Anyone else notice how brave Tu Shanjing is at 38:16 when he doesn't even think twice about harming Cang Xuan to prevent Cang Xuan from potentially harming Xiao Liu as Cang Xuan kneels to use his powers on Xiao Liu's wounded leg... Excellent episode for Zhang Wanyi (the gradual realization of all the awful things he did to Xiao Liu was actually to his sister, his tears make me cry!) and Deng Wei (the heartfelt confession in the dragon cage was so moving, his tears made me cry too!!). Even the King of Hao Ling was incredible in his subtle, wise, and gentle portrayal. One of my favourite episodes of this series!
Great that the author of the novel was one of the script writers. The drama plots have closely followed the original story. Many scripts foreshadowed the following story lines. The King of HaoLing’s comment about “harm in the name of love” implied Xuan’s choice. He hurt XiaoYao so badly in the last several episodes of the book. XiangLiu chose his side with the rebels, so he knew he couldn’t give XiaoYao what she was longing for. What he did for her was sacrifice, very touching! Jing represented unconditional love and trust. He was sophisticated, intelligent enough to assist Xuan to achieve his ambitions. But he knew clearly what he wanted the most was simply being Ye Shiqi by Xiaoliu’s side. Really like the plots of Sang Tian’er. Almost every conversation she had with XiaoYao helped the latter see her feelings. Love all the male and female leads of this show, but I adore Deng Wei (Jing) the best.

I wasn't sure how her "father" recognized her. I just watched "The Life Time Love" (the story of Xiao Yao's parents). In it King of Hao Ling promised Xiao Yao's mother he will always protect and love Xiao Yao his daughter, because in his kingdom Xiao Yao was the only one who really loved him. Xiao Yao was the only one who dared to argue with him and misbehave in front of him. Now I understand how he knew for certain it was her.
I don’t know why some of people here are matching her with her cousin,if you people watch first episode with sense,y’all will know that they was never a child old sweetheart,no love relationship between them but brother and sister relationship,nothing like love between them,you people should stop nonsense and get over it!
Brother falls for her, but can't act on it, because of the childhood promise of brother and sister. Children don't think of love. They thought of being forever siblings even though they really aren't siblings.
