    I do think most people don’t realize that if you feed an eggnog to a bird, it will give you an egg. Since th nog itself has no spoilage, you can save a stack in a chest for emergency eggs

      I always loved being able to convert eggnog to eggs, and the eggs into free gold at pig king! A very satisfying way to use up a festive inventory clogger

    Fun fact
    If lunar rifts are active gingerbread varg will turn into its lunar variant after dying (I found out about this in very painful way 🤠👍👍👍👍)

    There's some interesting cawnival interactions. Like if you give the birds corn slushes or popcorn, they have special interactions and consume the items.They sleep near fires and say stuff about them. Plus they caw at stuff.

    The trees have a higher chance of giving better things like gems if you use ornaments and decorate them. I’m pretty sure there’s a cooldown to getting a good drop, which means if you got som rare items from a present the next few presents you’re gonna get are filled with charcoal and some treats.

    I actually knew about the exploding gingerbread pigs for a while when I had a afk server on winter's feast. Was wondering what the details of it were.

    While all the edibles dont spoil and make for perfect traps, I find using fruit cake the most satisfying because otherwise it just clogs the chests up

      the hotchocolate cider and eggnog are pretty useful since they have warming and cooling capabilities. for winter and summer.

    Thanks for sharing those tips! I'm always super excited when I see a new video from you. Here are some of my winter's feast observations:
    An interesting thing I discovered about gingerbread pigs: you can sort of manipulate where they place the village and you actually don't have to chase them to make them place it! I have a world with a big base in the Oasis and I decided to turn the adjacent Spider Quarry into a Winter Wonderland area. Every time a gingerbread pig spawned inside the desert I first froze it with an ice staff and positioned myself to chase the pig towards the quarry. Once the pig was inside the quarry I'd just stand in place and let it disappear. Every time it disappears from your area of view, it teleports somewhere close in a random direction. It will do it 3 times and the 4th teleport ends up in a village/varg spawn. So when I position it where I want it to be generally, I either stand still or run in the opposite direction of it to speed up the teleport. Then following the cookie crumb trail will lead you to the next position easily - from there repeat it until you get it spawn something. Instead of a lengthy chase that can last for half a day you deal with it in a matter of seconds. If I don't want it to spawn things and just want some festive cheer, I freeze it then kill, or shoot a blow dart at it before it starts running away.
    I had another interesting experience in that world - playing with endless full moons post CC and still wanting presents for unique ornaments! So I had to set it up in the caves. Sleeping under tents underground can be tricky but it still works! You can sleep in the caves at any time of the day but turns out you will still get presents only if you sleep at night, just like on the surface. It can be tough to set up though since presents will only drop if you sleep in pitch darkness. Setting up a tent by a cave entrance is a bad idea if you plan to come down at night - the circle of light that appears when you load underground will prevent presents from dropping. It needs to be in complete darkness so away from lightbulbs and away light shafts. You can't walk there with a light source on either because it won't turn off when you enter the tent. What works for me is: setting up an area that is always lit up with something like a mushlight, then releasing a firefly close to that area in pitch darkness where the tent will be placed, then building the tent right on top of the firefly. This way you can still click "Sleep in Tent" in pitch darkness but firefly will go out when you sleep and it won't mess with gift drop mechanics. It can also be tricky to figure out when night time happens underground. You can only see day/night clock in sunken forest areas right by cave entrances or in natural light shaft areas, but if you sleep away from those you can use penned creatures to figure out when it's night time. When they go to sleep, so can you! Rabbits and beefalos work the best for me, although beefalos are easier to notice because they are big and make distinct noises, and they last longer because they can regen all health lost from earthquakes.

    I think something worth pointing out is that fruitcake has legitimate use if you are wurt since it is nice merm king and merm food. 6 Hunger is not a lot but its more than normal treats and it doesnt spoil so if you have a bunch of fruitcake from varg farming or tree gifts it can be a nice bonus.

      @Zanollo5 Most advanced players don't use sleeping items due to you needing to wait for an extended period of time. So I believe that by what this guy is saying, it is "underrated."

    Is it faster for ending the gingerbread chase to follow the gingerbread pig continuously, or scare it off, walk a bit in the other direction, and then back towards it again?
    Does chasing it extent it’s need to run and create distance for another node in the minigame, thereby delaying it?

    • @Sustenance_
      @Sustenance_ Před 7 měsíci

      The pig needs to get a certain distance away from the player (less than the normal despawn range) before it disappears. You can chase it forever (maybe just until it explodes) if you never let it get far enough away.
