Tiffany, here is a helpful hint to keep your spices, onion and garlic flake from getting hard. Buy some small silica packs and place in your spice jars. . It will keep them in powder form. Silica packs are food grade, you sometimes can buy food products with them already in the packages. I am a long time prepper and use a lot of silica packs as well as oxygen absorbers.
I cleaned out my cabinets almost two weeks ago and I’ve been challenging myself to cook with what I have in my cabinets before I go buy more groceries. I noticed I have so much stuff in the cabinets that I continue to buy just cause I can’t find it when I need it. I have been doing such a good job these two weeks that my cabinets are literally starting to look a little empty 😊👍 I’m finally going shopping again today lol

Just an fyi.....spices don't go out of date. They are good for years past the date. If they start losing flavor then toss them. You can use a lazy Susan for spices too.
May I suggest getting the dehumidifier containers from DT and placing them in your food and spice cabinets. You can find them by the hangers. I use them allover my house. Just tuck them behind something and you will never see them.

It looks so much better! The chefs advise not even buying the bigger containers, because they usually go bad before you can use half the container. So stick with the small jars. I need to figure my situation out. Right now, my spices are in my corner cabinet. I kinda don’t like those corner cabinets, they are hard to get into and things get buried, so it’s hard to see what all you have. You can tell that men that don’t cook design kitchens! 🤣
I forgot to mention that I organize my spices alphabetically in baskets that I pull down from the shelf. I label the tops with the name of the spice. The basket is labeled on the outside A - C, etc...each basket may contain more letters of the alphabet depending on what spices I have. I have done this for close to 20 years and I love this system. Nothing ever gets knocked over. I clearly see what each spice is when I pull the basket down, because of the labels on top. On the bottom I use a round sticker to write the date I bought it. I love organizing videos. You did a great job. If you just move your shelves all of yours will be easy to see.
Grrl slide a sharp flat knife behind those shelf holders and adjust your shelves cause you got tones of wasted height space you could be using on that bottom shelf...Or Get the maintenance ppl to come move these shelves up for you TFS
I was grouping my spices together by jar-type like you did and alphabetizing them. I got my risers and turntables at T.J.Maxx really cheap! I have all new matching containers from $ Tree, but I haven’t converted and labeled them yet. I have about ten times more spices than you. I’m obsessed! I bought two oak over- the -side-of-refrigerator shelves from Amazon-one on a cupboard-and they are terrific! Can’t wait to get it all done. Tip: I just heard a bay leaf in your grains will keep them fresh longer.

When your kids are taller than you 😆 my daughter is gonna be 13 n shes basically my height lol. I love these kind of videos! I deal w 24/7 chronic pain so I never have motivation on days off but this gets me in the mood.

If I buy a spice and when I use it I don't really care for it, I use it with other spices and make my own spice blends, so it doesn't go to waste, but I make a mental note to not purchase it anymore.
