One can always tell people familiar and comfortable with horses, first ...is that they dont panic and move calmly, careful and swiftly when a horses bit is tangled up, second...is that horse smelled Polo mints in bag, and went for it, LOL! Possibly treats for her own horse/pony
they get so close because they allow them to.. they are allowed to stroke the horses.. so that's not on the public to enforce.. army's horses army's rules.
My friend, those videos are a only a small part of lots of days all over the year where almost nothing happens. I‘ve been around horses for decades. The number of incidents where inexperienced people are injured by horses is about the same as the number of pedestrians who cross a green light and get run over.

Did you watch the entire vid? She did say something to the rider, she looked apologetic. Just a simple accident, horse got nosey, got caught up. He stood well, did not panic. No harm no foul, and I bet she learned to keep tangly things away in the future.
Nobody panicked which helped keep the horse calm.
Why would they anyway
She is very lucky the horse did not spook while she had the purse around her neck.
That horse can smell treats in that purse!!😂😂😂😂
I'm sure it helped that the two trying to unhook the bag stayed calm and just did the needful...nothing more...and without jerking on the tack.
An enterprising Horse with ideas about a makeshift Nosebag.
States to VERY good training and socialization that the horse did not spook and pretty much stood still.
Good thing it wasn't Arni.
You'll never be bored at horse guards parade 🥰🐴🥰🐴🥰🐴

If that doesn't show why they need to stop getting so close to the horse and guard, I don't know what would

Oh well her fault !! 😆

people should be stopped from standing so close
People are not bored of photo with horse and guard?
Silly bint. Then the next woman had her bag in the same potentially snagable position when going up to the horse. Brain dead.
I hope that she apologised.Crass stupidity on her part.
Just an embarrassing accident. Lighten up.
