    This does feel off. I feel like Cassie might have rushed into writing this. Despite the many times this has been pushed back it, it feels like CC just wanted to finish this as soon as she could considering she had to write her adult book sword catcher as well.

      I still can't believe she killed my favorite character.... it ruined the whole series for me. It was so unnecessary. In my headcannon he is still alive and he and grace just lived somewhere in the country alone

      It really does, doesn't it? I'd have happily waited longer for a better conclusion to the series.

    I don’t think Mathew was truly in love with Cordelia. I think he had so much pain and anger and Cordelia was the one he shared that with so he mistook that connection and friendship for love. At the end I think them being close again shows that he wasn’t in love with her but had forged a strong friendship

    THANK YOU. Indeed, the dead was too fast, too useless, and nobody seem to care except a little bit in the perspective of Anna. And Grace. I cried so much, but GOD, we didnt even show how Cecily and Gabriel react. I just, cant. I gave the book 3.5/5 stars

      And a bit of Thomas of course, as you said.

      honestly i was too shocked to cry at first because i thought it couldn't possibly be real but when i realised it was, i was sobbing. we absolutely should have been given a scene with cecily and gabriel

    I agree 100% about Christopher’s death. It just felt so useless and it felt like he was ignored so much and we just kinda got “Christopher died” said over and over again with no emotion behind it and I was just like screaming to bring him back. But he didn’t come back until the scene with Grace which wrecked me. I really do think that the intermission grief should’ve been more about Christopher. And that he should’ve been grieved. And then he’s like a foot note in the epilogue? I enjoyed the book a very good amount until he died. And then I just felt so upset for him for the rest of the book. Like how could you hurt Kit like that?? Devastating

    • @QueenOfTeenFiction
      @QueenOfTeenFiction  Před rokem +3

      RIGHT? We were barely shown ANY emotion over Christopher and it just made the rest of the book really hard to get through because I just couldn't ignore it

      I actually rewound several times to listen to this part of the book because it definitely flew by so fast that it reduced poor Christopher to a footnote in Shadowhunter history, probably to that dude that invented fire messages.

    100% agree about Christopher’s death and the way it was dealt with… I wish at least at the end, after the whole fighting was done, we could have gotten some merry thieves meeting to reminisce about him, even change that scene about leaving things behind and give Christopher the appreciation he deserved

    The bit at the end with Bridget and the lightning made a bit of sense to me. That lightning was supposed to be angelic and coming from Heaven, and the book said that due to some angelic intervention none of the mundanes nor the outside world remember what happened to London.

    I really wish Christopher had a funeral and we got to see Cecily and Gabriel’s reactions like he died which motivated the other characters but like where was the funeral he deserved 😭😭😭 my poor Christopher he didn’t deserve this ☹️☹️ Cassie also should’ve put more emotion in the scene like I wanted to cry so badly but instead I just put the book down and stared at my wall
    I was really hoping that when James made a deal with belial he was gonna ask to bring Christopher back
    Also I noticed how there’s “Cordelia ran” EVERYWHERE. Start of chapter 26 and 35 as well as the end like
    Ur literally speaking every single thought I have like THOMAS AND ALISTAIR?? ANNA AND ARI??? THE FAILED FIRE MESSAGE EVERYTHING

    Christopher’s death messes with the family tree too. Alec’s family is supposedly descended from Christopher and graces children…but he died. So where does that leave us?

    Lucie and Jesse were the best couple in this trilogy! Grace and Christopher a would be couple so sad. I think Ariadne deserves someone better than Anna. I think the TLH parents are boring, like they aren’t flawed like Elias was or deranged like Tatiana. I so tired of the love triangles.
    The Princes of Hell are playing the long chessboard game which will unfortunately involve the TMI Gang.
    Dru and Jaime I ship because it isn’t gonna be faerie influenced like Dru and Ash.

    Why??!! CHRISTOPHER! It's so useless. A sudden death and nobody even cared bout him.. He's a character who deserved to have a happy ending and it's all ruined now 😭😭

    tbh the whole book was basic. I could see the ending from the start of the book - usually my hunches are not too far off, but this time was bang on. So I have either cracked the CC code or the writing was just basic. I think the POVs threw the book off too much - not much happened because everything was covered from every POV, lit everything was explained, which just made the story really elementary. Like as soon as it was mentioned Cortana has healing powers, and Lilith mentioning it, I was like yep Jamie will get stabbed and Cordelia will heal him. Kit's death just seemed like CC needed someone to die, because not everyone can live, and it wouldn't work out with Grace/a relationship/future with grace would be too complicated to write about/forgiveness is not easy to write about. The whole thing with the Family tree lady felt more like CC was trying to justify the family tree, and just felt like info for the reader, rather than actually needed in the book - I don't think this really needed to be explained in so much detail. Honestly half the dialogue and text was a bit cringe, or maybe I've just grown up heaps since reading TMI/TID/TDA and CC writing has become too predictable, and you don't get those "butterflies" anymore (rip joys of reading). honestly the whole story was fan service, which is fine, but the writing could have been more exciting and the plot less predictable. lit felt more like fanfiction, than an actual novel. tbh will probs still read TWP just for completeness. also wanted more badass cordelia fighting scenes & others, but never happened cos of lilith and stuff but anyway.

      I know exactly what you mean - it just didn't have the magic that I've come to expect from CC series. I was expecting more plot twists and ominous moments but it was just so empty???

    I didn't like the new Belial part. It was just just weird to me and I don't get it.. Basically they got their own soon to be prince of hell line up there running just in case? Like they just waiting to get the job interview. Because it was another Belial, a different demon, but still had the same name and all. How does this even work? So I'd assume he couldn't walk on earth either, but why? Why must he pay for something he didn't do? It all felt like a cheap fan fiction to me.

    • @QueenOfTeenFiction
      @QueenOfTeenFiction  Před rokem

      Yeah that whole thing was just,,, odd. It doesn't feel threatening or ominous like it should.

    And why in all the series there is one lightwood that die? I'm so so so worried for Alec in TWP series! 😭😭😭 There are so many blackthorn in the series just kill one of them. I vote for Julian 😂 or emma. Leave the lightwoods alone... 👀
