I remember my first experience on a 518 except it was a grapple machine, when i ran over that yellow jacket nest and had abouy 20 on my face, i went one way the skidder went the other😂 good times
There were tons of those around when I was growing up. My dad always had Franklin's but the pivot design and all were similar to the Cat. I like the blade idea but it would keep you hung up all the time where we work...lol

3304 -good engine with mechanical governed fuel injection pump. Tools a service manual and able to read--you can repair it from blade to winch--Old 40 year Cat mechanic--Any questions--ask!!!!!
Ha! Try 20 ton pulling capacity on the winch. The skidder he’s probably pretty close on the estimate, I’d imagine the machine would do 2 could pulls with regularity. With snow, downhill terrain, etc probably more or bad conditions even less, all depends.

The 518 cat was probably one of the only cable machine I’ve never owned or ran. Not to many of them around in my neck of the woods.

In my experience most suck air through the radiator into the engine bay, I may be wrong on this one but most do, semi trucks too
