Mixed in Key changed everything for me back in the day. Playing in the clubs, i found you shouldn't treat it as gospel but, certainly found you could lift the room by mixing in a track in the next key (to the right of the wheel) to "lift" the room (just like a key change in the bridges/chorus' of records do). Similarly, you can bring the vibe down with some movement to the left of the wheel.
Where I would use it more religiously was with making demo mixes and pre-recorded radio shows where, I had time to be selective and plan the set before recording and it certainly made things much more seamless. It also is a great tool to take the guess work out of which tracks will mash-up well.
I'm glad you've touched on mixing in key as I think it is overlooked by a lot of DJs.
Love the channel mate, see you in the bar soon!

I used mixed in key for a long time, and still do. but for creating perfect mixes that are harmonized, use Mashup. made by the same people at mixed in key. you will be amazed sometimes at the songs it finds. just go down the list until you find something that has the same harmonics. the program itself, i don't use. they brought this out years ago, and its very bad, they never updated it. but for harmonics it's spot on. just drag n drop the matching song into your dj program. this will teach your ears to be perfectly harmonised to spot amazing mixes just by ear.

Interesting- I know traktor/native instruments used to use M’s for minor keys and D’s for major keys so likely that would be a 10a. If it were a 10d that would be a 10b on the standard wheel.
