“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

Please don’t ever stop posting these talks. They’ve helped me feel less alone in this crazy new nail journey. I’ve been doing nails for a year, and got licensed but my main problem is wanting to be perfect or someone I’m not. This has gotten in the way of getting clients because of the internal voice in my head saying I’m not good enough. I am good enough. I’m still a beginner and I’m gonna make mistakes. This video just validated that for me, thank you

I chickened out of three interviews waiting to be perfect. Lol. I just took the plunge and got hired in a nail salon last week. Now they said I’m not ready to do full sets and put me on manicures and pedicures at least I got my foot in the door. Now I’m out of my comfort zone and I’m glad I did. Now I can work on my dream of being a nail tech.

I love that you guys do these videos! It's been helping me out A LOT
I struggle with this "being perfect" idea ALL of the time. I spend at least 45 minutes doing prep. I've been doing nails professionally for about two years and it takes me 1.5 - 2 hours to do a full set. My acrylic application takes two seconds but spend the rest of the time prepping and finish filing and shaping. I spend more time putting on polish!! It drives me nuts. But most of my clients are cool with it because they say that my nails last much longer because of that. 🤷

This is truth! All those videos I watch because I’ve been in the business about 20 years but only did natural nail service, make me feel that unless I’m PERFECT I have a real nerve trying gels. And I’m having so much fun playing at home with hopes of starting at home business, however I find myself so stressed and anxious after watching CZcams and Instagram that I think I have some nerve even trying. The struggle is very real. Never did acrylic cause no one ever taught it. School only played some videos for us from Tammy Taylor. Went out into the world and they lifted. Other techs only said try more primer! I gave up and went to only natural service. I was happy and very busy. I’m gonna take the leap. Must stay at home to take care of my mother but I’m ready now and just gonna keep watching the “how to fix that mistake “ videos and just relax. Thanks guys!

Then clients have unrealistic expectations because they’re judging you based off what they see on IG. The struggle is real but I won’t give up

The art is subjective reminded me of FB nail groups that post pictures of "what I wanted vs what I got." I'm so tired of people complaining about not getting exactly what the pic was. There's so many factors in that aside from people chiming in on "their" opnion of the set. In the end it's all subjective, and they need to stop wanting "perfect photo" nails for cheap then bitch about it.

There are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge. Your nails can be perfect and use perfect nail pictures as inspiration and make you do the work it takes to get them perfect. The only way to get perfect nails. It does exist you just have to believe it and put the work in.

Last two sets I did, I really didn’t obsess over them, and they were not perfect, but they were not that much different from the nails I literally spent 4 hours on, and they were still not perfect, because perfection doesn’t exist!!!
Oh and starting last year, I made it a point not to obsess over my IG posts, and that really worked out. Before I wouldn’t post because I was worried about the caption or what the right tags would be... now if I am too busy, I just post the picture abs take care of that stuff later if I get around to it, if not, then at least I posted some content on my page 😅

I think this is important from the client side too. Because the client might come in expecting that you will fix their less than perfect nails. But they don't realize that people's fingers and people's nails aren't perfect, and there are limits to what enhancements can hide or camouflage. So it's important for clients to also recognize, like: Hey, you are a real human and not a model or a plastic hand and yeah, your nail bed is asymmetrical, or You're sidewalls aren't parallel, or your fingers is bent in a weird direction. That's OK. Everybody has that. Your not the only one who has some wonkiness. But your hands still look beautiful regardless.

We need a video on nail infections. Is it a nail infection or is it a “greeny”, what’s the difference, how can you determine from the 2, baterial vs fungal. I seen on Instagram that a nail tech was working on top of a green spot on the nail and claiming it was a greenie and not an infection. I thought if it filled away it was a greenie. Anytime my client ever came in with a green spot from moisturizer and germs getting under their lifting, I sent straight to a dermatologist? I thought I was educated but now I’m confused. My cosmetology school didn’t go deep into these things. I can’t find the answers anywhere. Thank you!!!

  • @queenofstitcheswarrior2668

Seriously 😂😂 I commented an hour ago about my perfectionism and it’s like you heard me😊 Fear is not my issue, it is me wanting to compete, want to be the best in everything i do😖 I know my base is good and last very long on the nails so that’s good but it takes to long so i have to change something in the proces. Exactly that, i thought my first building gel application should be perfect before i even start filing😂
    Perfectionism leads to frustration!
But it also leads to being very good in what you do, in my case (best in class, best in ballet, fastes runner, swimmer, best hairstylist in competitions) I like to be a winner and push myself but i know that I’ll never be the best nailartist and that’s fine! Whow did i say that out loud?!😂You have to decide what you want and give in on some point(s). Letting it go if it blocks you from getting things done. I am doing it, period!

I’m so relating to this because I’m not perfect but definitely scared to post on my utube channel the nail life. Like any thing can happen right!? But yet you have to try😉 you see all these amazing videos and you let yourself feel like you have to have a high standard to live up to. My first videos are absolutely horrible. Only 4 but I’m trying. So eventually I’ll become more confident in myself and stop tripping all over my words. Lol
Plus the content, like for real. You get so nervous and syke your self out. Am I good enough?? But listen y’all can do it!! You can just keep pushing it will get easier and better with time. Then you’ll look back and have a good laugh at yourself and your first videos 🤣🤣🤣
Love you guys I need this video lesson in my life ! I’ll try to apply it. We will see. 💋💋💋💋💋💋💋🙌🏽💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾

I'm going to check you out! I'm 30 videos in and still trying to prove something on every video. Right now, I'm working on lightning. Just keep going. I just got my 200th subscriber yesterday. It took 4 months to get my 1st 100 and 24 days to get my 2nd 100. I'm not letting rough editing or tripped up words so me. You shouldn't either! I love the name of your channel Too!!

For once I respectfully disagree. Setting a standard high is how we succeed, not setting it low. If I had listened to this advice I never would have built a multimillion dollar company. People that succeed have high standards. You don't build a multimillion dollar company without grit, passion and knowlege. Knowing your product and customer service with sound business practices make you successful.
after all we are building for our future. If we have families we have another reason to be diriven to success. Success is not cheating your clients by make do. you over do to get them to return. this nonsense about only doing what you need to do is garbage. You just make do, you will never be successful. If you do'n't learn everything you can possibly learn about your craft! you will not make it in todays business world. Some may disagree, but they are not being honest to themselves or anyone else.
No one is perfect, but we strive for perfection daily in our lifes endeavors. The mre you know the less work there is to it.
