his voice is remarkable. each and every song filled with his presence. the One and the Only Garnet Mimms...one of the Crown Jewels of Soul before Soul really had its name.
this was Garnett Mims last top 40 hit. he left the music industry for a career as a minister. he is still alive as of today. he was born on 11-16-1933 in West Virginia. his family moved to Philadelphia when he was young. he still lives there today. he has done a gospel album, and also a r/b album since leaving the music industry.

When I hear this song it takes me back to Jr. High School, and listening to on one of my best friends transistor radio as we walked to school. Ronnie Harrington was his name. I lost him to an auto accident in 1973 while I was over seas in the U. S. Navy. I saw Ronnie for the last time while home on leave just prior to heading to the 7th Fleet called Commander Amphibious Group One. Ronnie was one of the best friends I ever had, and he was one of the Coolest Brothers, and I mean that in every respect of coolness. Rest in peace my Brother.

"Sang the song Man! Yeaaaahhh, he gon' take away all the pain, just come on in there baby and let him have his way. Garnet Mimms singing from his heart tonight ya know, gon' whisper them sweet nothings in yo' ear too honey. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout! John R way down South in Dixie, WLAC, 15.10 on the radio, blasting 50,000 watts of joy and soul from little old Nashville. It's all on record, Program 10 for Ernie's Record Mart, in Nashville, Tennessee, and only Nashville, Tennessee. Awwwrrighttt! I got a stone gas for you here now. Gonna lay one you. Ol' Sonny Boy Williamson blowin' his blues harp and talkin' a lotta trash. He say, "Don't start me to talkin' baby, else I'll tell everything I know!" Look out there now man. Don't tell it all...you might wanna go back there again, make sure you didn't leave nothin'. Blow your harp Sonny. Let me hear from you brother!".....Mesmerizing👑🎤🎸🎵
Oh, but that our young would learn that Love is precious and that we should desire it more that the bright lights and the glitter the world tricks us with. We have a small amount of choice Gold and we let it go for "Fools Gold. Books are still picked because they appeal to the eyes. And the choice reading is overlooked because it was not dressed up in a "Hollywood Cover".The older we get the more we realize the real and important things. Cherish your true love. Brothers take care of woman.
