    Very Few Car Thieves Will Use Saws or Bolt Cutters, most of the time they will just look for a car with NO anti-theft devices and/or NO alarms.

    It's just a deterrent. But at only $15 bones I dont mind adding it to my cars limited theft deterrents. It took that dude more than a minute to get through it. If they really want it, and know what they're doing...They're gonna probably get it. I know if I saw a dude walking through a parking lot w/bolt cutters looking in car windows, I'd be filming and dialing 911. Hell, just walking around anywhere w/bolt cutters would raise my suspicion.

      As a tow operator it's weird because some of these I've cut through in less than 30 seconds this one took longer than expected I guess there's not really a whole lot of quality control in there heat treatment process or something either way at 2 in the morning as long as the thief isn't making a whole lot of noise they've got plenty of time

    You’re working too hard, boys! That’s the cheaper version of the Club. See that red dot on the right side of lock cylinder? Pop that off by drilling a hole big enough to get a small screwdriver in the hole. Pry off that red cap. A spring and small ball bearing will come out. The Club falls apart. DON’T BUY THAT VERSION OF THE CLUB!! Then mount the club on the opposite side of the steering wheel, pointing the key hole towards the dash. A thief then has no room for a drill or slide hammer. Anything can be defeated but that helps.

    Misses lost the key to the club. Tried the bolt cutters and didn’t make much headway. Laid into it with a hacksaw for ten minutes and didn’t do much either. This video gives me hope. I’ll disconnect the battery and give it a go tomorrow. I kept honking the horn and I’m trying to not mess up the steering wheel as it’s a Mini and has more buttons on it than Captain Kirk’s chair.

      Some people have had easy success picking a lock 30 good pair of bolt cutters put into the little Naches ten to work you do have to use a lot of force but I've done this quite a few times and for the most part it does work

    • @southernloverecords1341
      @southernloverecords1341 Před 5 lety +2

      I took another try with the 800 lb/psi bolt cutters. I barely made a mm dent it. I believe it’s possible but because of the design of the Mini steering wheel the thin part of the club was right over decorative and functional parts. In order to get a proper bite on it, I was damaging the steering wheel more than making headway on the club. I spent not quite $30 for a decent angle grinder, wrapped a husky towel over the steering wheel and under the club to protect it from sparks and had the thing off in maybe 60 seconds.

    I work for police in uk and have one of these , they will delay thieves, anything that delays them will put them off , if it takes 30 seconds to get off and will create a bit of noise whilst doing so its worth gettting . Most alarms now can be bypassed and are useless. Most thieves are opportunist druggies , they are stealing from vehicles rather than stealing vehicles, it doesnt take any skill to smash a window and grab the contents

    It took a little effort to snap that, I actually use the club in my charger Daytona when I go shopping, I cut the wheel all the way to one way and pull into the spot that way it can’t be towed out, and if it takes a few minutes for that snap sometimes it all is needed to catch a thief, it’s a deterrent,

    • @Pyro4100
      @Pyro4100  Před 2 lety +1

      It's a useful deterrent for theft it's not a theft proof measure because it involves more effort to deal with thieves usually will move on to the next car as far as Towing goes that won't stop the toe there's lots of times where we just drag cars or put dollies on the trailing end and charge the customer more in the end of the day if we have to work harder to tow it you just get stuck paying more

    This is the flimsiest club I had seen so far. I have one about twice the diameter, but I put it through the front wheel of my bike as additional safety measure rather than car steering wheel. On top of a whole bunch of other high-security locks, of course. I would think even that one is too flimsy to secure something as expensive as a car. In honesty, I don't even know if there is anything at all that would discourage a professional car thief, besides filling up your interior with cement, but even then some desperate piece of shit will try and tow it away until its tires pop from the weight. Vibration sensitive GPS trackers are great for a bike or an e-bike, just locking it outside the store you're paying a short visit to, as you may have time to stop the thief before he rides away, but you can't seriously expect to have time to stop a car which can go zero to 60 in seconds. Finding and disposing the tracker is not such a great challenge either. The only remedy here is insurance for theft, everything else is a joke.

      BlackDolphin90 anything's possible they're not really high security they just have additional keyways if you get a hold of one make a video of it that would be awesome and if I come across one in the future I might do the same

    Put your foot on the long bar of the club, pull in the middle where the shaft enters the club and it will snap pretty easy

      Cubs actually come out with 4 different keyways over the years including one that's a dimple key just a little food for thought

    Let this video be a lesson: if you park your car on the street with the doors unlocked, no ignition barrel and a switch hanging out of the air vent that starts the car, your vehicle may still be stolen despite having a club fitted to your steering wheel.....lol

      It is possible the right technique probably go right through the lock cylinder it's not hardened steel

  • @bjtaudio
    @bjtaudio Před 6 lety +1

    You don't need to be a strong guy to just pull and bend the bar until it snaps, no bolt cutters needed. Just grab the lock assembly and yank the bar will bend and snap, as it's very brittle.

    • @bjtaudio
      @bjtaudio Před 6 lety

      no i'm not, you can actually bend and snap the thin bar, the original club steering lock was rubbish. That why newer versions were release using 25mm SHS tubular steel box section, very strong, so the only option was to chop through the steering wheel or remove the steering wheel completely, and drive with a spanner on the shaft, yes this has been none.

    but what thief carry this

    • @Pyro4100
      @Pyro4100  Před 4 lety

      They do make bolt cutters that are just under 24 inches long easy to conceal on a jacket. Takes a bit more Force, but it is possible.

    • @Pyro4100
      @Pyro4100  Před 4 lety

      It also depends on where you are. Bolt cutters are commonly carried by a lot of people. In California sad to say a lot of Thieves have them they're cheap and easy to get.

  • @menemme
    @menemme Před 6 lety

    Dude...who uses bolt cutters anymore? mechanical defenses are easily defeated with simple mains grinders. You see back when the club was made there were only chord operated grinders. Anyway there are better alternatives to the club.

    • @Pyro4100
      @Pyro4100  Před 6 lety

      menemme that is true but usually thieves will just get a hacksaw and cut the stirring wheel axles are cheap and easy to use

  • @tonymead3740
    @tonymead3740 Před rokem +1

    Never buy one of those they're useless .
    These won't even use a bolt cutter Steve's nowadays will have a battery-opter grinder cut right to the steering wheel in 5 seconds cuz it's rubber and copper bend the wheel apart pull the lock off bend the wheel back put some duct tape on it.
    No one would never know these are useless.
    A real car seat will break through in seconds
