These people are supposed to be Arabs? They don't say what Arabs say. When Shuaibe dies these folks say "may he rest in peace". Arabs don't say that. Arabs would say "to Allah we belong and to Allah we must return". Whoever decided to make these characters Arabs should have studied the culture better.

What the fuck is this script? They talk like robots and a lot of nonsense, other than that decent directing and style of recording, they did the best they could. Actors make this much better too, I'm surprised none of them said "nobody talks like this...".

It's post-apocalyptic. I actually thought the overall plot was good. The worst part of this film is the stupid characters. They were written about as poorly as any character that I have ever encountered. It made it into a super-sucky movie.

This movie is a kind of survival of the fittest. This is the Faith of the FUndamentalist Muslim. Christian Faith is completely opposite to that movie, Jesus said " For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. While the overall plot of this movie was conceived well and the overall direction of this movie was not good - it was half-decent, enough...I suppose, as was the acting, which was terrible but not as horrid as it could've been, especially for characters written so poorly, it was basically a terrible movie. So, it FAILS, very, VERY, very hard, due to being filled with stupid characters. Not 'stupid' in an obvious way, like a lack of book-smart intelligence; but, in the less obvious way - a lack of street-smart intelligence!
For example, Shuaid believing that the girl, who ultimately had her throat slashed, was, truly, 'worthy' of saving...was a gargantuan give-away that this movie was basically going to suck. (In the true sense of the term 'worthy'. Not the trash that Mussa was talking about. Having no "humanity", so to speak, there is no way that he could speak for "humanity", in any figurative context, whatsoever, facetiously, etc., or exactly the opposite, in a literal, very real world, context.)
The fact that he, Shuaid, didn't even try to say to her/ask her a list of things, demanding, & not letting up (Giving in to the emotion of the moment is exactly what he did!), & in doing so, trying to make a connection, to calm her down and keep her calm, is infinitely stupid! Things such as..."What is your name?", "Are you alone?", "What do you want?", "Someone is here with you & you're afraid to say anything; you've been threatened.", "Are you injured?", "Where are you injured?", etc., all without giving up any information about himself, his group, his situation, etc., told me, right from the start, that his lack of common sense was going to get him killed; even more so when he didn't put a bullet through that bastards head the instant he pulled the knife - a clean shot would have taken him out! And while she could have died in some other way, such as from one of the other parasites trying to break in, using her as bait, her chances of getting out of that situation alive would, obviously, have been far, FAR, far better. All of that also told me that this `stinker` was going to unravel like a predictable ball of yarn.
Shuaid also allowed Mussa to get the knife & take it with him into their compound; & he didn't try to remove it from him until much later; that was, also, infinitely stupid! Shuaid should've gotten the knife himself and told Mussa, quite definitely, "No!", explaining to him why, never allowing him to touch the knife at all & if Mussa put up some sort of argument, then, Shuaid should have thrown the knife fifty feet, away from the compound, thanked Mussa for his assistance & wished him well. There was also Eissa's willingness to accept Mussa as some sort of a `savior`, when they honestly don't know him from a hole in the Earth. And there is also the...apparent...fact that Shuaid went alone to Mussa's `cubby hole`, where Mussa was, apparently, going to sleep after getting settled in, and confronted him alone... And with no weapon?! There's no guarantee that Shuaid would have lived through that situation had he had backup, and/or a weapon; but, still, the likelihood of getting out of that situation, at least, alive goes up if he had at least one, even more so with both, of those two things.
The best thing about the movie, which is in an entirely academic sense, is the special effects. The slow motion, the scenes that have fire, the explosions, they are done well; such as the collapsing of the water tower - it looks like they may have collapsed a real water tower to film that scene. The raging inferno, where Raya was burned alive; horrifyingly realistic-looking! Yet, while she was, virtually, scared to death & her courage was intense & that can't, reasonably (Ironic?!) be denied; still, the fact that she didn't use her legs/butt to use the step(s) behind her, such as by swinging her legs around, and/or sitting on the step immediately behind her to pull her legs up, to push & pull herself up the stairs & the hell out of there is ridiculous. And the special effects are not perfect; there was no blood splatter from the amputation scene, cutting off Daoud's leg. Also, seeing the water tower land right on top of Idrees right at the moment of impact would have added a greater degree of intensity to that scene. Technically, since we didn't see a single piece of the water tower land on top of him, Idrees could have survived...at least initially; remember, he was still alive after falling from the water tower & hitting the ground. While he could have died eventually from any internal injuries that he received, during that fall...and/or Mussa could have found him alive afterwards & finished him off, the point is the script wasn't written well enough for these things and the special effects, themselves, suffered, too. The worst thing about this movie is the characters and that takes away from the whole point of the movie in the biggest & most basic sort of way: How did any of these, basically, idiotic characters survive the end of the world as well as they did with such an extreme lacking in such an excruciatingly important type of intelligence?!
All of the characters seem to have knowledge, yet they have no, or very little at least, self-control/anger management. They have courage with to much pride. They have compassion with no common sense. They have logic with very little, if any, reason. And that makes this thing difficult to sit through, for me...at least, being that I found it to be, quite, predictable.
This movie had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, it lives up to none of that; because, it sucks!

I can hardly imagine why... But, perhaps you haven't seen many movies. Having a very sparse basis for comparison, you may see this movie as being good when you don't actually know WTF a good movie is.
The directing was bad; but, not horrible - or as horrible as it could have been, is probably more accurate. The story was written rather poorly and the acting is, by far, the worst thing about this movie.
Plus, they ripped off the name of an excellent movie & pinned it on this one, which, by accident or not, is a slap in the face.
This is, by no means, the worst movie that I have ever seen. Still, it was crap!
Those films always display a lot of talking, lingering, hugging, kissing, laughing, carelessness while the individuals are fleeing, prosecuted, menaced, having just escaped, just survived - whoever wrote the script has had no real imagination, just glued one incident to the other hoping that it will give a story.
