Yet I've experienced 2 earthquakes but no thank God no tornados.

I can confirm that this is true. I thought it was just a myth before, but it is not. We had a family dog and now we have a cat. They've been really helpful even for weak tremors.
How to start preparing.
Take three days during the work week and turn off your electric and water. Make do with what you can and write down things you needed and didn't have or tasks that were difficult. After you have this list, research alternatives
Eat, wear and consume cheaper. Choose cheaper meals to create room in your grocery budget to put back food. Wear second hand clothes or put a spending freeze on clothes shopping in order to make room to buy what you'll need for the future (especially if you have small children who grow frequently). Consume less electricity, gas, propane by finding alternatives. This may mean using a crock pot, hang drying clothes, using candles at night and opening windows for sunshine during the day etc. With the wiggle room you've created in those bills you now have some money to buy more food storage, medical supplies or invest in a small solar unit.
Make an edc bag. This is something you will carry all the time (on your person or in your car) that could provide you with what you and your family need for 3 nights. Think about what you may put into an overnight bag if you were to stay at a hotel. This will ensure even if something happens and you're out you're able to shelter in place
Understand how to take care of medical emergencies at home. Remember that in a major event, ems could be down or unavailable for sometime. While this is never the first line of defense in an emergency, understanding how to manage medical emergencies (high infections, deep wounds, pneumonia, asthma attacks, shock, 2nd and 3rd degree burns, poisoning, radiation sickness, torn ligaments, allergic reactions, excessive bleeding) while you wait on help can be life and death.
Food, water, temperature control are your highest priorities. If faced with a major event where services are limited for more than 3 days, having stored food as well as a way to cook, a way to filter and store water, and a way to keep yourself cool or warm can be life altering.
Please remember as we are entering or for some of us are already in uncertain times, having this foundation gives security as well as lowers stress. It allows us to feel more in control and gain a more positive perspective on not only our lives but the world. I'm willing to answer any questions from my own experience in the comments if you feel overwhelmed!

Having experienced a big quake, Alaska 1964, no damage in our home and across the way where new homes were being built, we thought it was all over until the Armed Forces Radio network started broadcasting the news of a tidal wave coming and to get to high ground. The town of Kodiak was subsequently destroyed.
That was in 1962 if I recall correctly. A friend of mine lived in Anchorage. He said that a few hundred people gathered on a 300' high cape and they were all swept away. I live 60 miles south of Portland and I have absolutely no intension of going to the coast until after the big one. He said that the ground liquidfaction was 30' high.

It was March 1964 on Good Friday about 5 p.m. Late afternoon anyway. I was there! Went up to Pillar Mountain and yes the tidal wave destroyed the town of Kodiak. Our house and numerous neighborhoods survived the earthquake. The water did not go passed the town so we didn’t see any water. Will never forget!
The waves also heavily impacted Seward. A man that lived in the tiny town stated it was an angry ocean.

Seattle removed an entire raised highway because of the danger during a large earthquake. It wasn't cheap. All the building codes have been updated over the last few decades so buildings will be safe during an earthquake. We have evacuation plans for coastal areas and signage on the roadways. We have had local neighborhood meetings and made plans in case of this emergency. We even have walkie talkies to talk to our neighbors in case of an emergency. Most of us have food and water stored and buckets for emergency toilets. Local and state governments have spent a lot of time and money on plans for when it happens. There are maps you can look up to see if you live in a danger zone. I can even look up when the tsunami will hit after the earthquake in my area.
There are unexplained noises in the ocean floor in Tampa Florida. They cannot figure it out there blame it on some type of fish which is ridiculous because when it starts is shakes the buildings.

If you pay attention, there are always upticks and downturns in the frequency of tremors. It doesn't mean anything, at least nothing that scientists have been able to figure out yet.

I was raised in Hawaii, so my first quake was the Whittier. That permanently damaged me!! Since then I am paralyzed from waist down. I remember when I took geology back in the 1970's. This film's information is of that same time period. It is a bit incomplete however as it does not talk about the San Andreas or Hayward faults. It also overlooks the most hazardous of North America's fault lines the New Madrid. Fortunately, the west coast has done much preparation over the last 50 years.

Magnets don't flip polarity. That's a myth. Volcanoes instill magnetic signatures when erupting and most erupt once every 5,000 years or so, resulting in alternating magnetic signatures. NOT global reversals and even if global reversals exist that would have no effect on the electrical grid.

There are no fault lines in the United states that produce mega quakes. The two cities that are at risk are Anchorage, and Seattle. This is because of a subduction fault off the coast. Subduction faults caused the Indian Ocean tsunami, and the Fukushima tsunami.

As it currently is, over 400 tremours in one day is a LOT. That was just yesterday, and over 3000 in 2 weeks. The rise of this and earthquake activity has risen a lot. Be prepared, this is putting more pressure on the plate on the west coastal areas, esp. in S Oregon and S Cal. Since 2021, things have been ramping up. In 2023 to now, even more so! This is not going to wait another 300 years, and can happen even now.

They were saying the big one since the early 1960's in California. Hasn't happen yet. It's like calling wolf all the time. Eventually you will be right and then you will hear the scientist say,see we warned you.
It comes every 300-600 years. If they knew about this stuff in the 1680s they would have been saying it then and been right. The last big Cascadia earthquake and tsunami occurred around 9pm on a cold January night in the year 1700.
