I'm about to start a similar project with a 75 911s. I'll use this video for help because I've never worked on a car like this before.

Amazing find! I would change the bumpers to the European spec ones, I really don't like the look of the bulky US ones. Possibly refurbish the wheels and get rid of the red paint on them. Also, I'm not crazy about the white/silver the trim around the rear taillights, I would definitely go for black. I look forward to seeing this project completed. Best of luck!

Love these ideas. I’ll have to look into the European bumpers. The wheels will 100% be restored to the black powder coat with the brush finish. And I agree, the silver trim isn’t pretty. Will have to make adjustments. The paint will have to be redone too.

I would say Lee it leaning towards stock… just get it cleaned up and back on the road, sorted out basically.

The case is magnesium… not “inside the case”. Same with the trans case. The rest of the engine (cylinder sleeves, heads, ext) are aluminum… Magnesium and Aluminum expand differently than each other and is the cause of the problems.
Your going to be in a world of trouble if you try to open up that engine, broken head studs for sure.
And I’m not sure what you consider a bad oil leak, but these old Porsches (especially the magnesium ones) always leak oil… if it’s not leaking it’s not running is what I think they say lol.
I know mine leaks really bad, but only for a few seconds on cold starts and when I shut her off. I just keep an eye on my oil level cause I’m not ready at all to drop the motor out lol.

I’m in the process of checking head studs. And so far, they’re pretty close to torque specs.
      Next leak down test.

My 2.7 CIS is in need of a rebuild. Get your wallet out for parts.

I've been researching parts.... It is going to be painful to buy all these parts.
