I can’t get over how genuinely good the Beethoven sequence is. Like this is all animated masterfully, but the creativity and in that segment combined with the beautiful animation makes my jaw drop every time
Dirk is the only in a video game hero that actually got busy with his princess/wife. I mean did you see how many kids they have? I’m willing to bet they will have plenty more in the future.
Her being kidnapped is basically their form foreplay 😂.
Such an epic quest with a heartwarming ending. A classic story that should never be tampered with.
I love all of Dirk's screams, can never really appreciate them while you're playing because it's just SO INTENSE

The first DL was so great at the time, I knew every sound and every move by memory. It’s hard to not make those noises and sounds when I play it today. But man the second was so difficult like nothing I had ever seen when it came out into the arcades.
What I'm going to guess is that someone fell into a silo full of cocaine and the only way to get free was to snort themselves out of it. And after they did they decided to make this game. Good lord that was trippy.
Either that or they took a thrumbo amount of beer bottles then made this game

Actually, Don Bluth made this game with no drugs or alcohol affecting him. Same with the original.

Spenr thousands on this arcade and never beat it. The only machine left in my area was at Great America Amusement park in Santa Clara. Lived 50 minutes away. I only could plwy when i visited the park. I usually spent ablut 1p to 20 dollars a day on this game.

Technically, you're right it's storytelling. But technically, it's a game. It was marketed as a game. It was in video arcade, and people paid money to play. There were very long lines that formed to play this game. I know I was there
Then game consoles (other than atari 2600) that had the power, the ram, and the data storage came along, and it was the number one game other mario Bros for a short time.
So it's a game, but you're right it's storytelling. All games have to have storytelling to keep people interested in the game.

.was one of the first laser disc games, basicly you had to hit the right button or push the controller in the right direction in time to make it to the next animation... the first dragons lair was much better
These were basically quicktime events the game’s. One’s that you would be paying a truckload of quarters in at the arcades in the 80’s with how many times you die in the games.
