We recently were able to visit a workshop stocked with parts, chips, manuals and other tech items useful for constructing our very own droid, one of the galaxy’s most indispensable sidekicks! This was all possible at the Droid Depot in Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

I had a reservation back in June (Disneyland) and I built a droid. I was so excited, I barely slept the night before haha. It's seriously such a cool experience.
Wow! Awesome! It's like having a kid/baby on your back interacting with other kids
This was my priority when they let us in opening day. I love my droid! Such a cool and exciting experience. I put a first order chip in mine and it was fun watching him freak out in the Resistance areas of the land.

I just build one with my 4 year old and she absolutely loved the hole experience.
I hope I'll Build One, When All Of This is Over, My Ideal Droid would be a R-2 Unit, It would have a White Body, a Red Head, Blue and White Legs, Blue and White Accessories, and It's name would be George, and I would get the Backpack, that way I can Carry It around Like a Baby, and I would get the Resistance Chip too.
So cool it interacts with the other droids. FUN!!!
Oh yeah!!! Thank you so much for posting this video. I cannot wait to make one with my 4 year old daughter. That looked super overwhelming, but super helpful to know what to expect. Middle of November cannot come soon enough!
This is toooooooo cool! In my house I am the Disney junkie, where as my husband is just a reg fan. However his love of Star Wars equals my love of Disney. He knew about this Droid build long before me and has made sure I know he needs to do this when we visit. lol But watching this, I NEED to make one as well!!!!
We have a spot booked for my 6 year old to build his droid in December! He’s SO excited! He loves Star Wars! So fun watching you build yours!

36 days until we arrive at Disney World for our Disneymoon (34 days until our wedding!)... we have droid building booked - and my hubby-to-be is a big Star Wars fan! This video made me 100x more excited to do it too!!!!

Very overwhelming. Took me a solid 45 minutes to get the right combo! The most helpful CM was the girl at the register for the store. She told me how to change the battery and where to turn him off and on and where the personalization chip goes!

Wow! I never realised what an amazing experience it was to make your own droid until I saw your video! Now I have just booked a reservation for my daughter to make her own droid on her birthday as a surprise. will be there in November (week of Thanksgiving) and I already have a reservation to build a lightsaber. but after watching your experience (I have seen others also) I plan to have my kids build droids. thanks for your videos. every time we are there (were there in August for first Halloween party and met Tim Tracker) I always look for you guys to say hi.
I built a first order r6 and I got the package deal $165 for the droid backpack and personality chip. Then at the time we got the annual pass discount of 30%!

We got my son who is 8 a reservation to make one. It's the only thing he wants to do at Disney besides meet baymax which I heard wont be around when we go the 1st week in dec. He is going to be so stoked to see this video:)

Anyone else think to themselves...” leave to Disney to get you to pay extra for something if you were getting it already built they would pay someone a pittance to do in a factory “

Have you played the fun game in the Disney play app? I did! You can hack into different control panels and it will tell you if the resistance has taken it over or you can join the resistance or do first order surveillance on it you can also hack the ships and antennas! You also can complete missions! It’s so fun!

I made a droid last month at passholder preview, and they didn’t have the bag. I even went last Thursday and still no bag for me to get, I keep missing it. I hope one day I’ll catch it in stock..

I have a reservation for December. I am wondering if I go for the extra, extra magic hours in September. Will I be able to just go in and do it then?
When we went. We could have gone during EEMH but we would have still been charged for our later reservation so we just did it when the reservation was good for. But you could probably call Disney that day and have it taken care of.
Hi Josh/Taylor do you know if there will be buses running from Coronado Springs to Hollywood Studios for extra extra magic hours in October around 5am, or is über a better option?

how long does this take if you have a reservation? i only have around a 40 min window as I have a reservation right after this one. would you say thats enough time? how long did it takeyou from the moment you walked in?
I built an R2 unit. It was fun to build but to be honest the quality is iffy. The response time on mine with the remote is very lagging. I think I got a bad remote. Not happy .
My husband wants to build a stupid light saber. Now I have to figure out how to change his mind

I don't know when I'll get around to it, but I DEFINITELY plan on building a droid and a lightsaber! Now that you have your droid, Taylor, when do you and Josh plan on building a lightsaber? And what color blades do y'all plan to get?

What was the total cost? do you plug it in to recharge it? Love the video guys. Did anyone think the cast member helping sounded a little like Minny Mouse?
Total cost a I believe was about $150. That the droid build and the bag.
I want to see you guys build a light saber next, or get a Harry Potter wand as well. I do have one question though. Why pay $50 for that droid backpack? Don't they give you a box to put in when your done?
i love BB-Unit, But when they move. It look like to clumsy. R-Unit are more stable

Probably about 30 mins. Maybe more maybe less. Just depends on you. We took a little longer just trying to enjoy the experience
Disney Land is what it is called but it's okay
At least WDW has the clear/black R2 dome. Disneyland only has them in orange. 🙄 And they STILL don't have any personality chips. 😡
