Fred was just a better-trained musician than John. Fred is trained in music theory and guitar from an art school. He may not be always as good at lyrics as John but Fred's overall songwriting is more intricate. Sadly Adam never learned to properly sing so his voice is dead.
Man, I know everybody is pumped for the return of John Nolan, but this band is seriously going to miss Fred more than people think. Listen to the two of them harmonize.....he was tremendous live
Adam and Fred together were something really special. Having john back is great but different, together these two and the rest of the band created two of the best albums ever especially their second the one this masterpiece came from. Of course he'll be missed but we should all be thankful that john came back as no one else could've had the same kind of impact as Fred returning.
One of the most beautiful songs in the story of alternative rock, astonishing lyrics, incredible voice, beatiful guitars. Someone can call it perfection ?
This is the best live performance I've heard. Everything is working 100%. The connection between Fred and Adam is perfect, the whole song is perfect. Everything is perfect !
Fred/Adam was by far the best era for TBS. These two together were a force and sounded great, then after one album they part ways? The emo scene was definitely robbed of all the good music they could have produced together.
@@antoniovivcharyukporynets894 Yeah, you're right, I just ignore Louder Now because it seemed to take the band in a direction that I didn't really enjoy as much as their first two albums. Louder Now very much seemed like the result of a struggle among bandmates to find and agree upon a defined sound and direction that didn't fully seem to agree on anything. I almost feel like the end product of this album is what led to Fred's departure, but I mean, I could be completely wrong lol. Just the sense that I got from that time.
you're right........... really cooool live at the first time i didn't believe that it's perfect.........but that was hard music.....isn't it........? lovely adam.....
Why do so many people care whether this is 'fake' or if they've edited it or WHATEVER. who cares? lol this is still really good no matter what they've done to it lol i love taking back sunday :) xx
They are using two different clips, lol they probably did a video recording before and after the show, but used the show's sound recording, but mixed the clips to make it look better..awkward
@@dahomosapien there video is just different clips. The house AUDIO is the same across. Do you even know what autotune does? Lol. There isn't even any pitch correction either. Your ears are clearly shot..
There's no way they'd record audio for a live video separate from a show...it definitely went through post-production mixing but it's not like today's shows where so many bands have guitar backing tracks and their guitars aren't even actually hooked up to the mix...
Back when I was first getting into TBS I only heard Louder Now. I found this video and fell in love with it. This video/song is the reason I dropped what I was doing and went out the buy there first two CDs. I watched this video before I heard the recorded version of the song and prefer it alot more then the recorded version. Whether this video's edited or not it's still kick ass and my favorite song by them to this day.
Long term effect on the band notwithstanding, I still think that Fred's the best vocalist this band has ever had. His control is SO much better than Adam's OR John's.
A lot of people think they've declined recently. They haven't released it yet but some of the songs that they have released off the new album don't sound like the same Taking Back Sunday. And more recent clips of live performances just aren't the same
i think everyone should stop getting angry that he doesnt swing the mic in this video. doesnt have to do it every time. and as iv filmed many concerts in my time (not tbs) it prob sounds so good because of the sound recording. if you get loads of great quality mics around the stage its gona sound amazing.
I Swear Ive Watched This Video A Million Times I Think This Is The Only Video Where Adam Is In One Place And Not All Over The Place....No Mic Swinging Either Oh And People Who Miss Fred...Dont Worry Matt Fazzi Is Actually Really Good...Their New Song "That Is Quite Enough" Isnt That Bad...So Cheer Up "Fredheads" Taking Back Sunday Is Still Amazing
I don't care if Adam can't hit a high notes now. He still and always will be the best lead vocalist of all time!!! His voice went through a lot and that's the best thing happened in the rock world. 💯 TBS fan here... 🎉 it's nice to look back in their old vids. Wish i was old enough living in their Era..
I saw TBS with my fiancee in SF this past June. With the exception of MakeDamnSure, Adam was really damn good again. He apologized before makedamnsure saying something along the lines of his voice not being the same as it once was and that’s why it would sound the way it did. We chanted “we still love you” at him 🥹 All the non-aggro shit was super good tho.
This video does a couple things for me. It shows how Adam is a quality singer with the MOST unique style. Nobody's quite like that guy. I doubt anybody will be. And the band in general. It also shows how thin Fred's hair is......lol.
yea, it doesnt matter that he isnt a great a singer, thats now what its about. they put on an amazing show and you can always hear the emotion of the song in his voice. if you want to go to a show and expect to hear someone who sings good go see taylor swift or something
I miss Fred :( Also, it's amazing that Adam can hit all those high notes in concert. So many singers can't live up to their recordings when they play live.
Adams talent knows no bounds! look here as he manages to swap in which hand he holds the mic, and also how he holds the mic, in a millisecond! you'd almost think it was a cleverly mashed together montage of live clips, but no. This i refute, for Adam is a genius of a singer and a man. Seriously though I haven't listened to this in years and it's sweet as, they even still have the evil mushroom from mario on guitar! I need to see them again.
john was the best in tbs!!!! this is a really good quality video. fred was pretty damn good at singing and guitar. now they have fazzi..................
i've seen TBS live 3 times..but not during any of the times where they would played songs from the second album(twice when john was still in the band and then again when the tour for louder now started)and this is by far a VERY awesome performance
OMG, the audio is AMAZING! it's like the best live song i've ever heard... a lot of times, Adam plays around with the mike and you can hardly hear what he's saying... but this is great. 5 stars.
@withnoregards Professionally live recorded version always sound the best. They record every track individually then they can edit in pro tool later. Makes the experience more enjoyable.
this performance alone is why I believe Fred/Adam were the best duo.
They were the best duo, but this video and audio are heavily edited. Adams sleeve on his right arm is the most obvious way to see it.
What the fuck are you talking about? How do you edit a LIVE performance??
Bees Dont Exist I guess so
SARAH656 lmao
also on fred's guitar, on 2:24 he is using the red SG, and in all the video he's playing the white one.
When Adam lazzaras voice was in his prime! This was my favorite Tbs formation especially live. Adam and Fred. The chemistry was insane
Loved Adam and Fred’s chemistry
Fred was just a better-trained musician than John. Fred is trained in music theory and guitar from an art school. He may not be always as good at lyrics as John but Fred's overall songwriting is more intricate. Sadly Adam never learned to properly sing so his voice is dead.
best tbs song ever.
yesss
Go on just say it! Damn right!

Honestly every song on this album is perfect
Agreed
Man, I know everybody is pumped for the return of John Nolan, but this band is seriously going to miss Fred more than people think. Listen to the two of them harmonize.....he was tremendous live
11 years later and yeah, Fred is greatly missed.
A prophet
this is literally the greatest youtube video known to man.
10 years and still can't get rid of this song off my mind.
Especially the ending part.
Andanu Trisatya best part of the song.
Same. these lyrics will always be relevant in my life
Same here
@@mrwednesday687 what do they mean?
One of my favorite Taking Back Sunday songs ever, feels so fucking good blasting and singing to it out fucking loud.
Fred carried TBS. Fight me.
Can't fight the truth.
Best era of TBS
That vocal harmony in the chorus is AMAZING on this video....Never heard it that good live before...
by far the best lineup of TBS
18 years ago and still slaps. I'm on nostalgia trip right now 🥹

def autotuned, but great performance.
i am on an emo rock binge that CANNOT BE STOPPED
Sounds just as good as the album version. They definitely live up their first impression.
fred/adam was killer
2021 and still 🎧.

I've watched this video at least like 3 times a week for months its so good

it still does. May 2021
I come back to this version every once in a while and remember why I liked TBS
I always comeback to this. The best song EVER

Adam’s voice amazing in this. Love TBS who still watching in 2023?!
Yes!! Hard ro believe this was 17 years ago! Fuckin the shit!! Love this version!! Adam & Fred are the best
Best harmonious pair. Just ROCKS😊
Holy shit I’ve never heard Adam sing so good live what year was this?
I still can't get over the way he sings "Habit" the first time! I mean, it's beautiful. Definitely gives me an eargasm!
oh man..I'm crying rn. this old song is too damn goooood
Watching this for the 100th time in class fr giving me strength
goated performance of a goated song

Once in a lifetime performance.. Amazing..
true. probably their best oat.
wish his voice was still this good, damn cigarettes

for some reason i love the repeating sentences thing that they do so much lol. It is so melodic and powerful
