Sylvain, your channel have very quickly become my favourite one. Outstanding content, Thank you!
Keep them coming Sylvain, we love to hear your thoughts, feelings, opinions and experiences 👌
Bt sport should make sylvain the tech guy for their broadcasts! He’s made more sense over the last few uploads than anyone has watching 20+ years of motogp. Thanks Sylvain
Totally agree plus his english is very very good! I understood everything. Great job. Well done.
They've got Michael Laverty for that, he just doesn't get to much time to explain stuff fully on live tv
That 8 hour bike 😍
@Wall Cutter i just have a thing for endurance bikes past and present lol im not alone, i love the look of them and the trick parts they have
I wish I could watch the Suzuka 8 hour race and others in that racing series. Can’t find them 😞
@@utp216 eurosport covers all of the ewc race including the suzuka 8 hours
Thank you Sylvain, this video series is absolutely brilliant!
Great work explaining something MotoGP followers never knew exact details of. Whether Suzuki realizes it or not, you've become a great brand ambassador for them.
Thanks for these glimpses into the world of MotoGP and riding techniques. Great to watch.
Thanks for sharing Sylvain, this is pure gold! Bravo!
Really enjoying the vids Sylvain, super informative. Keep them coming!
Thank you for taking the time to go in-depth with us motorcycle fans (especially us GSXR boys and girls).
Love the videos!!!!!!!!!👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼😊
Top man. Loving these videos, thanks for going out your way to bring a little entertainment to our lives in these times.
Only a month or so the channel is started but already the content is light years away from my expectation. Thanks for shedding light on the technology and for explaining them in such a details. Biggest thumbs up ever. :)
That corner of your garden looks purpose built to show off a bike, let us hope for a nice summer and more bike corner features in the sun.
You are a great asset to Suzuki and to everyone watching your channel.....love it.
Thanks Silvain, unique content and explanations on CZcams, keep it up!
Thanks Sylvania. Always great for an everyday rider to hear your insights
Can't help noticing the seamless shift on that garden chair. Great channel though Sylvan
Bravo Sylvain, super explication, très claire et hyper intéressant !
Another brilliant video, thank you. Simply explained by a pro, so that the every day biker can understand. Perfect 👍🏻
Love your videos and keep bringing such videos.
Thankyou for another great vid Sylvain 👌👌
Thanks for bringing the top knowledge. Love way you explain the things. Keep it up man.
Great explanation, thanks for the vids, they enhance our appreciation of the sport.
Thank you for the video, sounds similar to a dual clutch gearbox. Respect for being able to ride these machines.
what a breath of fresh air Sylvain. I didn't "know" you before I found your youtube but now I'm a big fan mate.
More fantastic insight, as always thanks so much for your time 😁👍
Great explanation. Thank you, Sylvain!
Great work, Sylvain! I listen to you like a little child ☺️ Keep the same spirit and be safe!
Very informative and explained a lot that I never knew, thanks!
it sounds very much like a dual-clutch transmission of a car, great stuff Sylvain, keep it up
Yeah..does sound like one to me. But that shift time is mind blowing..
MotoGP made duel clutch transmissions against the rules years ago; the manufacturers came up with seamless gear boxes as result of the rules.
I believe Honda had dual clutch on some consumer road bikes years ago, i have no idea how well they worked, or not.
@@8180634 think it was the africa twin or something, but considering its not popular means its not good hahaha, lets keep it that way, i prefer the clutch the way it is.
@@8180634 they still have it now on their Africa twin,x-adv,nc750x and their latest Goldwing with the gen 3 dct.. according to reviewers the gearbox works perfectly well. I've rode the x-adv before and personally i like it.. maybe some others don't..
Excellent explanation, especially from a world class rider's perspective! Well done and thank you.
Very good explanation on these technical issues, your insight is much appreciated.
Excellent video!!!
Thanks for posting it!!!
Very well explained thanks Sylvain!
Thumbs up.

Very informative. Thanks buddy 👍
Merci Sylvain. Très bien expliqué 👍
Very good explanation thank you very much
Thank you for this informational video 👍
Thanks for share mate! Keep with this kind of content, please!
Fascinating videos Sylvain 👍🏻
Nice and smooth brooo tks again!!! 🤣☝️🚀💙
Kind of makes me wonder how we ever raced superbikes without computers on them.... then I'm reminded of Reg Pridmore... if you were ever lucky enough to attend his riding school and even luckier to have gotten a ride-around on the back of his BMW you'd have gotten a real world demonstration of how this was (expertly) done in the analog days... with the CLUTCH LEVER and some skills.
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!!
Very outstanding content, no wonder why Suzuki GSXRR gp bike now had very competitive performance..yeah with very good test rider absolutely.. The engineer must be satisfied with your comment on the gsxrr Sylvain
How cool is this channel.
Thank you for your time.
Brilliant channel,great content
Thanks for sharing. Good info.
Very informative 👌🏾💪💯💯
Very interesting !!
Interesting feature, thanks.
Great Video!
Wow Sylvain, so that explains perfectly fully to me that MotoGP is in a league, a class of it's own, with riders that might not actually be mere humans after all. I'm just getting to grips with my basic upshift only factory Quickshift on my 2014 Aprilia RSV4 Factory APRC. The bike you raced like a demon back in the day - or the super human you must be!👍🏻I'm not even a Suzuki fan but I've subscribed here!
You have great content, Sylvain
Gives more in depth info than any other channel... and not in his native language..pretty awesome
thx for explaining
Very clear and sensible explanation, thank you! I always wondered why we aren't seeing seamless gearbox technology on the open market. Even though the production bikes are less powerful, I think every rider can benefit from a smoother gear shifting experience. I hope the manufacturers will develop some more robust models soon... they would definitely sell more bikes that way ;-)
Maybe is still too expensive and complicated to be mass produced, but as street bike power level keep increasing my bet is we will see this on flagship superbike first.
My understanding is the same - Seamless Shift Gearboxes are beyond Swiss Watch Levels of Precision and Complexity,it would be way too expensive to put them on standard Road Bikes.
They are costing motogp teams 650.000€ per gearbox.. It's 3x the cost of an engine... So yeah, a long way from production bikes
Thnx 4 d vid. Suzuki ought 2 pay u more 4 being such an awesome brand ambassador
Thank you Sylvain!
Damn didn't know that about the quick shift on a bike.
well that saves me money, thanks learned a lot in this video.
Sylvain, thanks for all of the great content! Question, do you have the regular shift pattern or a race shift pattern on your personal GSXR, and why? Thanks in advance!
Your garden looks nice!
AWESOME 👍
Bon travail mec. Great explanation. This would probably greatly benefit high hp drag bikes with autoshift as well. Every tenth counts.
Fascinating. That system was developed on cars in the 20's? I know it was never adopted because it was expensive and complex then. Seems like it was the delahaye that used it.
Beautifully explained 🙏..
Can you make a video on MotoGP exhaust system and Superbike exhausts 🤘🏼
Thank you
Thanks Guinters!
Is it something like double clutch?
Thank you.
are there any differences in engine breaking between seamless gearbox and standard?
Nice 👍
hi sir can you tackle about body position and knee dragging with the bike and some tips and tricks
thank you sir im from the philippines and a newbie
Loved the explanation, as always Sylvain! I did think that the fact that neutral is below 1st gear instead of between 1st and 2nd, would be the biggest gain (no more false neutrals)...but your explanation makes a ton of sense.
VState60 neutral below 1st? When is that applied on a race bike? Genuine question?
And “false neutrals” are situated between gears where there isn’t meant to be a neutral eg 3-4, 4-5, 5-6, or going down those gears. Caused by either poor gearbox design, wear/damage, or rider error.
An example would be the rider is in 2nd, clicks up on the lever, which disengages the 2nd driven gear, but due to any of the above reasons, 3rd gear does not engage into its drive position and still spins freely on its shaft, creating a “false neutral” between 2nd and 3rd.
Hope that makes sense?

Thanks Sylvain
Great content, Sylvain! Can you try to make a video about the pros & cons of smooth & aggressive riding? Thank you!
I first noticed this because the audible difference of downshifting on a MotoGP bike vs. WSBK or other sport bike. The autoblip feature + seamless transmission seems to have a very hard-to-notice separation between shifts, almost creating a downshift all at once, even if it’s several gears being dropped.
Your videos are excellent - it'll be great to see you riding again on-track - am sure you cannot wait, either!
Question - what about the MotoGP clutches with seamless gearboxes? Are they still quite similar to road bikes? I'm guessing back-torque limiting, etc.
Hi there. Thank you for all the interesting videos especially in this time. This was very interesting. Is it possible to do a video on GP shift vs Road shift. Benefits for us weekend track riders and club racers. Are there any top racers that use normal road shift in racing? Thanks.
Quick question, on the red gsxr you have pictured in the beginning, I've noticed how high your foot pegs are, they look at least 6" higher than everything I've ever seen, what is the benefit of this or reasoning? I also could be crazy
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 tq sylvain
Heard on the grape vine there bringing this technology into the road bike scene soon ! Although it's been around for quite some time
Hi, Do race teams balance their tyres? Does it make a difference in the handling of Moto GP bikes?
How did you modify your clip ons? They appear lot higher and wider than stock handlebars.
New Goldwing 1800 DCT have the smoothest gearbox as a production bike on the market. It is like driving the scooter with Vario and dry clutch at the back
The fact that he can say ‘...and my MotoGP bike’. So cool.
