Stronghold Crusader 2 is the long awaited sequel to Stronghold Crusader, the original 'castle sim'. After 12 years Stronghold returns to the deserts of the Middle East circa 1189, with a new 3D engine and realistic castle destruction powered by Havok Physics. Stupid, my AI has catapults on top of the hill destroying everything, and archers killing my archers in my tower.. Your AI just derps around and sends their units into your wall...
the updates changed how the ai think in the game after this video so, this video isnt quite going to help anybody now, and i cant figure out for the life of me how to beat it.

I think this video made before updates. Now the map changes, enemy color's is not blue now, and maybe the strategy is different too

in the new version of the game where you can gather pitch near your castle its almost impossible to beat in normal difficulty, he sends like 40 archers at once and you cant possibly repel them that early in the game, sure you have pitch but even if you invest in defenses hes gonna rush your archers with slaves and more archers. also the ai is improved now so you almost cant beat him, had to tone down to easy in order to finish that mission
Use the lord to take damage from the enemy archers and/or kill the archers.

that could work for the archers, what about the slaves that ignore even the archers and go light the buildings on fire, if i do have a wall the catapult will destroy it because i will pull the archers back so they dont get killed by his archers, then the peasants usually just go for the buildings and the lord is waaaay too slow
he actually sends a couple to fight whoever is melee or range and the rest go light buildings on fire
i even waited some time before placing my stockpile so the hostile tent on the left would produce aloot of troops so they could maybe slow down the agression from the slave king, but he mostly ignores them and goes for me
i tried both the heavy economy investment strategy and heavy defense investment strategy, both failed even with pitch production which actually gives quite a bit of money

Victor Popov In case you still did not beat it. I finally managed after about 3 failed attempts. What I did was I bought a lot of wood and produced maximum pitch. I managed to place 11 Pitch Rigs and made a ton of money that I spent on 20-30 arabian archers and a healer which I placed on a grand tower not too close to the mountains as the enemy archers can attack you from there. In the beginning I used apple farms which I then replaced slowly with Wheat farms (while constantly reinforcing the tower defenses with archers and a Whirling Dervish). I then build a thin wall so that the slaves couldn't get through and build a second Grand Tower. I produced some candles as well which I sold. Than I managed to defend the castle easily with roughly 35-40 archers on each Grand Tower. I then produced Beer to raise taxes and recruited 6 or so trebuchets and constantly attacked his food production slowing down his attack frequency. The rest was easy obviously. Once you reach the point where you can replace your fallen archers on the towers while improving your economy at the same time you have done it.

Hm, its a pity, that u cant use the water for anything at all. would be cool, if u could build fishing huts at least or something like that. Maybe small transportboats^^...or build canals for watering deserted ground...that would be cool.

In the current game build the slave drivers are way too op in this scenario. I sweated blood to get 60 archers and 2 towers up but with hoards of slaves they just tanked the whole thing and pickaxed my whole defense down when I forgot to put down new cage dogs for the next wave, that come like every 2 minutes or so... Honestly feeling like cheesing an early game rush is the only way to go.

One Goat sometimes wood walls would be very useful early, they could give you some little defense till you set your stone production up. :)

Have you beaten it yet? I'm stuck on it and have no idea what to do. The slaves come so quickly and obliterate my archers since arabian archers are there to back them up.
Dude, i give u all my trick, first setup merc post, put all ur money on arabian arch +5 bowmen destroy the outpost camp ASAP before they make arab swordsman, and then set all ur unit on high ground top of slaveking mountain. Then u get the high ground.
Then setup ur eco, lots of wood work, apples for early food then go to bread, then make ±15conscrip to block enemy slaves, i put them on top of hill climb (idk what it's called) also i putmy lord there too, so ur arch can kill them from high ground, candles for boost ur popularity
Make 1/2 healer, and 3 oil pot throws and attack ground to make fire wall
I got this trick after frustrated, spending 3 hours on this mission 😂
try play at mission 2020.....normal can pass it
After all the Updates the AI goes straight for my castle I can't beat this mission at all :(

SergiuHellDragoonHQ No it isn't...but I've very easily exploited the attack every 3 seconds fuction by placing a large tower with ~100 archers inside, they can't even touch me :)

I'm probably a bit too late with this comment, but who knows or possibly for some1 else stumbling across it. Just sell all EVERYTHING right away, all food, materials and make a mercenary camp. Train archers and a dozen slaves and rush his base. Take out his archers first and than burn everything down and shoot his melee units from a distance. Once everything is dead and he has no buildings left shoot him a bit till hes low enough and send in your lord to kill him 1v1. Cheese ftw.

This is the strategy I used, medium tower placed somewhat close to the keep, the archers you got place them on the tower and the king on the stairs to protect the archers, set double taxes and double rations, start placing apple trees and then when you start getting enough wood start replacing them with wheat farms 4 of them should be enough along with 4 apple farms, begin bows and spear production 3 of each should be plenty. start creating troops, slave king won't stop sending troops so between waves you will have an opening to send a bunch of archers to stop his stone production, then burn his shit to the ground.
