    What are some questions you have about Linkedin OR what are some of your biggest struggles while job searching?

      Stacy Jene I had the chance to land on couple interviews but in the end the position either gets filled or rejected. How can I improve?

    • @StacyJene
      @StacyJene  Před 4 lety +6

      @@hetdesai_ Great question- you're definitely not alone in this experience. Here are a few tips:
      1) In your email responding to the rejection, thank them for their time and ask if they have any feedback for your interview/if there is anything you can improve for future interviews. They may not respond, but it never hurts to ask! If they do, you'll have valuable information on how to do better next time.
      2) If you don't feel confident before/during the interview, make sure you're thoroughly writing down and practicing all of your answers beforehand. Here is a great article on how to do that: www.indeed.com/career-advice/interviewing/top-interview-questions-and-answers
      3) When it comes to practicing, it's always better to do it with another person than by yourself. If you need someone to do a mock interview with, I can help you with that one-on-one (If you want! No pressure)
      4) Perhaps most importantly, try not to take it too hard- even though it may not feel like it, the hiring decision is completely out of your control. Remember to stay confident and trust you'll find the right place soon :)
      I hope this helped! Might also make a video on this soon.

    Very to the point. Would just add that if you don't have work experience as a fresh graduate, focus on your skillset, degree, language skills, relevant coursework and anything else you developed while at university. Basically focus on all the things that you already have. Good employers just want to see that you have the attitude and foundational skillset to develop your skills further at their company, not work experience.

    Hey , I know I'm probably using LinkedIn in the wrong way .
    So I'm a grade 12 student and I was attracted to LinkedIn as you can use it as tool for networking , so my genius mind thought that networking= friends . I realised that's not the case at all as I've had connections in colleges I wanted to get into it but I have no idea how to interact with them nor do I know what's the limit as for example there was this guy in a college X so I wanted to get into college X so I asked him a question and he was happy to answer then I asked him again and he answered and by the third time he just stopped replying.
    So my question is how do I use it as a (almost graduating) High school student and how do I interact with my connections ( as I'm not looking for a job , maybe an internship after my finals )

    My biggest struggle (so far) on LinkedIn is, I want to post something. But I keep on cancelling because I don't know if it's appropriate or not (since LinkedIn is a profesional platform).
    I make content on TikTok and Instagram. So I was thinking on sharing about "how I decided to start making content" or "My process on making a content". Things like that. But I'm only an Undergraduate student (next January will be my last semester), so is it appropriate for me to post things like that?

    • @HotDiceMiniatures
      @HotDiceMiniatures Před 3 lety +2

      Depends on if you want to attract employers looking for "content creators". If not, it will be a huge turn off as "side hustles" are generally thought of as a bad thing for employers.

    I am only in my first year of studies and may be overthinking this because of extreme anxiety, but a challenge for me so far is that it's difficult to reach out to anyone in my prospective industry because everyone appears merely as LinkedIn Member, even the alumni at my college.
    It feels like a catch 22: to reach people you're interested in, you need to grow your network, but you can't grow your network because everyone's privacy settings are tuned to the extreme. :-/

    • @StacyJene

      If you're not seeking job opportunities, you can put your current position in your headline- "Student at (school name) Studying/Specializing in (area of focus)"! Let me know if you have any other LinkedIn questions :)

    • @bju1
      @bju1 Před rokem +1

      Yeah, that's definitely way too much. You probably want about 15 things at most, although 5-10 would be best.
