  • After a difficult four whole months of trying to get a visa to Egypt, I finally got it!, 3 days before my flight was scheduled to depart!. It was crazy but I'm glad I made it.
    Here's the first day going out in Cairo and getting used to how things work and what there is to do.
    I went to Khan El Khalili which is a famous market in Cairo and its massive, I also went to the famous Island of Zamalek and went to do my nails and do some shopping.
    Thanks for watching and more to come!.
    Love//
    Kacha.

    I really like this video. You have a lovely attitude. I'm planning a trip to Egypt soon and videos like this help me have the right expectations. Could you tell me which hotel you were staying at and what the issue was? Or if there is something specific you recommend? Also some of the prices of other souvenirs you bought, if possible.

    • @chimkasii
      @chimkasii  Před 2 lety

      Thank you!
      In this particular vlog I stayed in 2 hotels, the first one was one of the cheaper hotels you find in Giza where you have the pyramids view. I didn't expect the condition to be as bad as it was but it really wasn't good. Depends on your taste and budget but a lot of the pyramids view, pyramids eye hotels in giza are barely hotels and the standard isn't really great.

    • @chimkasii
      @chimkasii  Před 2 lety +1

      The second hotel I stayed was in central Cairo. It's called Steingenberger, its a chain and it was quite good...couldn't complain really, standard 4-star hotel. The location is even more fantastic, right in front of the museum and it was generally easy to get around besides Cairo traffic.

    • @chimkasii
      @chimkasii  Před 2 lety

      Souvenirs is a weird one, I didn't buy a lot of it in Caira. I bought more down south of Egypt in Luxor and Aswan.
      Khan El-Khalili is still a good place for souvenirs but be ready to bargain. I bought this popular egg shaped lamp for 200 Egyptian pounds, there's a candle lamp/cover thing made from a popular stone that I bought for 100 EGP too.
      The real price of everything is at least 50% of the price they tell you so just be brave and bargain (politely).
      All the best and I hope you have a lovely trip! 💖

      I live in the UK and have an account that allows me make payments abroad without charges so that helped, I can also withdraw cash from ATM Machines without charges up to a certain amount.
      At some point I used the typical Bureau de Change shops too and their exchange rates weren't too bad.

      Everyone who I've met that went to Egypt had the same complaints and for me it didn't take away from the experience, it was just part of it. There are ups and downs to traveling and it's not always good.
      Unfortunately I'm not rich and I don't have a ton of cash to spend whilst on holiday but if you do, I love that for you 🥰

    plz donot come again and tell the story to everyone ..i was normally walking to ride my uber at talaat harb square cairo and suddenly an aggressive with bad attitude guy wearing as a normal citizen asked me for my ID,, i asked him why should i do that ! he told me he is a police ,, then i asked him to show me his badge or id 1st to prove that he is a police politely and then i will show him my id .he instantly shouted at me and started screaming and accused me to be crazy just for asking this question !!! .. the moment i tried to film what happened to me they forced and aggressively took my mobile and started seeing my personal stuff including facebook,whatsapp ..etc..after 3 hours of humiliation and crying by tears ,they let me go after they didn't find any wrong thing.. i felt scared and under real threat in my own country .. they tried to drag me to the police car with no reason and no one showed me his badge or ID .. plz stay safe and thank and pray to god that you are from a country that defends their citizens unlike egypt who insults their own citizen !!.. if it is a must then donot move without your passport not just the id and threaten them that you will go to the embassy ,,and police may abuse you to take your money also....stay safe
