I love it but I woulda used a diffuser style led strip instead of the regular to get rid of the light bunching and give it a more factory flush look

It's not vinyl it's leatherette. Man-(made material not real leather.)

If i may add a bit of criticism.
It wasn't really a video (snapshots)
The lid of the console. You put the hinges at the end of the box which means when you open it the lid of it's going sticking right up in the air why did you not put the hinges on the full length so when it opens its only about 4 - 5 inches protruding upwards. Also when you open the console lights come on inside the console. Also add a few charging points.
Marks out of ten ........ 9 and a half. 😁 because even though I have criticized it does not make it a bad console adding ideas is simple.

Each panel is screwed in from behind. We did a lot of engineering before we constructed it

It would just depend on the design and layout of the center console. We did not supply the speakers or the equipment on the center console. We do carry car audio though in stock. Typically to build a center console is going to be anywhere from $800 to $1,500 depending on the design and layout

It's on my 2000 Limited pictured in my main photo. The climate controls are behind the tablet in a din slot so I can have access to them

We did not keep the measurements on this project. We actually made everything by hand to fit in the vehicle

To each his or her own. At 6’3”, I would prefer knee padding for my right leg to be comfortable on long or short drives and duplicate that on door panels. Back-lit plexiglass with LEDs on sandblasted edge would provide a mild illumination and not hard to do.

You mean like a recessed area so they sit flush with the back of the tablet? I’ve seen videos of some guys getting the tablet to run the ac system somehow and was curious if that was the deal here. Also, what navigation program are you using on the tablet? Tons and tons of questions. Love that console though. Gorgeous! About to do my Jeep Commander which is a toy basically. Using it as the “learn and mistake” build before I redo my entire Tahoe, so any tips or ideas or whatever...please share! Thinking of building mine to incorporate the current radio/climate panel and changing over to a more modern setup. It’s a 2007 model so plenty of tech upgrades.
@@ChrisJ-mf7cj A din slot it the size of a single din radio cut out of the acrylic behind the tablet so I can access my AC controls, which are mounted to the back of my bezel. My tablet is a Samsung S4 10.5" also the navigation i use is waze app. The navigation app for the tablet itself for set up n all is Nova Launcher. Yeah this stuff is fun and addictive but a great hobby that you can take your time with! Thanks for the compliment on my console bro, my amp rack is my next build for my 2K Tahoe...
