I love to use it as a quick action bomber. Equip everything, fly at max speed at 70m above ground, Germans and Italians won't waste their climb at the start of the match for you, drop 2500lbs of bombs + 6 rockets - a base is gone. Then climb, attacking the enemy from behind, where they least expect it. Works everytim.

The thing about the P-47 in War Thunder is that the game’s meta does not play to the P-47’s strengths (good high-speed maneuverability, exceptional dive speed and acceleration, very strong energy retention, high top speed at high altitudes), but instead to its weaknesses (poor low-speed acceleration, very poor low to medium-speed maneuverability, poor climb rate). Really for the P-47 to be at its most effective, it needs to start with an altitude advantage over its opponents and use boom-and-zoom tactics-like how it did in real life due to its role as a bomber escort. Really what War Thunder needs is more varied battle scenarios, including air spawns for the P-47 and even custom battles where both sides can start the battle at over 10 km altitude (this would also allow things like the implementation of GM-1 nitrous oxide on the Ta 152 and the addition of the Bf 109G-1/G-3/G-5-which have cockpit pressurization and can be equipped with GM-1).
Another thing about the Thunderbolt, your able to fly with one side of wings, you can have one entire side of elevators and main wings sheared off and still fly back to the base and land
How to p47: 1. Climb to the edge of space 2. Go horizontal and gain max speed 3. At this point, if your team hasnt won, congratulations you are basically invincible 4. Most likely though, you are the last person alive so get your 1 or 2 free kills before you blow your E advantage and become weak and useless
I've actually researched the P47 (like studied it and things about it from several long videos and articles) and I found several amazing things about it and have utilized these in game so to put it simply here is how to use it 1.this fucking plane out flies most enemy aircraft at medium to high altitude so try to keep the fights high 2.the P47 stays more mobile then other aircraft at high speeds and high altitudes 3.having arguably the best fuel injection system at the time, very VERY strong wings, and an extremely aerodynamic body accompanied by a 14 cylinder radial turbo supercharged engine you can violently pitch your nose down faster then any other plane of your rank and wings don't even start to risk ripping until your diving at 530 miles per hour so if your loosing at a high altitude dogfight simply escape by diving straight down, if the wee bastards try to follow you there wings will rip off 3.8 machine guns with ground target rounds fucking up all enemies in head ons so don't be afraid of head ons, but make sure you have the altitude and energy advantage if they don't die in the initial head on So if you are out in your P47 purely to dogfight have fun, remember these things, and remember to stay alert even though the P47 can tank enemy bullets I even bounced a 40mm shell from an enemy tank myself so it is a wonderful aircraft that was made not around easy forms of wanting to invent a new type of plane or make something crazy and unseen before it was instead made around all the best tested and proved technology available at its time and performed even better then ever expected

During mid climb you are intercepted. Your plane being at low to medium speeds, resulting in two out outcomes. Dogfighting or head-ons and diving. Praying to the all mighty WT developers why are those german fighters better in every way but making them fall like rocks at supersonic speeds. 3. Finding enemy aircraft in the same altitude. You're fucked if you didn't get him in the head on. Hopefully you can wing it and win it. 4. You actually have fun and everything goes to plan (hahaha, I'm joking. Your still fucked, there is still a chance of winning so...good luck?).
