I agree with you about the beauty of downtown Clarksville TN. Of course not the most exciting place, but kind of nice, calm, clean and cosy. Thanks for posting.
My husband and i are going to be moving to Clarksville, Tennessee !!!!!!!!!!
My family on both sides is from the Clarksville area & I just moved back. This was a cool tour. I like the positive vibe in the way you observe things. Clarksville was once the tobacco center of the U.S. Irish emigrants helped work the thriving railroad trade back in the day. Many of their shanties still stand in the nearby town of Erin, Tn. (named by the Irish because it reminded them of Ireland). This is where I now live.
Hey thanks for watching and sharing your knowledge!
Wow looks so beautiful and so clean!
Great little town.
Thanks for the video! Please give street's in the future if you don't mind.
This is my home town, you just walked past theRoxy theater, and the statue you stopped at Frank Sutton, was the actor Sergeant Carter.
Boyce and Hart were inspired by a town in Northern Arizona called Clarkdale. They were writing the song and discovered Clarksville fits the lyrics better. It's not about Clarksville, TN.
It should be.
Thanks for the downtown walkabout! You’ll have to come back - so much has changed this year!
Hey thanks! I’ll make a note to try and come back soon!
❤❤❤ love it …. You are like the best wine better and better everyday 😊
Thx!
We have a episcopal church in our small NE Scotland town . They get everywhere.
It is interesting architecturally because it looks nothing like our normal churches but instead like it was straight out of a stereotypical English village.
Our town though small was an ecumenical centre. All it seems to have is churches and pubs. The pubs seem to be thriving better than the churches these days.
A nice walk as always! Looks very cozy😃! Thank’s for this one👌! TC👋
The statue is of the actor who played Sgt. Carter on Gomer Pyle USMC
Hey! I subscribed to this channel a couple weeks ago coz it looked interesting, but this is first video I’ve had the chance to watch. I REALLY enjoyed it. I’ll spend some time catching up on older vids now 😊Looking forward to seeing your wanders

And I wish I had done a longer walk - next time!!!
You should come back do another walk through, our arena is open now.
Great walk even though i missed this completely 😕Anyway thank you for another good walk in the beautiful city 🙂👍!!!
We plan to explore this town on our way to Florida in a few weeks. Thank you for the video. By the way, the song Last Train to Clarksville is not about this town.
Ah thanks!!!
Actually it was. The song writer and one of the monkeys admitted to it back in 2016. It's an anti war song. Originally they had the name Clarksdale, but that didn't sound right, so they made it clarksville. Later during the writing he found out that clarksville has a portion of the base on it, which fit perfectly seeing what the song was about. BTW, the only reason they call it Ft Campbell KY is because the post office on base is on the KY side. The base is devided between TN and KY. Anyway, all those years the monkeys denied it being about clarksville tn when in reality it was, but during that time, being anti war wouldn't get the new band very far. Just listening to it anyone can tell its anti war and about clarksville tn. And yes, our train in clarksville did run and many still do. I'll attach 1 of many many links for you to check out what the song writer and one of the monkeys said about the song. Like most things, if you listen close enough and have eyes wide open, you can pick the truth from the lies, whether the lies are for the good or not. www.rhino.com/article/august-1966-the-monkees-debut-with-last-train-to-clarksville
That’s the Cumberland river
why the name is clarksville ? "ville" means "city" in french. Why the name is french ?
Neat city of 170k I've never heard of. Seems like a nice place. Feels like how Asheville wants its reputation to be. Lol, I hope you got a new sub at 7 min, and I hope they found their shoe shop.
🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful but,........where did people go?
Clarksville is 99.6 square miles and bursting at the seams. Unless something is going on downtown, it’s pretty quiet. This day is probably quieter due to wet weather. Believe me. The quiet downtown is a wonderful respite from the rest of the city.
Clarksville is a boring place to live and visit go to Nashville.
No question that Clarksville cannot keep up with thriving Nashville. But why not enjoying a small, clean and calm downtown town anayway ?
