Palazzo MC - The secret urban refuge in Italy - Corsaro Architetti
The inspiration for the project comes from the desires of the Dutch clients, who were looking for a modern and secret refuge in the heart of the historic center of Cisternino, in Puglia. This 405 m2 residence had to offer the possibility of cultivating their passion for nature and having direct contact with a lush garden.
Through a volumetric subtraction operation at the center of the building, the Corsaro Architetti architecture studio has created a double-height patio surmounted by a large skylight that can be opened as needed.
The project involved a specialist study of the greenery and the central empty space of the patio becomes the heart of the modern renovation. Inside a lush garden which, in a purely urban context, reconnects with nature, creating a microcosm capable of exploiting the natural resources of geothermal energy, solar radiation, air flows and recovered water for the plants, distributing psycho-physical well-being according to the principles of biophilia.
The finishes give the rooms a distinctive identity, creating pleasant, welcoming atmospheres and expressing a unique and fascinating elegance. The project stands out for the synergy between the wise use of natural materials and the careful selection of specific plants. These elements form the foundation of the design, further enriched by modern furnishings and custom-made furniture.
Corsaro Architetti has brought a forgotten building back to life, transforming it into an opportunity to experiment with a new way of conceiving domestic space based on the idea of being immersed in nature in an intimate and universal microcosm at the same time.

Sfida interessantissima e a mio parere ottimo il risultato raggiunto. Lodevole anche il proposito di questi video che rendono visibili interessanti progetti di architetti contemporanei che hanno un approccio concreto e di grande sensibilità verso il contesto. Unica nota stonata, che ovviamente non dipende dai progettisti, sono quei cavi elettrici che ancora volteggiano di facciata in facciata nei nostri amati centri storici. Il progetto è molto bello, a volte togliendo si guadagna.
Unica nota stonata a mio avviso; se alla cucina si accede solo attraverso la camera da letto, io, personalmente avrei fatto il contrario
