@jlredo If you want just 150 hp you just need to do more bigger outtake holes from upperdeck and maybe bigger valves and harder camshaft. In my first assembly, i got original doupple SU carbs, original valves (44/35) and modified intake/outtake holes and 300/11,9mm camshaft and good exthaust manifold. =150 hp. (46/38) valves and 45 doubblecarbs and harder cam (320/12,5mm) you can get 180-200 hp
Have you anything to the pistions and crankshaft? And what about the springs and lifters and all that stuff? Nice work btw :-)
You all probably dont give a shit but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.
180-200 !!?? Knowing that that is a possibility has lit a fire under my ass ! I'm about to do some major upgrades throughout my 62 544 and now that I know that kind of power is a reality Im definitly going to have to do my rebuild with that in mind.Thank you
Very nice
@kivipate
Thank you. Do you remember the rate compression?
Really dig the build, but how does it idle?
It's a 142 not a amazon
- Å fan!
I'm also working in a B20 engine, from a Volvo Amazon 1969 that i'm preparing for Regularity Historic Rally. What camshaft do you installed? For me would be enough 150hp. Thank you.
I have one Volvo amazon 1970s rallycar and it have 2,1l b20 46/40 valves and weber 50 (thats not all) In dyno it gave 230 =)
a B20, is a 2 liters (the name says so), 4 cylinders, 8 valves with side camshaft, without a turbo, it simply CAN'T reach that much of power, keep on dreaming...
I had a 123GT, 142S, 164E, i KNOW about Volvos...

Yay 180hp.... That's not much over stock.
yes about 80 or more even :/. its quite an achivement to reach 180hp on a b20

@@mathiasblomquist5327 only the anaemic B20A, with a single Stromberg carb (although that is not the limiting component), crappy log-type manifold, low compression, tiny ports and valves and "dull" camshaft has that little power.
I still like mine, as I can floor it all day to the astonishment of my passengers. They think how can he be so cruel to a classic car? Little do they know that the basically same engine can make 35% more power in series trim as a B20E. So flooring a B20A is comparable to running a B20E at max 65% 😄

Modified sylinderhead, bigger valves, douple valvesprings, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, lighten flywheel, rally camshaft, electronic ignition, electronic fuelpump, 2,5'' exhaust. This is historic rallycar, still 2000cc engine, rally gearbox, diff lock rear and so :)
