God was surely directing me the day he led me to Dr John. I've search the web, listening to many preachers and Pastors over the past two years and found many who are sincere and believe and know the Bible, but none have reached across the screen like John Barnett. The Holman, Scofield, or John MacArthur study bibles are good. The NKJV is an updated version of KJV, changing the thee, thou, and other old English words for modern readability. As you study use a Concordance to see how the words are translated for contextual reference and understanding. Hebrew and Greek are tough to translate to English because each word can mean multiple things depending on the context, which is why there are so many transliterations of the bible, but this is also why there are so many misleading and false versions that add deception and confusion.
If you're saved you have the Holy Spirit. You just need to stop squelching Him and live sensitive to Him by prayer studying God's Word and obedience every single day. The Holy Spirit coming to a believer is not a separate event. It was only separate in Acts because Jesus had been on the earth and left so He sent the Spirit to indwell after to be with all believers thereafter
I was having a look at google play, I downloaded the kjv Macarthur study Bible and bought the hardcover, wise words from our beloved Dr. I checked out some other books / apps on google play. I downloaded a few, Lost Books, Enoch and the Didache. I really, really want you to read the Didache, the teaching of the Lord by the twelve apostles to the Gentiles. I'm not meaning to tell you what to do but it's definitely worth your time. If you're not a reader, it's ok, it doesn't take long to read. Answers to some of your questions you will find here. And repent, love our Father and believe His word. I think, be like Jesus but not be Jesus, and in instances, what would Jesus do. Get to know Jesus, what He did, how He lived, His life, what He says, how He wants us to live, and I know I'm missi g a lot more things, but remember these things. The words you never want to hear when we pass away, "I do not know you". I've always believed, but since following Dr Barnett, I have become closer and have a more understanding, it's amazing, it's exciting especially when things make sense and feels right. Dr Barnetts knowledge and experience would be so much joy and happiness within him which would have influence over people that know him. I would love to shake his hand, probably end up giving him a hug. May God guide you and protect you from all things. There's a lot of channels out there during my searching. We do not work for our salvation, Jesus died and saved the world. But we can work for our protection from the plagues, those coming to steal, kill, and destroy, from deception, to keep a sound mind etc.,for life. There is nothing wrong with works for we are judged on our works. Faith without works is dead. Why would Jesus tell us to pray for workers, if no work is to be done? There is much wisdom in the O.T. just as there is in the N.T.. Our plea to all is to PUT ON LIFE. Let our faith work for us. Jesus, The Son is the seal of God, His Word, His Ten Commandments. He is your anointing, get in Christ. Remember, heart, mind and soul, not just the heart. Turn your faith into a verb and shine the Light. May we learn to 'live' by every Word of God with all that we are, heart, mind and soul. The armour of Light is found throughout the Scripture, this is only the beginning. Remember, all things are possible in Him. Many who sit in pews can spread the gospel, if only they were told how to help their own families, friends and neighbours. To protect and give life to all we know and love. May we open our eyes and minds to accept Jesus as The Word. To spread The Word in both speech and in deed. May we all walk, dwell, and do all we do in Jesus. Don't let evil, the world, overtake our loved ones, our Nation. He will fight for us. He will unite His people. The Law can save us from much more, for He is our miracle worker. Jesus saved us from our sins and now that He is Spirit, our High Priest, and King He can do much more. Walk in Him. We don't need organized religion, we need The Word of God. We need obedience to God and the love of Jesus, our law and testimony. Always use King James Version if possible. Not the N.K.J.V..
