- 🚨 Here’s the TRUTH about kitchen sponges, and it ain't pretty! 🚨
Sponges, with their perpetually wet environment and stuck-on food particles, are a breeding ground for over 362 different bacteria! 😱 Let's talk about how to disinfect them:
⭐️Toss them in the dishwasher and run a regular cycle!
⭐️Pop them in a bowl of water and microwave for a minute to zap those germs away! ⚡
⭐️For more intense germs, grab a bowl and mix 1 quart of warm water and 3 tablespoons of bleach! Drop your sponge in and let it soak for 5 minutes, flipping halfway through. Then squeeze out the sponge, rinse well, and set aside to air dry! 🧼✨
Disinfect those sponges at least 2 times a week and replace your sponge regularly! 🗓️🔄

What about good old vinegar?
Absolutely! Vinegar helps to kill germs and neutralize odors, making it a great option for keeping sponges clean and fresh! 😊
I buy the really cheap Walmart ones and throw them away after a couple uses too🥰
Great idea too!!!
Yes dollar tree. Use throughout the month. Throw them. I need to get better at it
@@deenakilgore4995 you are on the right track using dollar store ones!!
You did a whole cycle just for your sponge?? Lol jk teasing 😏
She just put it in dishwasher for this video, but you can actually put your kitchen sponge with full dishwasher and run a cycle on higher temperature (65,’ 70’ Celsius)
Actually, you can toss your kitchen sponge in with a full dishwasher load to disinfect it along with your dishes! 😄
