- My wife and I recently spent two nights at Refuge Bay, an exclusive four-season luxury camping destination in Alberta, Canada.
Nestled amidst hundreds of acres of untouched land and with access to your own private lake in a protected wetland this was an amazing place to relax and escape from our busy lives.
An abundance of wildlife and birds makes this a perfect place for nature lovers and was one of the main highlights of the trip.
Bring your own non-motorized watercraft or rent and enjoy the lake all to yourself.
Everything you need is right here including private shower and restroom, wood fired sauna and hot tub, BBQ, fire pit, unlimited firewood and more.
Just bring yourself, clothes and some food and you are all set for an amazing one of a kind getaway!

This was an amazing spot for a getaway with the whole area to ourselves. We were blown away by the wildlife and bird activity and have never stayed in a place where you felt so connected to nature. The dome amplified the sounds of the birds. The secluded natural area was definitely the highlight of the trip. Even with the fires and smoke it was beautiful and the rains finally came to this area to help with the wildfires. Well worth it! Have any of you stayed in a place like this?

When this video came across my CZcams feed, I recalled one of my elementary school teachers talking about geodesic domes and how they were likely to be the home of the future. I enjoyed the tour and the sense of relaxed, natural surroundings. What a wonderful, peaceful place to be! Thanks for sharing this, and a belated Happy Anniversary!
It was a fun experience for sure and this place is open year round even here in the cold winters of Alberta so they could be used as a home for sure and are pretty simple structures. It was so peaceful! Thanks for stopping by and take care!

Wow, what an incredible perfect retreat! Just Otis and I and the sounds of nature...that is what brings peace for sure! I could live there. So dry here as well, and the wildfires...just 5 km from home...got scary for a bit...south NS is still just burning out of control with record breaking fires...hoping now with rain in the forecast it will be enough to help.
