Helios' remarks sting even harder when you remmeber that it isn't *actually* Helios but rather Kratos's own subconscious torturing him
Which is why he never retorts or explains himself to Helios. He really thinks it’s right to be judged for everything he did with such harshness. It’s all Valhalla is about.
Yep, the culmination of all his past misdeeds taking form in one of the closest things to him.
A talking head.
It would've been better if Kratos travels to Egypt but has to face Anubis and actually revive these characters
Unfortunately Kratos deserves death. An honorable death but he still deserves it for his past deeds. What he did shouldn’t really go unpunished.
The icing on the cake is how this is actually the same voice actor Helios had in GoW 3
Loved the line when helios said "Irony Can Have you when it Earns you"😂😂😂
He's mocking Kratos for saying "Death can have me when it earns me."
Odin: so they DO have metaphors where you are from
Wooow 😂 I did not expect Helios to use Kratos’s badass quote against him.. that’s dirty 😂
@@duyanhpham9227LOL
It's technically Kratos using it against himself.
Kratos: death can have me when it earns me

This is IRONY at its peak 🤣

Kratos aren't having a good time here.

Helios isn’t leaving Athena out of it.
Again he shows how much he despises everyone on Olympus…
He called Zeus’s children failures (including Kratos), he calls the notion of trusting Athena ridiculous indirectly just like he called the notion of trusting Hephaestus.
Is it bad that I want a multi-verse where Kratos didn't kill Helios? I didn't play the original GoW, but from what I understand, Helios was one of the few gods that wasn't necessarily an enemy of Kratos. He was just kind of in Kratos's way, and probably could have been spared if Kratos wasn't so blinded by rage that he felt the need to murder every single god.
@@moalex6617He tried to defend himself with hasty lie first and his power once Kratos decided to kill him.
@@moalex6617 I think most gods were in Kratos more than anything.
But that's not Helios, that's Kratos guilty subconscious taking the form of Helios.

That depends on what source you’re reading.
Not that again. ROMANS version.
there's the Arachne myth if you want tos ee Athena being petty
@@matheuswesley7138 Not really. She either trusted Poseidon or Athena so Olympos gods used her for their argument
Ok let’s be real, Athena was responsible for the evils of the box corrupting the gods. Kratos had no real choice here. He could either let Ares win and destroy everything or kill Ares with the box power. Maybe Helios is right but there are no ifs only facts.
Yeah... Kratos didn't know at the time that the evils in Pandora's Box would corrupt all the gods AND he REALLY was instructed by the gods to go find it and open it... so that really wasn't his fault.
But sadly Helios' got a point: Young Kratos probably wouldn't have cared either way.
@@mariobenedicto3582 Also this is not real Helios but Kratos mind projection. So if he says that Kratos wouldn't care then it's because Kratos himself believes he wouldn't care.
There are ifs, though. There are choices.
Problem is Zeus was a moron even without a fear plaguing him.
But even Athena didnt know exactly what would happen. She thought Kratos had used the evils from the box to defeat Ares.
She even sacrificed herself to save Zeus at only at the Very End of GOW 3 did she finally piece together what happened and why the gods and Zeus got so out of Hand.
Kratos himself was still a signifigant cause of Greeces problems. He's not innocent in all the events
Krratos WOULDVE opened the box regardless….. the game in all the books and games and from the directors have all said the same thing he is a monster that’ll do anything as long as it furthers kratos goals he does not care….. just like they specified in ragnarok he is a god killer weather it’s for evil or good it doesn’t matter he’s destined to kill gods period…. Stop trying to justify kratos or make it seem like he’s a victim the blood of millions is on his hands who feel very differently about his conquests….. for as much as he hates gods and hated his brother ares when kratos was the god of war he was a way more dangerous version of ares.
I cannot listen to Helios without hearing Alucard. God, I love Crispon Freeman.
Cris Freeman's voice is unmistakable. Always amazing work.
The same way I wouldn't blame an employee for unknowingly transporting illegal material that a boss secretly placed upon their vehicle and told them to transport its contents, I don't blame Kratos for opening the box when he was commanded to by his Gods and older sister without prior knowledge of what's inside. Knowing Athena, even if Kratos asked, she most certainly would have withheld aspects of the truth to ensure he'd continue on his quest and at that point, he had no reason to distrust her at all.
But the point is even if Kratos was fully aware he never would have cared and opened the box anyway that’s why his minds manifestation says that young kratos wouldn’t care
Athena didn't command him.
Keep in mind the other gods knew he was trying to get the power of Pandora’s box as well, and even Artemis, Hades, and Zeus himself helped him along the way.
Yeah but they all thought the evils would empower him, not merge with them. Weird that hope was the one that chose Kratos. That or it was the only left to get after the evils went for the gods.
@@pillarmenn1936 It's still on them. He had no idea that the great evils were in the box, he just thought it would give him the power to kill Ares. They knew what was in the box, they just assumed that he would suffer the consequences instead of them. Which means it was just another betrayal. Not only would they not free him from his memories as he wished but now he would be possessed by the evils of the box and probably go deeper into madness and then use that justification to destroy him.
As far i remember in GOW3, Athena was expecting Kratos would've taken the power of evil instead of hope, its a 50/50 chances and the gods lost the gamble and paid the price.
Sweet
Shame we didn’t see anymore of Athena after the 4th game as she’s still out there
apparently she's not really there is 2018's GOW but it may be a reminder for stuff happening in the future. Ghost Athena and then Thor turning to sparkly dust. The "higher plain of existence" may finally be resolved in the next game(s). I'm guessing even the crack in Odin's study could be related to that.
@@chamoo232 when did Athena turn into spark dust?
Also thor did no sacrifice to read higher existence.
Also the devs confirmed his lightings has consumed him
@chamoo232 I think Athena was really there. A video gives a theory that in the land Kratos lives in now, she is called Gefjun. Mimir even exclaims, "Great Gefjun ghost!" After seeing those giant jellyfish creatures underground.
Seeing that Gefjun is not really mention in one of mimir's stories as someone who died by Odin nor does she appear in the same manner as Faye does to Kratos, it could be possible her "ghost" followed Kratos along with his blades.

Nevermind that the Gods promised they would rid Kratos of the nightmares of his murdered family if Ares fell, then pulled a Wayne's World and went 'Not!'

@@ThatGUY666666 Just trying to set a good example.
Okay, can we be real we can sure as heck blame Athena for what happened it was her plan in the first game to open the box without telling Kratos about the evils within and she made Kratos a god in thefirst while also assisting Ares to take Deimos she literally set Olympus up to die since the first game.
Eh, Helios is right though. Even if Kratos knew exactly what was in the box, he still would have opened it for the chance to kill Ares. Athena is too blame but Kratos is equally bad if not more considering their respective body counts by GOW3
@IrishWarrior00 True, but Athena was still the one who told Kratos about the box and she hid the fat about the evils within, I'm not saying Kratos is blameless only that Athena is the reason for a large amount of Olympisis suffering.
It's true that Athena's voice actor even said that GOW3 Athena is the kind of character that convinces others (and even herself) that she's doing the right thing, while in reality she just wants to take over the world for her own sake rather than that of anyone else.
No she is not responsible for that at all.
Stop blaming her for the whole fiasco.
Nobody besides Zeus is to be blamed
He banned Athena from killing Ares who was foresight to destroy Olympus, so she needed to get him killed anyhow.
She would have killed him by her own hands or directly aided Kratos, but Zeus banned her from it.
She didn't have any other source where she could get Kratos some powers so she had to ask him to open the box
Also Zeus literally approved her to open the box.
Athena was sent by Zeus with Ares to protect Kratos.
Like she herself says "I was there for You"
She could have denied to go with Ares and keep herself out of the mess, but how would have that benefitted anyone?
Ares would still be sent.
Zeus had a soft spot for Kratos, in the comic of 2010 it was hinted it's Zeus who aids Kratos with Apollo's flame so that he could save his daughter.
Also in GoW3 Hera says to Zeus "I told him to kill you when you were born, but my husband took pity"
Zeus also says "taking pity on u had been my greatest mistake Kratos"
So 2nd time again most likely Hera had asked Zeus to kill Kratos aswell, or Ares being jealous of Zeus' bastard would have killed Kratos, so Athena was sent there.
As for your "using" part its irrelevant.
Athena had no choice but to use a warrior to kill Ares, DEFINITELY not for Herself, but for Olympus and the world, she's was always about everyone else prior to her death, as said by devs too.
As far as nightmares are concerned again you can't blame her at all.
Read the book of GoW1, Zeus lead Athena into believing his nightmares would go away with forgiveness.
So she made he promise to Kratos
Later when she asked or was begging Zeus to do it, he denied.
So u can't blame her.
As for damming him is concerned..
Same there aswell, Athena directly or indirectly saved his ass from a worse fate.
He would goto Hades/underworld and live there forever with his nightmares, as said by devs.
Also Hades wanted to torture him to avenge Persephone as said in gow3 and book of gow2.
Lastly Elysium was closed too for him that he could go to meet his family.
So Athena only saved him from a misfortune.
He might hate her all he wants, be angry he wasn't allowed a death, but death would have been only worse for him that he didn't know.
Besides these things I would recommend you to read the book of gow1 and 2, Athena did whatever she could for Kratos, she cared a lot about him, despite his flaws, she even seemed to have developed feelings for him.
Which was kinda confirmed by Barlog in a 2007 video that she loved him.
So I can't see in anyway she was trying to had made his life worse.
Only in GoW3 after her ascension she got greedy from the influence of higher existence.
1. The gods actively gave Kratos several quest's in order to find the box not just Athena they ALL pitched in. 2. The story hadn't caught up really so the "evil's" within the box didn't really exist until God of War 2 and 3. 3. Athena DEFINITELY should've known what was in the box and to not allow Kratos to open it let alone speak of it though I would also blame that on the oracle.
They had to take the risk to stop Ares, they didn't have other way to stop him.
He remembers Helios vaguely. But he might be thinking of Hermes especially since he mocked him the most.
I think that's not Helios' True Personality, but rather a projection of Kratos' own mind
Helios wasn't like this in the other games
Pretty sure everyone was in the wrong, at the time Ares wanted to bring down Olympus and Zeus, the gods asked Kratos to seek out pandora's box and open it so Kratos has the power enough to kill Ares. But they didn't tell him the consequences after opening it.
Kratos wanted revenge on Ares yes, but he was also angry at the gods because not only he was haunted by the past but when he went to find his brother, Deimos, he went to seek out his mother first (pretty sure anyone knows what happens in those events in ghost of sparta).
So either way, Kratos despised the other gods, and it also didn't help when zeus came in and kill kratos.
In summary and not to make this long, we know Kratos did horrible acts and pretty much put the greek python in ruins but everyone was in the wrong at the time.
The Gods set Kratos on his path of destruction for sure but Kratos did a lot of things willingly. That's what Valhalla's little therapy is about. Making him take responsibility for his actions, not make the same mistakes again and especially avoid sacrificing everything to get to his goals.
More like Kratos is telling himself that since Helios is in his mind, and not real.
0:56 what metaphysical responsibility? Now it is confirmed the power of hope is outerversal
Kratos: Death can have me when it earns me.
Helios: I'm about to end this god's whole career.
When he said "The absolute GALL of you to let yourself consider such a thing" is when I realized that was Alucard's voice actor from Hellsing, LMAO
Is that the voice actor of alucard cause the voice sounds similar to alucard
In Hellsing Ultimate yes. Crispin Freeman has hundreds of credits on his IMDB page.
Dang Kyon is harsh
The bear skin is the best
his helios voice were similiar to.....
....Hermes?
Instead of sending Kratos to open the box and corrupt the gods couldn't they had just teamed up and kill Ares themselves?
They weren't allowed to fight him remember, Zeus could have killed him if he felt like it.
Athena said that Zeus forbade the Gods to fight each other. Hades, Poseidon and even Zeus himself could easily beat Ares, as said in the GOW 1 Novelization
This is pretty stupid on Zeus' part, for what damned reason would he forbid gods from fighting and not kill Ares himself. He could’ve simply summoned Ares to Mount Olympus and then kill him then and there.
Valhalla was one big thereopy session for Kratos
I never understood why they never tried to warn kratos of the consequences of opening the box i mean why does most of these gods including atena even blame kratos they are the ones who told him to kill ares even lead him to the box and i mean the real god not these fakers and doubt it was the sins that entered them talking.
When did Athena blame him?
It's Kratos blaming her
Greek here, the contents of the box were meant for mankind, especially Hope.
It was Zeus' extra "FU" to Prometheus for stealing fire and giving it to man.
Only here, the evils went ignored mankind amd infected the gods instead.
Yeah...Kratos definitely would not have cared either way. The ends justified the means in his eyes.
I’m a need you to look at the results of his quest of vengeance? His homeland long since destroyed the entirety of Greece flooded with the souls of the Damned and much worse, let loose upon the world even he knew what he had done was not right.
@@sinfuladam I....never said he was right, dude. I said that he did not care about what would happen. He only cared about his getback.
@@JABRIEL251 and look where that got him
Not my fault. Death didn't earn me yet.
Intent is important, Helios. He may have opened the box, but Athena was the one who wanted things to go the way they did.
Oh really?
And at the time Kratos had no reason to doubt Athena as he believed she and the other gods who wanted to stop Ares were actually on his side, then the ending of GoW happened and the rest of the series
Athena never really lied to him if you ask the right questions you get the right answers. that’s basically how it works with her. Heck, she tried to keep the other gods from trying to deal with him for as long as she could, until the events of god of war two in which receive the result of kratos’s recklessness
I think some of y'all are missing the point.
Helios is saying, even if Kratos was told about the evils in the box. He wouldn't care.
For example, in god of war 3, Kratos was killing the gods, but he didn't care about the consequences that it was bringing. Not until it was too late.
And also, remember this is just Kratos imagnation. So what Helios is saying, is pretty much what Kratos thinks of himself.

Don't get mad at people that don't know about the novels, them not knowing everything about the Greek games isn't the same as not knowing about the novels since the novels were barely advertised, even some hard-core fans didn't know they existed.
Also, the novels aren't completely cannon like the comics are anyway, if the story contradicts the game story then the game story takes priority. So I'm not even certain if it was considered Zeus's fault in the game continuity.
