I have had 2 cavies. Our female Poppy has had more health problems. Even though she comes from better breeding lines, and she is our second one, we are more ‘on the ball’ with our care routines. I guess it just luck sometimes. But she will have her ‘Sweet 16th’ birthday at the beginning of March. We are so excited!
Milton is a very special girl❤️🐾 and so beautiful. Thank you for this post, as I would have also been worried regarding those skin growths. Another thing about Cavaliers that I found out in a quite expensive way was that they have this inherited eye feature - cholesterol composites on their eyes. I noticed whitish translucent spots on my Bixy's eyes and freaked out that some macular degeneration is forming or something like that. Took him to an ophalmologist just to find out it is very common for Cavaliers, it doesn't affect their vision or anything ... what a relief 😊

My Cavalier had the same skin growths. Her doctor was able to handle in the office, no surgery.
My little girl, Luna, has the exact same looking skin tag on her inner elbow! It's long and pointy and is just like you said, feels like a stretchy piece of skin. If the skin tag get irritated or gets caught and bleeds, you could ask your vet if cryosurgery is an option or if your vet can snip it off. Both are possible under just local anesthesia if Milton's generally calm. I've had many mini procedures done on my girls with local anesthesia or mild sedatives because of their heart ❤ We make sure they're comfortable and not stressed each time 🥰

My parson Russell had at least 6 skin tags. We had to remove them when 1 started to bleed and it would not stop. It was not cancerous. Once they were removed she never had them again. But she looked awful for a while. The salt water at the beach helped them to heal.
The new one by the ear looks like what my cav had at the end of last year, it was a little bump and after a few weeks some dried skin came out of it and then it was gone! Learning new things everyday as you said!
Your so right my cavvie before Rusty I have now was in such good health but Rusty has had ear infections and belly problems… just finished checking all over him for anything else… and can I say your slaying the makeup and hair 🩷
It’s good to see you . We have an appointment to get a growth removed from one of my cavies lip. It looks like a blackberry. They’re around 9 years old and starting to slow down a bit. I have one who has no issues and the other seems to have something happening. ❤you’ve done so well with your pups and your son so 🥰 adorable

Told ya it was a skin tag nothing to worry about 💞I feel u with the anesthetic lady is also advised not to go under due to her severe sm she always has a hard job waking up after surgery. They are so commen in older small breeds ur larger breeds like labs and springers get fatty lumps. As groomers we find these a lot and I can tell what is a cancerous lump vs fatty lumps have caught these lumps earlier and it has saved dogs 💞 the colestral build up in eyes lady has and it is linked to sm again a clear white like doesn’t affect the vision. Again not commen for vets to see so she walks on and they are like all her issues ain’t common 🤣 the neurologist though said all that stuff is linked and her vascular episodes are linked to her sm just with the fluid and it controlling her movement ect. But I’m glad Millie is ok 💞 can’t believe how old they both are now and they are ageing really nicely u take fab care of them xxxx

Lucy has a small fibroma not malign near the neck, no surgery needed. I pet her every day so I noticed the changes right away as you said.
