Darren, thank you for always sending me info in regards to southerners. I'm off from work today and viewed many college bands. Southerners we are classy and continue to be the best as decades change.
It's such an interesting concept... the flying wedge from 1995 marked a turning point for The Southerners. They were a couple of years removed from bottoming out under FSM and that show - particularly the troy state performance, announced that The Southerners were back. Fast forward 28 years and the band has grown so much that they had to make 2 wedges! That is so awesome. 36 20-j's? Good Lord. Too bad Dixie Woodwinds is no longer politically correct, Dixie 2 would shake the foundations of the stadium during the hit.
Great performance tonight by The Marching Southerners, As a guy who's old enough to remember many of these arrangements played live I appreciate getting to hear them again.
They look and sound this amazing their first game show. I was stunned. That double wedge took me all the way out. Cannot wait to see the rest of the show! Dang. The red tshirts looked sharp on the field.
Granddaughter is a rookie this year. She plays clarinet. Great sound and marching precision as always. Can hardly wait to see the whole show in person!

OMG, was that a double flying wedge at the end? Blow Southerners!

Does anyone know the titles of the music they played? I really enjoyed it all and the music was familiar, but I couldn't name any of them.
Always the flags and majorrettes messing it up.
