AnotherDayInParadise….Are you a VGK fan? If so, thanks a lot for perpetuating the stereotype around the NHL that VGK fans are green. Do you actually think any of your points were considered by McPhee when he went out and got Reaves?
Reaves summarized just how much he "belongs" on one play. When he leveled Tom Wilson with a clean hit that sent Wilson to the dressing room, team doctors, and injured reserve, he also sent a message to every player of every team in the NHL - this will be you if you take liberties and cheap shots with any of my teammates (retaliation and payback for Wilson running Marchy in the SC Final a few months earlier).
Reaves role is that of the "Enforcer". And he's the best at it. That hit is legendary; every player has seen it and it will be in the back of their minds whenever they play the VGK. That kind of mind-f*ck is far more relevant than your meaningless stats.
And if you're not a VGK fan, all of the above applies plus the following advice: Always try to remember that of all the Seven Deadly Sins, "ENVY" is the most mentally self-destructive.
