@@KittyKittyBoomBoom
Truth to say i wish to see both version original and HD i like both version.
Still no 2160p reupload?
@@KittyKittyBoomBoom That would be cool (2160p would be even cooler). However I always thought that one needs the (original analogue or digital) master tape (if @RHINO) still has it, to natively remaster it to 2160p. But sure man, would love to see this awsome clip in better quality
@@KittyKittyBoomBoom By the way keep the original aspect ratio 4:3 and not 16:9 or it will look stretched out. I hate it when original channels stretch it to 16:9 (looks unnatural)

Just you bro, nobody else....
I'm right here watching this❤😂🎉
No conflicts, please... 😂
I saw them back in 1985 live in Dothan ,ALABAMA

I'm leaving this comment so anytime someone comments, I can come back and enjoy this epic song.

RATT really started rolling in 84 when I was 16 in highschool still one of my favorite bands of all time Warren is a guitar god absolute LEGEND. R.I.P. Robbin. Ratt was an awesome band.

Right here bro
I Seen this Tour in 85 with Bon Jovi.
Warren is the Man
Right here man! 80's ruled!

Can we admit Ratt were the riff-masters of hair metal?
And so more
I’ll go further to say that this is the best ‘hair metal’ song of the 80s… and their riffs are tremendous. Round and round, back for more, this one… if EVH is the riff master, and Tony iommi the god father of the riff, these guys are their descendants.
Yes but Mötley too ❤
I'm sorry but for talent and songwriting Motley Crue could not hang with this band. At every position
@@kurtemus your opinion man …
Warren DeMartini is so underrated as a guitarist and that opening riff is an 80s classic!
Nah, Robbin Crosby is even more underrated. And a better guitarist imo. More feeling in his playing than DeMartini's.
@@alvirthevampyr agreed
For me, it's the most 80's guitar riff in the history of guitar riffs.
VH1 labeled him as one of the ten most under-rated "hair metal" guitarists of the 80's.
Me: agrees
Also me: looks at robin crosby
That opening riff is hands down one of the best ones in 80's metal!
Guaranteed!! 🔥🔥🤘🤘😊
Ratt always have catchy riffs.
No thing better
period
I read somewhere Jake E Lee helped Warren DeMartini write it. Considering some of the chord voicings are kinda hard to play it makes sense.
My God, that riff. That freaking riff.
Why is that opening riff so awesome?

WARREN TORCH DEMARTINI ABSOLUTE LEGEND..........
@@steve2275WARREN DEMARTINI........ Legend
This is way back when MTV played great music videos . The Early 80's were great, actually The 80's as a whole were great.
Ill second that thought!!!!!!!
I'm 60 years old, a grandfather and a fucken RATT fan since 1982!!!
Saw Ratt and Bon Jovi as a teenager. Rock on!!!🤟

And this song has one of the greatest intros of any rock song ever! 🎸🥁
Hell yeah
One of the BEST opening riffs in rock n roll history!
Absolutely agree!
Possibly BEST ♥
Truly!
forgettable!
Exagerated^^
Ratt had some of the best riffs in the 80s. With truly recognizable chords and unique sounds, they were one of my favorite groups.
hands down one of the sickest opening riffs in metal
Do you get chills when you hear it
This and "I'm The One" by VH are two of my favorite opening riffs. Warren still has it!
When you hear that beginning riff you know something good is about to happen.
*great
Definitely
It's RATT.... What else would you expect?☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Best band ever!!!!
Ratt n' Roll
So true!
I'm 50 years old now. I was 15 in 1985. This still gets me going when I hear it. Thank you RATT and Beau Hill to make this epic album that will always stand the test of time!! RATT n ROLL!
There are some of us that remember when these albums first came out. I am one of them. I'm 55 now. This sounds just as good now as it did when it first hit the airwaves.
Me too! I loved Raft and all those great hair bands. Rock on man
I’m 49, soon to be 50 in just a few months. They were the soundtrack of my youth.
sir I envy people like you for experiencing those guys in their prime. I am 20 years old now and I have been listening to this music ever since i was 13 and i feel i am in the wrong generation
I'm 54 and Ratt, Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Twisted Sister and Def Leppard were my senior year in high school! So glad I experienced those times!
R.I.P. Robin "King" Crosby. His rhythm guitar and Juan's bass were the anchors of Ratt's sound! The Blotz' drums brought it all together and kept heads banging!!
Long live the King!! He's missed everyday!!
So sad he passed (in 2002 age 42)
One of the greatest riffs ever. A true classic
I was 11 when this came out . Thank God I had an older brother and sister who had all of this great music like Ratt , Motley Crue , Queensryche , Iron Maiden , Judas Priest , Dokken and on and on . So thankful that I grew up in such a great era for both life and music .
I feel the same way but I was only 3 when this came out.. I did catch the Motley Crue wave, Dr. Feelgood era though from an older brother. Similarly to your story. I was listening to whatever was on the radio, usually at that time, Michael Jackson, Billy Idol, but I don't remember hearing a lot of stuff like RATT then. I do remember Warrant on the bus heading to school, someone else's big sister had the tape and he borrowed it. Sounded good then just like it does now.
Right on🤘I was a little girl around 6 watching this on MTV & head banging! Cheers to you Keith 🍺
@@DaddySizeIt ratt had 2 top 40 songs. they were more popular on AOR (album oriented rock) radio stations. around 18 million albums sold worldwide. great metal riffs from crosby and demartini .
Apart from Motley Crue who are a bit crap
I was still in my dads balls for another couple decades when this came out 😂
Everybody is about the intro riff, but props to Pearcy, is voice and singing fits like a glove.
Not any more.
I saw RATT in concert in 1985 and my ears rang for 3 days! Loved it!!

Me too.. In Poughkeepsie NY at the Mid Hudson Civic Center they warmed up for Motley Crue , 1985 the only time i ever saw Police on Horseback.

The voice, the riffs, the lyrics, the drums, the harmony,,,,,, FANTASTIC!

I saw them in concert and when he stared in my direction I liked to have died... OMG... I loved this band and Duran Duran in the 80's...
Man what a great jam from Ratt who is in my opinion in the top three best Rock bands to come out of the 80's. I'm 48 now and I still have my original cassette of Invasion of your Privacy. These jams never get old 👍🤘🎤🎸.
💯🤘
They deserved to be more popular than Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and Poison
Although it doesn't fit me anymore, I still have my original shirt from that tour!!
Ratt was good but top 3 is a stretch. You got bands like Van Halen, the Crue, Dokken, Stryper, Keel, Great White, Warrant, WASP, LA Guns, Quiet Riot, Guns N Roses etc. Too many to name....
Ratt will always be one of my favorite 80s bands
i never get sick of the guitar intro. NEVER!!!
As a drummer of 40 years, Bobby’s groove and control on this tune just speaks to my soul. Incredible song as a whole
It was always his favorite to play.
Yep, I'm a guitar player/song writer and most people don't realize the drummer makes or breaks the band when it comes to the groove.
I'm a drummer too.... I can't get this song down because my right hand wants to follow my right foot...ugh. limb independent exercises
Ratt always had an excellent sound man. Their albums have a punchy crisp sound which is as good as any digital recording nowadays
This riff is one of the greatest of all time.
the first 3 songs (you're in love, never use love and lay it down just crushed it in 85. the world needed better music and Ratt delivered.
@@sicfrynut You`re in love opening riff is amazing.
"For Whom The Bell Tolls" by Metallica is pretty good too. This one is pretty sick though. 😊
Man, this is therapy in these times!
Its been a hip hop nation for about 30 years now, no accident. Metal from the 80's was too white for the influencers so some change was needed. It took true talent back in the day to keep up in modern hard rock.
Yep. Getting high in Oregon 🇺🇸
Truth. I don't go a day without my 80's metal. It's my therapy
Weed & metal are both good therapy 😎🤘
2:56 The way Warren rides those bends, and the phrase ends on that pickardy 3rd with the vibrato on it, man so cool and so very vocal sounding. Really making the lead part sing in the intro to that solo... And then it opens up to some nice shredding with those runs! With the chromaticism.. He plays almost like a jazz horn player would. He's a true musicians musician, the real deal. Not just a guitar God, he's got true chops. I always think Warren was their musical backbone, without a doubt.
Always has been one of my favorite guitar solos. Very tasty.
That guitar solo by Warren combined with the drum roll by Bobby at the beginning of the song is so good! Seriously, who doesn't love Lay It Down?
Lay it down by RATT always gives me goose bumps
That guitar tone and opening riff....one of the top 5 greatest from 80s!!!!
cest le meilleur
Saw them on the “Invasion of Your Privacy” tour in ‘86. Absolutely incredible live band. Robbin Crosby, one of the most underrated guitarist ever! Ratt’s best album. Even better than “Out of the Cellar”. The 80’s were the best. I’m happy I experienced it.
That opening riff is a part of my soul now 🔥
One of the best opening riffs
Riff beyond captivating and magical melody! Ratt at that time was sensational!
The best music period! Hope it never goes away
The opening riff is something I worked on getting right for awhile. I've been playing since I was 7 I'm 67 now still love these guys .
Clearly this is Party Metal! Where else can you get killer guitar riffs, hot chicks and good times for yrs?

That vocal stacking effect was so popular with 80s metal bands.
So true!!! Literally I was just talking to my buddies last night about that with Up All Night by Slaughter and Smooth Up In Ya by Bullet Boys lol \m/
One of Warren DeMartini's best guitar solos, pure gold.
Ratt always had that crispy guitar with SPs clear singing. What a sound! RIP Robbin.
Ratt blew the doors off with this album. Original and cool lyrics and sound. Saw them at least 3 times as a teen and was rocked each time!

Yes please take me back to the 80's. Sooooo much better back then and everyone didn't turn everything political like they do now and this guy did in the comments. 80's was a hoot. If you invent a time machine, take me along please!!! Haha

Well put Gil I'm still grabbed by the opening riff , and love to this day the line under the sheets you will find me I know nothing's for free. You gotta love it rock n roll
ABSOLUTELY!
Saw them live at the Bismarck civic center in 88...yeah, they kicked ass...
Yes Gilbert, not only does it sound fresh today, but nothing today can get close to it.
Opening riff inspired by Van Halen - Unchained: their most signature heavy riff utilizing Eddie's infamous "brown sound". Warren emulated it perfectly here and made it his own in the way only he could. Him and George Lynch loved playing outside the traditional blues box and added a lot of dissonance to their chords and solos. Both 80's masters of a totally different style of rock.
I respected DeMartini because he could have easily went down the EVH clone path but didn't. He was technical, fast but not absurd and accurate. Each note was clean, chords had space. Could be wrong but I don't think he ever tapped. Also didn't ruffle any feathers and step outside his lane and become a "rock god".
Someone knows his stuff🤣. I totally agree
The dissonance is what makes this stand out to me. Riff goes dummy. Also very hard to play, this mf has some flexible fingers
Not the brown sound. Much heavier on the preamp distortion. Still a hell of a tone, but definitely not Eddie's Brown Sound.
There are many successors of Yngwie, but few of Eddie VH. Warren DeMartini is clearly one of Eddie, in a good sense like Beethoven is heir of Mozart.
Lotta things getting laid down here Drum licks, killer riffs, and a slaying guitar solo amongst other things! True classic.
The '80's. Best. Decade. Ever.
Hell yeah!
I've seen UFO, Molly Hatchet, Van Halen,(Fair Warning tour), Rush,( Moving Pictures tour). But the two that really stick out? Seeing Ozzy at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago and in Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. Both with Randy Rhodes. Still have the ticket stubs in a picture frame. Yeah, the '80's were something .
Dude there’s not single day when I listen to my music where I don’t tell myself “damn what would I give to live my teen years in the 80s” in an other world maybe…
I was 18 in 1980, 28 in 1990. Best 10 years of my life.
… AND HOW!!
The blowing of the candles and spinning hat thing kind of robs the opening power cord of some of its majesty. Classic riff.
It adds a little theatrically for me 🤟

One of the most difficult rifts I've ever learned how to play, you have to de-tune your guitar in order for it to sound right.... I also nearly sprained my fingers also... Just a kick ass Ratt tune. :)
Drop the LP or Strat full C necks and try a Wolfgang. I have a average stretch but you are right in that it will test your pinkie. I switch guitars a lot and going to the EVH Wolf or similar and I feel like Steve Vai !!
I don’t play guitar 1 bit
I know a guy who I consider to be a really good guitarist.
I go over his house, we burn 1 & start bs’ing, I remembered your comment and asked him to listen to this song and then mimic it. He’s got the chops to do it. So he listens and intently watches this same video on CZcams in front of me. He couldn’t get it & I left after 20 minutes of him trying.
Next day he calls me up telling me exactly what you said. His respect for Ratt is now huge thanks to you. Says his hand hurt & he finally figured out the tuning. He played me that riff over the phone while yelling “woooooooo” Ric Flair style--He’s a Ratt fan now because of your comment.
