So happy to find this interview! Love Royal - she's been my favorite artist since I heard Overwhelmed and saw her live when she opened for Demi Lovato. She's EXTREMELY talented and knows how to work a crowd. Plus she's such a great person 🔥🔥🔥
The whole day the interview was on again off again due to her flight being cancelled. She had to come straight from the airport to the stage, then to me, there was concern about her appearance after having just done a huge set (which is absolutely fair). So via her publicist we decided to do audio only, which was fine with me because I was really interested in talking to her and I was gonna post it as a podcast anyway.
At the last minute she showed up and was fine with being on camera. Honestly I found her to be an absolute sweetheart! Really open and engaging. Especially being stuck in some random tent with a 6” sweaty Aussie bloke.
I mentioned at the beginning how I was most excited to speak to her. Although I had only discovered her via my research for the interview, I could tell that she was an artist in the truest sense of the word, not just a person who makes music. And I find that way more compelling than any major star.
From the handful of material I was able to look at prior, I felt like I knew exactly who she was, what she was doing and yet there was still an enormous enigmatic volume of potential there where she would be capable of surprising me. And to me that’s what it’s all about!
@@PrymalChaos I remember when that happened to her. She was so nervous!! I am not surprised she showed up and was ready chat. Plus, she looked fantastic!! I wish I looked that good after getting ready never mind after traveling and performing for over 24 hrs straight! Great interview!
