The picture quality is insane - can't believe that it is HD only!

Nice job! Any issues with auto focus? Do you recommend this camera for wedding events, outdoors bright scenes and low light interior shoots?

So far no real issues with auto focus. I know it's not the best but so far so good. Having a good contrast between the subject and the background helps a lot. Outdoors the auto exposure works very well and I like the built in ND filter. Actually got circular polarizer & variable ND filters and they work good too. Because of Covid not really getting the chance to use it a lot on a jobs. It does weigh quite a bit but I usually have it on a tripod so not sure what it would be like for weddings. I guess using a shoulder bracket would solve that problem if moving around. I can't praise the quality of the HD 4:2:2 10 bit enough. Love it for editing as well as shooting. Whilst filming another concert one of two performers on the stage just stood there and I felt I needed to crop them out of the shot so zoomed in during editing. The quality was still brilliant and you couldn't tell I hadn't done that on the original shoot. I've done some tests with the 40x digital zoom using HD and was quite impressed. I've not really pushed it's low light capabilities so don't feel qualified to answer that fully. I did do some basic tests at higher ISO's and it took a while before the noise became a problem. I have filmed a few people talking to camera in small & medium rooms with normal lighting and the camera performed very well using ISO 400. So far I'm very happy with camera.

Did you shoot this interlaced or progressive? What gamma settings? I'm wondering if you could upload some test footage of some graded JLog material, shot progressive @ 24fps (23.976). I'd be curious to see how close you can get this camera to the look of a DSLR or cine camera.

I use progressive and usually 30fps at 1/60. I now have 2 of the cameras. My work is mostly concerts & events. Camera 1 covers the whole stage so that shoots at 4K 422HQ Pro res onto the SSD. The other is used for close ups using 4K 422 10 Bit onto SD card. Gamma is STANDARD. For the wider view, detail is +5 & the close up +3. After seeing some CZcams videos comparing JLog I stayed with the Normal setting. Incidentally on the footage from the wide view it uses a huge amount of space on the SSD. 1 1/2 hours at 30fps fills the 1TB drive. Luckily each camera came with the SSD thrown in. Both drives are used for the wide view on a 2 hour concert. For the really close up views on stage ( keyboard/drums/left view/right view etc) I use 5 GoPros ( Hero 8 ) @ 2.7K and the final edit ( FCPX ) are always 1080p. One problem I have had is with the auto focus and final result when a lot of stage fog is use. Thankfully I'm now able to get the fog reduced substantially but have some footage I'm not happy with. The autofocus in general works pretty good for me.It's excellent in low light. The sharpness / detail is not as good as the DSLR but much more flexible and of course the recording time restriction does not apply to this type of camera.
Using the 4K setting enables zoom in etc in post as I'm only controlling the one JVC 500 at the event. Hope that helps.

@@Videosphere1 Fog on live events can truely become anightmare, especially when high intense color beams go into it and create those very bright light areas.
I observe this even on TV live broadcasts when for a fraction of a second an actors's face gets completely washed out (oversaturated) with the color coming from colored fog.
