Pickaso Guitar Bow - the new patent pending accessory that transforms any acoustic guitar into a bowed instrument using a magical, creative method! www.pickasobow.com
Received this yesterday. It is NOT a gimmick or toy. I'm a serious musician (as you can tell from my profile and channel). This implement allows a world of new possibilities without ever having to put down my favorite guitar. Thank you!
Got one a couple weeks ago, and getting some good results with it. Going for a slower strings style which I thought might be a challenge given the length, but double tracking and a bit of reverb and delay is producing some lush sounds.
Also they threw in quickly some Page riffs. Very cool item, but why trying to imitate other instruments ? The whole idea is to create unheard of sounds, not oh, Cello, 3/4 there, violin 2/3 there. Each to their own, I guess. It’s like a pretty good synth workstation getting 75% of a Hammond B-3.
@@johnsmits2494 How about someone just wanting to enjoy playing some strings without any other facility to do so? Are you just a killjoy or what? Not everyone is an ‘artist’. Most of us just admire and crave the abilities to make these sounds. I , for one, am thrilled by this tool. Just ordered one 5 mins ago.
I just bought a duplicate of a dreadnought model I already own because I love it so much. A Tak with a cedar top, and I want to use this new one just for alternate tunings. If I wanted to try and dedicate this guitar just to the bow for a month or two, what are the best kind of strings to use with it? Super heavy? If so, I would probably tune it down a full step.
Hmm, is it too thick to be used on a grand piano? Seems like a fabulous way to get bowed piano sound quickly without the hassle of building a pseudo-bow out of fishing line.
Would it work with electric guitar, if there was a hole that goes through to the back? I have a very solid guitar with a neck humbucker that's mounted on a pickguard. It would be quite easy to remove it and make the cavity deeper.
As someone who always wanted to play a violin but it's difficult to learn. Started small with a ukulele hoping to shift to a guitar, I definitely want to use it someday.
Flat wound should make no difference as the high 2 strings aren’t wound. I would wonder about coated strings though, if it would wearing of the coating or the rosin wouldn’t grab the coating.
Just got it yesterday, and it is going to take some work. The website doesn't say how much or how long to rub on rosin - just "lightly." It squeaked and squeaked and couldn't sustain notes without sounding like a tortured cat. Once I rubbed on some D'addario string lubricant it sounded better, but the bow itself has smooth and squeaky parts to it. Bow on the wrong segment and it becomes awful again. Slow notes don't sound as good as quickly bowed notes.
Hi That’s because your strings are probably coated please check our online user guide. www.pickasobow.com/pages/user-guide And if any further help needed feel to contact us at support@pickasobow.com
I'm glad to see some people seem to genuinely like the product and find it useful, but for me this would be an absolute waste of time. I have no desire to play my guitar in a fashion that makes it sound like a violin. As long as it took me to become proficient in guitar, I could have easily spent that time to learn to play the violin if that's the sound I wanted. And if I ever want that sound in my band, I'll just hire someone who can play the violin or fiddle!
I really wish it cut to Jimmy Page playing the bow at Prince Albert Hall when they said "Let's see how guitar player who never met this product before experience it for the first time"
I'm not a guitar gadget guy. Most are cheap and flimsy and most are a crutch especially for new players. But THIS, along with my E-Bow which has stood the test of time, is a keeper. I don't really use the pick end. They even have replacement synthetic hairs on their web page. One thing you need to be aware of is that it does not work with coated strings. Try it out. I thought it was totally worth it.
Hi, if the bow doesn’t work for you on the lower strings you probably using coated strings (Like elixir) . As explained on our website, coated strings are not suitable . If you have any questions, please contact us at office@pickasobow.com 😊
This would be an amazing invention, if they had never invented the violin. But as it produces sounds far inferior to a violin and is much more difficult to play to get a full range of notes than a violin. I can’t imagine any serious use of this in a performance setting. For recording, it could be useful to get unique sound out of a guitar I imagine. It would be better to have this device with three prongs so you could play three strings at the same time.
This is begging to be used through a mountain of delay and reverb
🤣 and no doubt auto tune #2022
I agree. I want to hear it with fx
yes and yes. i get a decent sound from my mel9 + distortion, but the attack isn't quite right. this bow could bring it all together
Why didn't they tune their demonstration guitar before the shoot?

Subbed 2 ur channel. Unreal bud
Now you just need 20 guitar players and you'll have an orchestra
A creation straight out of the 13th century. The Cantigas de Santa Maria show vihuelas d’arcos being played with such a stick, in the 1200s !

I don't know how much I would use this, but it's definitely very cool!
I would LOVE to play the Halo theme with this

Question is how does it do with longer slower notes or are staccato notes the main use?
Wish it was thinner. I’d love to use it on my pedal steel.

How durable is the bow? How many hours before fibers(hairs) need replacing ?
i imagine the lower guitar strings are pretty rough on it
this is awesome!
Will the bow wear out after some time? Thanks
Join /clip 3 together at the holding end and you can play all six strings or two and four strings
I want this love it

just do it! it's not easy but it's not as hard as you might think.

Cool..!!! thunderstrack by ACDC like violín
Does this work on Flatwound Strings on a Hollow Body?
How hard is it to play melodies at medium swing which require switching strings often??
Flat wound should make no difference as the high 2 strings aren’t wound.
I would wonder about coated strings though, if it would wearing of the coating or the rosin wouldn’t grab the coating.
Can this be used on nylon string oud
Will someone mention the twosetviolin channel?
Are they safe to use on acoustic basses ?
Yes! Same as acoustic guitar.
Does this leave rosin on the strings?????
will work on nylon strings?
How does it sound on nylon strings?

Bought it. Done. Done
Does it work with nylon strings or only steel?
A violin can have nylon or steel strings so I’m guessing this could work on either
@@martianmurray no.
probably only steel
It does... Don't listen to these people
Probably needs violin resin for nylon
Do u sell it in Israel as well?

Electric guitars don't have a sound hole, so not really. A regular bow would probably be more suitable in this case.

I really wish it cut to Jimmy Page playing the bow at Prince Albert Hall when they said "Let's see how guitar player who never met this product before experience it for the first time"
Did I see two screws on the fretboard?!
That and the fretboard needs some cleaning/conditioning...
This bow with a Tonewood Amp would be an interesting acoustic setup

Thanks but I play the violin and the acoustic guitar. I'll resin my bow and go to it.
Can't be played on a solid body electric. Or a 12 string acoustic, well it can but you won't be able to touch the other strings.
