Excellent reviews Richard love the channel refreshing the see a honest reviews thanks
Thanks very much Daniel. Plenty more to come!
Thanks for the review Richard. Fancied one for a while. After watching the review I've bought one.
Glad we could help Lance. I hope you like it, I certainly did! Thanks for watching.
I really fancied one of these since the Mk 1 came out, the Mk2 seems to have removed the few quibbles that reviewers had with it without compromising it's unarguable good looks. Gotta love a manufacturer that improves their product when they hear criticisms. Also like the fact that the mags are only twenty quid (the new Daystate mags are seventy pounds!!!). Might have to have a look in the old piggy-bank, a very tidy piece for out and about on the farm.
Another great review there Richard, all the info and no fluff.
Thanks very much David. Check down the back of the sofa too!
@@alphamilitaria2756 😁Will do Richard!
Sounds like Zbroia have really upped their game! The Kozak long really floats my boat so will wait for your report Richard👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You won't have to wait long Alan! We're editing it now so should be on here in the next few days. I liked to Hortitsia mk1, but the mk 2 is a step up. Thanks for watching.
First time here. Great job 👍. Greetings from Portugal. keep up with the good work
Another very good review, lovely gun thanks 👍
Thanks very much Kevin.
Great video Rich, thanks. I love the finish on its stock and impressed with the accuracy, it shoots way above its price point doesn’t it.
Thanks very much John. It certainly does...
A darned nice little rifle for general purpose hunting and plinking.
Just got around to using my Vevor compressor and filling the Hortitsia to 250 Bar.
Love it, accurate, easy to look after, reliable and good to handle.
Excellent shooting, really do like the compact styling of this rifle. Thanks for posting the review.
Thanks very much for watching and taking the time to comment.
Thanks for reviewing this interesting airgun Richard 👍. For the called price this is an excellent offer 🌟
Thanks for watching Gernot. And yes, a great gun, especially at that price.
Hi Richard, that was some really great shooting there my man, I've had my eye 👁️ on this rifle for quite a time now and every time I see another review it just reenforces what I've always thought about this rifle, it's outstanding. I think you could match that up against any top class rifle I believe it would hold it's own and makes an excellent hunting rifle I would say rather than a target 🎯 or something else, that's it's fortae, very stylish and sleek great value. Thanks for the video atvb Dave
You're very welcome David, and thanks for taking the time to comment. And I agree, an excellent hunting rifle with some great improvements over the mk 1. Thanks for watching.
Superb review really good.
Thanks very much Ian...
250 BAR is my standard fill for my Hortitsia (MK1). It's extraordinarily efficient. I'm getting approximately 60 shots in my .22 FAC/export version. Max power listed on the block is 30J.
Ordered mine today can’t wait.
I'll bet Tom. Nothing like counting down the hours until a new rifle arrives! Have fun.
@@alphamilitaria2756 I’ve just subscribed. Amazing channel.
Liked the look of the mk1 since I saw it on the Airgun show, Perfect for Rats and squirrels.
Hi Richard.Great review and good to see they have made improvements.
Cracking little rifle for the money!
Interested to see what the Mk2 Kozak is like too?
Atb and look forward to more reviews👍🏻
Thanks very much Justin. The Kozak review should be coming up soon.
@@alphamilitaria2756
Fantastic.Really stuck as to what rifle to buy next😂😂
Thanks again.
Looks good 👍
👍👍👍 Mr Saunders!!!!! Great show as always.
I have the Hortitsia.177 mk1
I absolutely love it.
On the side of the cylinder it states a max working pressure of 300bar and tested to 400bar.
A dive bottle won’t pay out 300bar but a good pump or compressor will.
I fill mine to 250bar and I’ve had no issues. Mine really like jsb exacts.
All the best 👍👍
Thanks very much Mathew. Yes, I understand you can fill up to 300 bar. I think 250 is more sensible too. How many shots do you get? And do you have 200 or 230cc cylinder?
44 joule version, 300 bar fill. Without any problems. 30 accurate schots. 282 mps.
@@sandervandijk2373 Thanks Sander. Are you filling from a bottle? How many times do you manage to get a full 300 bar charge?
Apologies on such a late reply. For reasons best known to itself, my phone has stopped my CZcams notifications.
The cylinder is a 180cc.
I’m pretty sure there was only 2 sizes on the mark 1’s.......
330.-180cc (330 being the barrel)
420-230cc
I could be wrong on this information, but I’m pretty sure I’m right.
I was at the field target range yesterday and I got 130ish shots from 250bar down to 20bar.
If you check out “big Dan’s gun reviews” on the mrk 1 Hortitsia he does a full shot count from a 300bar fill With the chrono.
Hope this is helpful
All the best! 👍👍
@@mathewturnock1718 The first generation of Hortitsia had 3 types: 330/180, 450/220 and 550/220
Good flll port design, saves nicking your o rings on the cover cap if it's slightly miss aligned.
Just got mine today. Very nice carbine. All I had time to do is wax the black stock with pure beeswax and then lock it away. Certainly different from waxing oak furniture. All I am lacking now is an air supply, oh, and put up a backstop.
Looking forward to your review on the Sapsan.
Working up to it Heath!
Hi Richard. Great review. After watching you and Matt Manning shooting the Hortitsia I'm seriously impressed with this rifle. Will you be reviewing any of their bullpups?
Thanks very much. We have a review of the Kozak mk 2 coming up very soon.
Looks a nice rifle. Finding the best suited pellets for the rifle may also improve the accuracy even more.
Looks a nice cheaper end rifle worth buying 👍
Good review-thanks. I tried to order one of these last year from Pelpax and he wouldn't sell them due to very poor quality control, unreliability and "new stock" arriving already almost a year old. He was returning them to the factory. Hopefully that's all sorted as it seems to be an excellent rifle when sorted
Thanks very much. They have the new mk 2 in stock and are selling them now...
Gutted they don't do left-hand always wanted one
Another great review Mr Saunders. Yes, that push/pull lever is a bit of a deal breaker on a nice rifle otherwise. Interesting name!
Thanks very much. I found myself loving the straight pull bolt to be honest, though my finger was a bit tender after a couple of hours shooting on the range! Thanks for watching.
For me the bolt action is something I'd be buying it for... I tried and liked the cocking action on a MK1 but this looks even better. Horses for courses I guess.
@@James28R Yes, I'm sure that is possible. Only really an issue if you are shooting long periods, and then only a minor one at that.
@@James28R I think it's intended as a hunting rifle, it's definitely not a range gun, so if you're shooting enough bunnies or rats to hurt your finger cocking it then it's time to get a machine gun😉
Thanks for that Richard, nice review as always. Really like that rifle but even though I'm right handed I have to shoot with my left eye. Real shame that this is only right handed.
It is a shame Jason. Hopefully Zbroia will realise that soon. Thanks for watching.
Hi nice review and a great gun for the money but i'm affraid it can be double loaded if you don't pull the bolt fully out when cocking.
Would love to see a review on a uragon compact 👍
Hi Richard,
Have only discovered your here after watching you on The Shooting Show ...
PellPax are saying that 0.22 = 10 Shots & 0.177 is 12 shots ... ?
Keep up the great channel ...
😀
Hello Deano - thanks for tracking us down on Alpha Militaria too! Yes, 10 shots in .22 and 12 in .177. I may have said something different in the vid (there's always too much to remember!) which is why we started including the 'Technical Information' boxes - 06:26. Best wishes for the new year and please come and visit again.
@@alphamilitaria2756 No problem Richard ... appreciate your content very enjoyable ... I'm only just returning back to shooting after some years away, would appreciate a review on the new Gamo x10 shot swarm varmint break barrel ... ?
I think not being available for lefties is reasonable compromise for this quality to price combination from the manufacturer standpoint. I think it's better that not everybody will buy it but those who will - will be 100% satisfied with their purchase.
Always loved this rifle , ever since the MK1 came out .. I would DEFINITELY have had one ages ago .. BUT .. im a leftie .. ( not politically ) seems even with the MK2 we've been overlooked ... this one looks better as well , and with the snazzy fill probe collar .. well ... maybe the MK3 eh?
Mrs says i can buy it for her though ..
Its not fair is it Mark? Perhaps the missus will let you have a go anyway!
I had an email conversation with someone from zbroia and they stated that the max comfortable pressure would be around 250bar and the min working pressure for the regulator is around 100bar. That's in the sub 12footpound version anyway.
Thanks Harry.
Seen more expensive rifle do worse than that. Nice rife for that price. 👌like to see how the FAC power does. ...
I notice that, that trigger appears to be quite well set back as well which unless I'm just misjudging it from seeing it on vid instead of handling it , shows real consideration for the shooter has gone into this.
Have ordered one exactly the same as the one demonstrated so ably above. Liked the fact the two extra magazines only cost £20 each, something far fairer than many other manufacturers spare magazines cost.
I'm sure you won't be disappointed Stephen. Have fun.
Thank you, if your review is anything to go by I am going to enjoy it very much. Again thank you for the work you put in. It is much appreciated.
Hi Richard, Thankyou for another honest, great revue. Is there any explanation to this?? The Air Arms Ultimate Sporter reg, costs £1,000.25. A fantastic air rifle. This air rifle is around a third of the price, and from your revue, with great respect to Air Arms, looks as good, if not better, for a big percentage of the total cost cheaper. This looks a fantastic, accurate, well made air rifle, for less than £400! Gosh!!
I'd love to know your opinion Richard. Thankyou, Ian.
Hi Ian. Now there's a question! Let me try and answer by first saying that both are excellent rifles. You pick out the S510 R, but you could pretty much identify any premium brand. Funnily enough, I have just finished a feature for Airgun Shooter magazine that looks at the topic of whether we need to spend getting on £2000 for a rifle when there are products that cost much less and are just as accurate. I think there are many factors and without being flippant, one of the most important is the X-factor you get when you pick up top of the line product that comes from all the little things being done a little bit better. For sure I think that in some cases you are paying a premium for a brand but that's because premium brands have earned the right to charge more if they have a long track record and tradition of producing quality products. I think it is also fair to say that more expensive products generally speaking have a level of engineering sophistication and quality of finish that cheaper products do not have despite their ability to put pellets in the right place. You could say that an old Ford will get you down the shops as well as a top of the range BMW - the end result is the same but the experience is different. I think the other point I should make is the longevity of premium brands where the quality of engineering and internal parts often means such rifles will outlast cheaper products. In other words, you are more likely to experience more issues with a cheaper rifle over an extended period of time than a premium one - that's not always the case, and there are plenty of budget rifles still going strong, but I think on balance its true. I was with a friend of mine not long ago who had to disassemble a budget rifle - I won't give the brand away - that performed brilliantly. When we looked inside though the components looked like they had been made from old coke cans! Of course, every now and then you get a budget rifle that defies logic and proves to be the exception that makes the rule. Possibly the Hortitsia is one of those. I hope that helps, but not sure! Rich.
@@alphamilitaria2756 Hi Richard. Wow! What a fantastic, thought through considered answer. I'd like you to know, I'm very grateful, you've put all effort into answering my question. I'm delighted with your answer, and your opinion/viewpoint makes complete sense.
Thankyou Richard. Very best wishes, Ian.
@@ianwoods1384 Thanks very much Ian. Its very nice of you to say so. Have a great weekend.
I’ve ordered mine in .177 and eager to take it to the club range. Know for a fact no other member has one and feel sure it will get some interest from the FX, Weihrauch and Air Arms shooters. Even my Kral NP-02 gave these expensive guns a run for their money, so I’m confident the Zbroia will at worst match the big boys!
I'm sure it won't let you down Kevin!
Just another observation you where right about the cocking action, it is rather stiff , my finger is sore after about 5 mags ,hopefully it might free up after more use , 😁👍
How are you finding the Hortitsia other than that Phillip?
@@alphamilitaria2756 not bad ,in my garden range witch is only 17 yards its pellet on pellet, off to the range tomorrow to stretch it's legs , and try to sort out the trigger, carnt get a first stage , and it feels mushy, I'll have a tweak see if i can get it more to my likeing, think I've been spoiled by the rifles i already have, a s200, s400, and a ultimate sporter, all brilliant triggers, 😁👍
@@phillipsharpe6459 Those are tough acts to follow!
Sorted out the trigger, took some twiddling but got there, not bad first stage ,nice stop and crisp let off , 😁👍
Everything I want in a pcp. All they would have had to do is extend the momte carlo stock to both sides and make the handle reversible. Oh well, I'll keep looking.
Hey bud great review again like all ways I think i found my rifle :) what you think as a all round ? Your advise means alot to me after reading your rifle reviews on your web page. . I cant decide between .22 and .177
Thanks very much. Honestly, I think that for the money the Hortitsia mk2 is about the best all round rifle out there. Light, compact, quiet and very accurate with great shot count. My preference for sub 12 ft lbs is .177, unless I plan mainly on shooting rats, then I go for .22 with a 20m zero. Have fun choosing!
@@alphamilitaria2756 Hi Richard 👋 I hope you doing well I just received my Hortitsia I need mounts and bipod I've checked your site but need suggestions which ones will be great to use. Thank you in advance buddy
@@Nnsane Hi. That's great. I'm sure you'll like the rifle. The sling stud is a bit of a weird one. You'll need to tighten up a hex nut inside the stud to push out the bearings in order for it to tighten up on the inside of the hole. In terms of mounts, you'll need 22mm picatinny mounts for the size of your scope tube (usually 25mm or 30mm) and high enough to ensure the objective lens clears the barrel, but only just. If you can let me know what scope you have I can recommend some specific products. In terms of bipod, there are lots on the market, including some cheap Chinese versions of established designs. I'd recommend one that will tilt so you can ensure your rifle is level even on uneven ground. I've always found the Harris style 6-9 inch bipods do everything I need. We have a couple of Konus products on sale in the shop alphamilitaria.com/category/accessories/. I hope that helps. Enjoy the rifle!
@@alphamilitaria2756 you are a living legend 🙌 when I brought the rifle they chucked in a hawke fast mount 9×40 scope with it. I will read your page once again if you have the products I'm willing to buy from you then anyone else. Thabk you so much once again

The fill pressure is 250bar not 300 but best at around 220 good shot count as well.
No, it's 300 bar. Cylinders are tested to 495 bar. But I agree that 250 is more practical to work from.
Heard from Zbroia in Kharkiv today. Apparently everyone is safe and they released some product videos today here on CZcams.
That is good news. Thanks for letting us know...
Apparently the cylinder is tested to 495 bar , personally i wouldn't put more than 250 bar in , but whatever floats your boat, 😁👍
Wish I never sold mine :-(
Just a question you might know, how to take the stock off the hortensia, i can't find anything on the net , hope you can help, thanks, 😁👍
Great question Phillip. Its not immediately obvious is it? I would imagine it involves removing the air cylinder first. I'll try and find and let you know for sure.
@@alphamilitaria2756 thanks 😁👍
I've found out how to take the trigger unit out ,there's a Allen bolt at the back of the trigger guard, and another one witch is in where the magazine fits you have to take the scope off and there is a hole in the scope rail to get to the bolt ,with both out the trigger unit drops out ,quite a strange thing but works well, still trying to figure out how the stock comes off , if i do I'll let you know, 😁👍
@@phillipsharpe6459 Hi Phillip. Arthur Bradshaw, another viewer passed this on (although it sounds like you've worked it out for yourself already!). Thanks Arthur!
"I watched your review on the above air rifle and it inspired me to buy it and i am so glad i did - a brilliant gun at an affordable price!
In your review on the you-tube channel in the comments column beneath the video, a person asked how to remove the stock?
You remove the allen bolt to the rear of the trigger guard and then the allen bolt accessible via a small access hole in the trigger guard - this releases the trigger mechanism which you then remove.
Holding the butt of the stock and gripping the gas cylinder / barrel gently pull apart."
Overall length please pal , nice review, 😁👍

Unfortunately I no longer have the rifle and can't remember. Guessing there has to be a stock bolt underneath? Perhaps an owner can come on here and enlighten us both.
Go down through the hole in the top of the rail with appropriate size Allen key 😉
It can be filled safely to 300bar...😉
Makes you wonder how BSA stay in business. Yet another R10 failure on a friend's rifle yesterday. Zbroia obviously take criticism seriously, whereas BSA go to periscope depth and ignore their ever dwindling customer base. Yes I'm knocking one of our famous British brands. It's out of anger and sadness. This is the way they disappear, through poor aftermarket service and careless quality control. Good God we must be better than this!
I've got a mk2 R10 and an R10 SE. They are the most reliable rifles I have. The SE is relatively new, but I've had the mk 2 for five or six years and it was bought second hand. It's one of the few rifles I own of quite a few that has never had a problem.
Red butt spacer is sticking out, says all i need to know about how the rest of it is built, poor qc
Have you shot one? Or even seen one? Because basing the quality of a rifle on the spacer is ridiculous.
You said it was quiet but sounds quite loud when you was shooting it. I like your vids you give good detail but I feel you gloss over problems or drawbacks on the guns you review . If this is down to who you get the guns on loan from I would suggest being more open about the rifles. Like the rm8 review you failed to mention that the rm8 is prone to moisture in the air tank. The trigger is a little unpredictable and has random moments where you get creep from the tiger instead on firing the shot. And it's not a true walther barrel . By that I mean it's not the match grade barrels that go on on all their other guns .in fact kral and hatsan use the same equipment as walther to make the same standard barrel that is on the rm8 .. the gamo gx40 review was much the same ..the gx40 is good but the gamo trigger needs work. a longer adjustment screws does the job in this case but you don't even mention it .. and this goes on throughout a lot of your reviews it feels like you won't say anything negative to avoid the rifle getting a bad rep and not selling in the store who loaned you the rifle to review ..
Hi Ray.
Thanks for the feedback. The Hortitsia is quiet. Perhaps you had to be there.
I don't understand how you can say I gloss over problems simply because I didn't mention things that you think are problems/faults. 'Glossing over' is acknowledging something and paying it lip service. Have you considered that I didn't call out the things you did because I didn't see them as problems?
Moisture in RM8 tanks for example. I didn't mention that because I don't know it is an issue, have never heard of it being an issue and had no way of verifying if it is an issue. So why would I mention it? Surely you wouldn't expect me to repeat things others have said before?
I also found the trigger on the Gamo and the RM8 to be be fine. So why then would I criticise, or 'gloss over' them?
Clearly you believe there are problems with some of the rifles I reviewed. And that's fine - it is after all subjective and my opinion is worth the same as yours: nothing. But don't call into question my integrity and imply I am in the pocket of the companies whose products I review. I call it as I see it.
You clearly have views on air rifles. Why don't you start your own channel and share your insight and expertise with others?
@@alphamilitaria2756 I admit my comment could of been worded slightly I did not call into question your integrity or accuse you of being in someone's pocket . "I said so it does not affect sales in store or for the people that loaned you the gun" . Those are two very different things. Secondly the rm8 moisture issue it is very well know that they are prone to getting hot even with a pump. 5 mins of internet searching shows that .. Like I said maybe wording is off a little as it was more a observation on your vids I have watched them all btw and you do a great job well made and good info .especially for new shooters But I do feel some of the negatives are missed out in the case of the zabroia it appears to be a right handed stock ..(Not mentioned )If it is or not . just things like this slipping through the cracks is what I'm talking about ..
@@RaysTwoPence 02:40 - I explain that the Hortitsia stock is dedicated right hander only with no left hand option. Perhaps you were distracted looking for 'cracks'?
I have no experience of moisture in the RM8 bottle. We use RM8s as club rifles, and have done for the last two years without issue. I also use a Walther Reign and find it to be an excellent little rifle.
As I said, I'm not into regurgitating what other people have said about a rifle. And I really don't care whether a gun sells or not based on my opinion - in fact I think it would be incredibly conceited of me to think that my approval or disapproval of a rifle would matter a commercial jot. My reviews are my own, based on my own experience and my own opinion, not others'.
At the end of the day, its an opinion.
Stopped watching at the point where you said they don’t do left handed stocks, if rifles were made for say men only woman would be the first to make a load of noise saying that’s sexist! So if gun makers don’t make rifles for us lefties what’s that called, tough nuts! I had to learn to shoot right handed when I was in the army and everything always seemed cack handed and never felt natural. So they gave me the GPMG which weirdly felt natural from shooting from the right, I could hit things quite easily after that!!!
If it was for everyone then it wouldn't be this cheap or wouldn't have this manufacturing quality, because lefties is a much smaller market, so producing and distributing another variant of this product just for 10% of their possible buyers doesn't seem reasonable decision if you want to optimize quality/price.
You know this is due to economics and not discrimination. Its like most shoe companies dont make shoes in 1/4 size increments of have the same shoe but slightly different shapes to account for bunions. They produce for the broadest common dominators.
