First Kinkisharyo P3010 begins service on the Blue Line

- The first Kinkisharyo P3010 was placed into service on the Metro Blue Line on the morning of May 1, 2017. More new cars will be added to the line as they become available. The new cars will gradually replace the light rail cars that have been operating on the line since its opening in 1990.

They didn’t really retired in August of 2018. If they didn’t reach 1 millions miles yet. Plus they temporarily needed spare p865s due to lack of trains on the blue line
Going to miss the P865s, but at least save one trainset for special events and donate one to the Orange Empire Railway.

New York City has a Transit museum with old subway trains and buses and they preserve them and used them on special occasions. The city of Los Angeles does not preserve anything historical. They should build a Transit museum here instead of getting rid of everything.
can't they at least keep one 3 car set in celebration of the regional connector opening in 2020 as well as metro rail's 30th anniversary in that same year?

If they do, only a 2 car set not a 3rd since Metro only preserved car 100 and 144. Metro didn’t preserve another P865. In my opinion they should have preserved 104 since it was the last P865 to be in service.

I love how Kinkisharyo did not think of changing the name when doing business in English speaking world. Another subsidiary of Kinki Nippon Railway, Kinki Nippon Tourist, does business in the U.S. as Kintetsu International. Oh, and the Kinki University in Osaka rebranded itself as the Kindai University in all English-language communications (the university is not related to Kinki Nippon Railway).

Kinkisharyo and Nippon Sharyo are different companies. The former is owned by Kinki Nippon Railway (aka Kintetsu), the latter is a subsidiary of Nagoya Railroad (aka Meitetsu).

Nowadays the p3010s are everywhere and there’s too much of them. They get boring eventually! The p2020s I like them but they have that boring grey jacket which doesn’t make them good anymore as they used to Be.

i grew up riding the nipponsharyo's,but if you take them away,a piece of my childhood wont exist anymore,or at least keep a set of 3 rail cars and use them for special dates cause i grew up with these trains pls

They already retired all of them, so the last P865 retired August 2018 and the last P2020 retired April 2021
