0:36 the voice actor "shouted" Goetia like he was recording the line in his apartment in the middle of the night and didn't want to disturb the neighbors.
I feel this is oddly common with western dubbing. Which is weird since the same actors seem to happily shout their lungs out for a good performance when making western content? One day I'd like to learn why this is a thing.

It’s really kinda disappointing. Like in the Japanese version, that shit is raw as fuck. It’s supposed to be, he’s just lost two of his most important people and he’s so pissed that he stops giving a shit who he’s fighting. Meanwhile, the English version is…that. Ugh
Its annoying taking into account how freaking good that part is on the jp version, the scream is amazing but in the dub it feels so hollow.
And people still praise them. I'm proud of him for making it into the voice acting industry, but he should take notes from the greatest performers. I hate to be brutal about my opinion but there's just so many like him that don't do as good a job as the jp voice actors...

Ritsuka (Gudao) from "Ritsuka Doesn't Get It" VS Tsukari (Gudako) from "Learning With Manga."
My takeaway from this is…wow the dub voice for Ritsuka managed to bring about 25% of the intensity that face was asking for.
Gudako on the other hand was spot on!
The dub was great til that moment and then it turned into a fucking abridged show for just a second 😂
It sounded like he went from speaking English (US) to English (UK) for a second there.
Yeah they gave up when they heard the Japanese voice actor kill it
I don't hate dub.
But if you google that Fujimaru scene in Japanese, you'll find that you got chills for a reason that isn't cringe. Again, respect to the actors, but when someone else performs it better, it's hard not to compare

I dunno… Female Ritsuka from the Grand Carnival is still a sillier version. Perhaps the best media I’ve seen with Female Ritsuka was in the Shimousa Epic of Remnant manga.
That one I felt was the perfect fusion of having silly moments while also showing her to be brave, plucky, and competent as hell.
Well the only duality i see: One is Sad but Horny and the Other is Crazy but also Horny
