their fan base ignore them as libtard lies. (see the coincidences?). Of course everyone has an agenda in politics, left wing and right wing media too. Trump and his blind followers still remain a problem.
Also I don't need mainstream media to see what kind of destructive things happening around the world. It's enough to read some comment sections, watch some videos, speak with people etc.
I play this song OVER AND OVER....Rob those lyrics give me goosebumps. Never heard a better song🤘🤘🤘
There must have been an ice cream truck passing the studio when they were recording this.

I'm not saying remake The Blackening but Clenching and Farewell to Arms are how you write political songs with impact.
I’ve been with machine head since the beginning. I love this song. It’s passionate. So many of you lack that. It’s sad. Keep rockin MFNH!!!!
Let freedom ring with a slam poem blast!
Let the freedom ring with a love blasst

I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me.
@Ryder Nikolas instablaster :)
I found a machine head song I like for once and apparently the community reaction is the exact opposite xD
Politically I am almost entirely opposed to the band but I like to see anyone take a genuine stand for what they believe. First amendment should hold no bias!
I’ll tell ya this the only machine head song liked before I actually started to like them was from this day and that song is either loved or hated by fans cause that was when they turned nu metal 😂
Respect, mate.
honestly, I actually like this song musically, but the lyrics reek of democrat elitism.
Fr I cringed so hard the entire time listening to the lyrics after 3:44
You see this is the type of people that we need... we don’t need people to think alike, we need people who are okay to agree to disagree but still respect one another.
My friend, always remember no matter what we’re all human and are entitled to our own opinions and despite your beliefs we’ll get along as humans!
Respect my guy! ✊🏽
Bands evolve and individually any artist who has a career as long as Rob's means he's gonna explore different styles of music, just because a band release an album everyone loves doesnt mean theyve then gotta start trying to recreate the same shit over n over, this is clearly from the heart and it's what Rob was feeling at the time, he isn't there to please every fan with every song, that's impossible, he's an artist and puts out his art, if you don't like it, don't listen to it, it's pretty simple. Personally i think this is great, sums up shit in the world at the moment
thanks for the insight Hitman. What national / international band or radio program are you part of again?
I think this was really well said, I totally agree.
1000% well said.. forst comment was cheesy.. as if a raido station would have the balls to play this.
I LOVE this song.. Speaks volumes about today's world
Most of what it speaks about is the egocentrism of urban democrats like Rob
@@TrueChaoSclx feel free to show yourself the door
Guys, MH are composed of 4 adults, who have their own opinion and have the right to have their own opinion. Also, they have the right to make their own music. They make music because they want to put their own feelings in it. That is the most important, even everyone should bloody well learn to respect that! Bastards is just a song about a political stance. Stop whining about it, and go listen to something else if you don't like it!
LOVE IT @ 3:20 I got Shivers!!! Welcome Back MH1!!
I don't care what the song is about, that it's composed of "four chords that made a million" (Nod to Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree) , and that it's hated so much. I simply love this song!
Sounds like pub music for St Paddy's Day.
a good one
...suppose x)
Exactly my thoughts!! It's getting me thirsty already
pub music is better than this.
There are bits that sound like a Dropkick Murphy's song. Not necessarily a bad thing, just an interesting direction.
Ya it's cool they are trying something different. Wish it was something less Folky but that's just personal preference. Not a big Mumford and Sons fan. YEEEESSSHHHH
I keep coming back to this because it's stuck in my head. I think it's growing on me.
Dude, it's literally been stuck in my head for two week. Unlike any other song has ever been. Literally wake up with it in my head. Took a couple listens but now I totally love it.
stuck with me too...like aids
Fuck yeah, Machine Head. This is the essence of metal and rock'n'roll. Making music that pisses off the people that need to be pissed off.
Spot on dude!!!!!
The fuck are you on? This is hardly counter culture. This is the popular culture... essentially just pop music that sounds metal-esque. That’s hardly what the metal and rock movement was about.
Hahaha! Sounds like its counter enough to your expectations that you're on here whining. So I guess they are doing a fine job doing what metal is about.
Whining? Hardly, I'm just telling you how it is, like it is. No ab-homonyms, no insults and in general no real care in the world whether or not this band succeeds... I'm simply stating, they've lost their edge and most likely their general direction as well. As a previous comment poster said "This sounds like the band recorded their mid life crisis.".
You see, buddy the thing i realize is, if i don't like a piece of music i just go and find other music, there is so much out there that there is no real point for me to complain too terribly much, i just want people to know that this is very contradictory to the bands' previous works.
It sounds like a bunch of whining, especially when you lead with a personal attack wondering what the fuck I'm on. Seems like its the definition of counter culture if it is not what you expect based on previous works. No one really gives a damn about what you want them to know.
It seems I'm in the minority based on the comments, but this was one of my favourites on the album.
Finally, somebody is more open minded about music! I salute you
The intro reminds me of the ice cream man that passed by my neighborhood when I was a kid
"The band I like is putting out different sounding music, wahhhhh". Seriously? I like the different stuff. Don't hate on them for trying something different. Keep at it guys \m/
Everyone worried about the direction of the band and jumping ship. it's just one song that sounds like this. So just relax the rest of the album will still sound like MH.
It's one thing to be political, it's another to sound whiny.
The other two songs were pretty awful too.
I haven't heard a new song yet that I like... I like every other MH song from the first note till the last, since the beginning of MH. Bloodstone and Diamonds was already ...meeehhh... but so far this albums is just ..nooooooooo!!
The other singles are also fucked up, such a shame🙁
I’m more on board than ever
I find it interesting how so many "fans since 94" want to jump ship as soon a a song or two come out that they don't like. Machine Head have around 90 original songs that have been released on albums with about 90% of those being widely respected and adored by metal fans. But there is a vocal minority who love to act like the 2 or 3 songs they don't like accurately represent the band, and that they are selling out, or pushing political agendas, or whining. Great "fans" you are! If you liked MH in 94 it was because they were singing about political subjects, about the world and carving their own path. Guess what?? They are still doing it and nothing has changed!! Machine Fuckin Head!
You said it all! Respect to you Sir!
We recognise that and that is why we recognise that this song is total fucking cancer
Its too bad that you were forcibly held down and made to listen to cancer. I can't imagine how this has affected you. Would you like to talk about it? Oh, wait, I am too busy. I need to go over to Gojira's youtube channel to listen to their music and leave comments about how much I hate it.
^ lol. Or, god-for-fuckin-bid, Attila. Machine Head are the Kings of thrash. Undisputed. Be there anyone who wishes to challenge that title, let them rear their head and be smitten. They have always given their fans the thrash they desire and always, each and every album, have managed to throw in a great song (or more sometimes), that expresses their core beliefs in some manner or another. If you don't respect this song and it's core meaning, all political stances aside, then maybe you should reevaluate your status as a fan of music in general. If you need an explanation, just convert to modern hip-hop. We true fans of lyric and tone are better off without you and your shallow minds.
It's a beautiful song
Personally I have been playing this constantly since first hearing it, and it still gives me goosebumps. Keep being yourselves Machine Head, its why I became a fan back in the 90's and its why I still eagerly look forward to everything you produce. If you just reel out the same tired shite I just wouldn't still be a fan.
All the love to you guys.
Except this wasn't MH 'being themselves'. The only person in the band that wanted this song on the album was Robb, and that's because he had basically turned MH into a solo project.
God forbid people give a shit in their music anymore, right?
Holy shit, thanks dad.
I love it. I like when bands take chances, whether it pans out or not, they're not scared to try something different. As a guitar player, you can only play the same styles over and over until you need something new. I guess nobody likes their acoustic version of Darkness Within because it's too wimpy?
Man I love how much this good song pisses people off KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MH
Punk still lives
I refuse to accept that this is the same band that released Unto the Locust
Blame Robb, who decided to go the SJW route, and in the process, drive MH into the ground. It's because of shitty done like this that half the band quit.
This is way better you fucking BASTARD! ^^
Accept it dweeb.

Then shit went down. Sounds like some out of control madman that somehow managed to remain positive. And I mean that in a good way. The song was a total curveball, but still I enjoyed it.
Yeah, Rob, keep up the great work, there are people who keep their fingers crossed for you, the whole time you create, from the beginning... I was at your concert in the Czech Republic in 1994, when you played as a Slayer backing band, I've been watching your band ever since and hold on keep going, because with your work you give people what they need now ... the feeling that it's worth fighting that we're not alone in that shit! Thanks!
His is an important, inspiring voice. The fact that it's controversial points to how necessary it is.

I used to play this song for my oldest son when it was just him and I out and about . 18 months ago the bad guys won, and he is gone.
Sorry man, horrible world… horrible people.
I think I'll go watch Machine Head live at Dynamo 1995...
Same 😂
Nice welschap
After reading the comments, I think Robb might be onto something with those lyrics.
Insulting some of your fans for having a different political opinion and crying about an election is not a good idea. The fans have a right to be pissed off for these terrible lyrics and pathetically conveyed message

Definitely seems contradictory, you'd be better off making the point that Flynn publicly took back the statement "let freedom ring..." and said they wouldn't play it live anymore after one of the public shootings in the US (I can't remeber which one)
@@Drood. Yes I remember him saying it; however, they are still different cases and you laid them out perfectly. I don't see how you're not seeing the difference.

2 yrs later and I was thinking the same thing.
It's Machine Head! If they played near anyone of you, you'd be first at the door. I can't wait to hear this live and watch everyone sing every tune from this album
note to self: political pandering will not only alienate 50% of your fans, it will also have consequential album sales...
Honestly I think this is such an important song. The die hard machine head fans who are calling this song weak or shit need to fucking get over themselves. You can hear Rob pouring out his heart in this song. You can hear his frustration, desperation, and anger at America and society at large! This is art, pure and simple. It may not be classic machine head, but it's a message that needed to be said, and I couldn't think of a better way to say it. Machine head have always been a band for those who felt alone. It's always had political influence. And I feel this song will help a lot of people who need it, and for the die hard machine head fans to say it's stupid, or shit, when it's so clearly a message of acceptance and welcoming of all, just does my head in. The machine head fans are so proud of how friendly they are, and how they'll always welcome in new fans, yet I feel like if someone said they really liked this song, they'd say "you're not a real machine head fan" and dissmiss them.
Art should comfort the disturbed, and disturbe the comfortable. And it seems that the "true machine fucking head" fans, are disturbed by this song. Funny that.
@Reality you do not even understand your username
@Reality www.bbvaopenmind.com/en/articles/muslims-in-europe-the-construction-of-a-problem/ go read that negative one
@Reality also you should respect everyone regardless of religion, there are a lot of good people in there too ya know.
@Reality also, to try to subdue them causes hate, which leads to violence, so right wont work either.
@Reality from that article, take the following quote as an example: Happily enough, many Muslims are fighting their way into European societies and gradually integrating their norms. Many success stories of Muslims in all sectors, from economy to culture, provide ample proof that there is no Muslim fatality. Muslims with higher education and higher wages-like the 300.000 Arabs of the Middle East residing in London or the Lebanese expatriates in Paris-do not live in segregated communities and are well integrated in society. Unfortunately, the bulk of Muslims in Europe are labour migrants or sons of labour migrants who are badly equipped to better integrate into European societies, not because of Islam, but because of their socio-economic condition.
This is the sound of all your bandmates quitting on you
I honestly don't understand peoples hate for this song. Guess I'm in the minority with this one.
I'm with ya. I bet some alt-right site brought the brigade
Me neither man... Its sad to see the people hate on such an amazing piece of music. Of course, its only 4 chords. And the message has been brought to us 1000 times already. But still, its OK to listen to "simpler" forms of music. It doesnt always have to be hardcore deathmetal shredding all the time. This song has literally brought me to tears 50% of the time I listened to it. I love how he wrote it, I love the story behind the lyrics (the conversation with his family), I love the message (obviously) and i just love the song in general. And i just dont understand what people have against it. To me, its a beautiful piece of music and I dont care what other people say.
its a great track, i dont need to hear a math paper.. i like real substance here and there.
Nochtic Reading all the trolls comments on this video it's easy to see how a bigot like Trump got elected.
Sad, very sad! This is what we had 2 world wars for? I guess ignorance and hatred will always find it's way back in to society.
Actually I prefer Trump to Clinton and I know I'll get a lot of shit for that, but I can still understand everyone's resentment for him. Trust me there are things I don't agree with. But I'm not going to attack someone for having a differing opinion.
I don't understand why people hate this song that much or hating Machine Head for making that song ? I loooove the song and I love how Rob sounds !!
I pity the haters, wannabe tough guy keyboard warriors ahaha! Good luck Robb & co, really looking forward to what the follow up to Catharsis will sound like
I’ve been a fan of their older and mid-career stuff for years. The Blackening, TTAOE, BME, TMTC, etc. I could never understand why they received so much hate amongst the metal community. “Their riffs and songwriting are badass!” I would say. Finally I decided to give this a listen… wow. It’s sad to think that this is all most people probably think of when they hear the name Machine Head.
In the USA metal is often related to fascism, lack of education, hate and trumpery. In the rest of the world, Metal is about free thinking, individuality, personal strength, intelligence and rationalism. You dislike their messages because you are a Yank and so you've been marinaded in bigotry and hate and fear since birth. But thats not the normality for the rest of the civilised world.
Its funny how much hate this song gets because this is one of a handful of MachineHead songs that actually got me into ALL of their music
Obviously, this tune is about the message, and they said it well. Respect!
I love every album you guys have done. I appreciate that this is different, it's just not for me. Still love you guys and will still be a fan, I hope this album isn't your last.
Mark Fry Ditto!
you speak for me as well.
This might be the best Machine Head song yet. Well done boys.
And everyone on the train clapped
Yall trippin this song is amazingly good
i have a bad temper to 2 people at my school and it go like this most of the time:' why are drumming while you just punched me me: uhhh nothing '' like this song has helped me
I don't listen to Machine Head but this song is just great. It's got more heart than any of the other songs off this album. You people just listen to patterns, you clearly don't know or appreciate the band.
Love. You
This song makes me feel too much to put into words. Not even American pride. Beyond that. Pride of being human. Together. I could die to this song with no regrets. Its just so beautiful.
I'm baffled that Machine Head managed to make the exact same career misstep for a second time.
Zeke Iddon This is worse. They basically went as political as possible too. Lol
I think half of the record will be good, and the other half will just blow hard.
Ok... I'm gonna go listen to The Blackening now.
Conor Somers for fucking real! This catharsis album is NOT doing it for me AT ALL!
@@QuantumMind88 Beyond the pale is pretty good tho
@@Luis-pi7fh ripping off a strapping young lad song, of course it was gonna be good lmao
This might be just me, but I absolutely love this song!
Yeah you’re the only person that’s likes this song. Fuckhead.
Holy shit? How am I just hearing this now? This is fucking amazing
I tell my son these same words everyday and I'm glad there are other people out there who do too. LOVE AND METAL GUYS...and as always, excellent job Dave, you truly are one of the best...
Love you brother
I love it actually - heard it 10 times now. Agree with everyone who say to go ahead and take risks!
Cant be the only one that thinks this song is incredible, appreciate its different but still great
You know, I really don't mind the change in musical direction. I think the music is actually fine.
For me it's the lyrics that are iffy. Yelling obscenities at people on the other side of the political spectrum...
The last thing we need is more polarization. Instead we should try to understand each other.
"the people on the other side" can't and won't try to understand. That's entirely the point.
That's what both sides think of the other
Ever since Trump took office, their have been more and more recorded accounts of racism and discrimination. These people are coming out of the woodwork since they feel validated because the president says the first thing that comes to his mind, they feel they have the right to confront people. Don't act so naive.
xXAscendingPhoenixXx Yeah, there was a surge of hate crimes after he won: by the Left, against whites and conservatives. Riots, severing friendships and family ties... the Left exposed just how ugly they are.
Extremists feel validated when someone who tolerates their particular brand of extremism takes power. It happens, yes. I literally said I'll condemn extremism any day of the week.
I oppose is notion that, because some people within a certain group have revealed themselves to be something, that everyone within that group must be the same way.
I oppose the trend to simplify the past election as one of pro-bigotry vs anti-bigotry in an attempt to vilify the opposing side.
I oppose oversimplification.
I oppose wanting to believe the absolute worst about your enemies in order to make yourself feel better.
I oppose bias.
I oppose escalation and polarization.
Defining an outgroup by their worst members, THAT is naive. And worse, that's the very path that leads to extremist thinking in its own right.
I do not believe it is alright to define Trump's voters by a bunch of internet trolls and militant fascists. Call me crazy.
Aaaaaaand you added the one thing you never should to metal. Politics. Rip Machine Head
Yeah....but that's simply not true. 1. Music is meant to inspire and have meaning. If MH wants to Express personal opinions via music there is nothing wrong with that. 2. If you're afraid to sing against big Gov, murder, racism ect. Then you are either a horrible person who actually supports those things. Or you're the bigots pushy around for wanting to keep quiet.
3. Politics is a very good way to retain fame. No matter what you say, roughly 45% will love it. Because you're probably speaking towards or against one side or the other. Very if you just sing about hating your wife or Ex, or about random dumb shit, nobody cares. Nobody wants to hear it.
@@isaacgillette8903 okay so you are saying that Robb Flynn and the guys of Machine Head are aganist big government, racism, and all this other shit, but let me ask you something. Why has the left been wanting to increase a bigger government when Trump has been trying to make it smaller, and you thing Bernie Sanders is aganist big Banks lmao he is played by the big Banks Trump was the only one not funded by any banks or big corporations, and thus part is funny Racist LMFAO are you serious you sound like the rest of the SJWs we don't care about race, race doesn't matter it's how you present yourself the only peoplr who care so much for race is the left because they are the true racist. Enjoy the lesson I just gave you INFOWARS.COM
Sau geil der Song. iwi anders als gewohnt aber trotzdem super :)
This sounds like a South Park song gone terribly wrong
OHHH SHIT jajajajaja I hate to say... I AGREE
This is not metal, this is pop.
This song is heavy, bold, and unapologetic. If this isn't your thing, maybe metal isn't right for you.
This is intentionally made to reach a wider audience. Good message.
Wow. Machine Head doing Irish Punk Folk and I like it. I bet 20 Years ago my youthful narrow mind would've dismissed this as them going soft or commercial(or betraying what they stand for xD). Quite a different story today.
I still think this is the best metal song ever written.
Super Punk influence, powerfull shit love it!
Even if this isn't one of my favourite MH songs I still find the emotion and honesty pretty damn awesome. Robb has such a brilliant voice, even after all these years (fan since 94').
Machine Head and Robb Flyn have grown so much in my consideration...
Well... what should we call this album, guys? I saw someone say "The Cuckening" and it rather fits.
Random guy: Lot’s of people think Robb Flynn isn’t a dumb fuckboy
Me: *Lot’s of cunts*
Very , very bold lyrics! I love the fact Flynn is not afraid to speak his thoughts even if they contradict the mainstream flag waving populous who never think about what they are saluting. This provokes thought. Some have not thought yet. Some have already questioned and come up with some uncomfortable ugly truths hiding behind mainstream. On the other hand you have artists like Dee Snider who seems to be singing about flag waving and full on behind blind patriotism. I remember when Dee had some thought provoking lyrics in the early twisted sister material. I prefer though provoking to Love, love me do. There are some great controversies of our time to sing about right now. Thanks for being bold.
Nah mate, you guys are the mainstream
Dimebav would disagree with this douche
It feels like he has a good heart but a small culture, all due respect.
Another reason to stay away from meth.
I like this song.
