HI GUYS! Just a quick update - I've heard from multiple sources that testers have determined that 4U truncates the number, not rounds up. So 8.01, 8.5, and 8.99 damage would all just become 8.

One thing that many seemed to miss in regards to your calculation of damage is that you're supposed to multiply the monster's defence value. It is a "weakness modifier," meaning if they have a 0.8 value, they'll be taking 20% less damage. You can see this by comparing values between Low, High, and G-rank monsters.
You can also confirm it by doing a rough count of the kicks in the video. They would have killed Akantor by roughly the 5:30 mark of this video if the original calculations were correct.
1*5*1,25*0,8 = 5
6'000 HP / 5 = 1200 kicks

Monster Defense := Initial Defense * Defense Modifier For Quest
With Initial Defense = 100 and a quest specific Defense Modifier of 0.8, that would lead to:
80 = 100 * 0.8
So, the monster has 80 defense effectively.
That means, you do more damage.
So it is indirectly and not directly proportional!
Monster armor goes DOWN = hunter damage goes UP.
Multiplying by 0.8 makes your damage go DOWN, which would make it directly proportional, which it is not.
Your damage goes up, so you divide by 0.8.
The only fault in the calculation is that he rounded up. Oh and he had a "typo" which corrupted the end result.
1 x 5 x 1.25 / 0.8 is not 8.71 but 7.81.
And MH is not that generous - it usually just clips away the fractional part, so that
7.8 becomes 7, not 8.
Team arksid went ahead with 9, which significantly reduced the total amount of kicks needed to 666.6' (periodically).
But the right number is 7, so its 6000/7 = 857.14
So they would have needed 858 kicks, not 667 kicks.
But... you know... "Team Darkside" - "666", ... might not be that coincidental...

@@tanko.gaming8207 Sorry for digging up old comments, but there's also one glaring error in what he said. He said "Felyne kickboxer increases kick damage by 500%." That would make kick damage 6, not 5. Either he meant to say multiplies kickdamage by 500%, or that's an error in math. Well, 1x6x1.25/0.8 = 9.375, so that'd make the damage 9.
Edit: I went and kicked low level slagtoths a bunch, didn't bother to throw rocks for precision. 37 kicks (no buffs) vs. 8 kicks (f. kickboxer) -> 4.625x, so that means f. kickboxer multiplies by 500%, not increaces by 500%. Nice to know.

No, what he means is that "increased by 500%" was said in the video, but what was meant was "increased TO 500%". "Increased by 500%" refers to 5x the original number being added on, i.e. 100% + 500% = 600%, whereas "Increased to 500%" refers to the original number being multiplied by 5, or 100% increasing to 500%, which is x5.
I'm pretty sure MH4U drops any decimals if there are any after calculations before damage is done. Meaning at 8 damage per kick, it would take 750 kicks.

GS kick actually has a 2% motion value, not fixed 1 point of damage, meaning that higher attack strengthens it, plus attack honing may affect it if the attack gets past a certain point after it. Then add Kickboxer to it and affinity and that's why you didn't take forever for it. Otherwise, it would have taken a lot longer to beat it you know, at least twice the time you needed.

I did a calculation by kicking to death some simple monsters like
Aptonoth to verify, and the time it took changed between using a true 60
GS and true 300 one. I wasn't using the Kickboxer skill for it to be
more accurate. It should be quick to test yourselves considering it has
just a little health. Make sure to leave the Palicos behind so they
don't attack it. Additionally, various guides online as well as
tutorials say it's a motion value of 2. For example, in tutorials like Gaijin Hunter's GS one it's said so and in the japanese forum where they were
calculating the motion values for the game when it first released it
also said so (can't find the link now, but it's easy to verify by
looking at other guides).

Akantor is pain, I know for a fact. I farmed it for the armor, great sword, dual blades, switch axe, bow, hunting horn and the sword and shield.

Meine Güte, ihr bekommt es immer wieder hin, mit irgendwelchen skurrilen Taktiken bessere Ergebnisse abzuliefern als ich mit regulären Methoden. Wie wäre es aber mal damit? Ein großes Monster, also wieder Akantor, Fatalis oder Dar´en mit Leicher Armbrust, genauer gesagt nur mit Normal S Stufe 1? Dafür hilfreiche Fähigkeiten gibt es eine ganze Menge, z.B. Felyne-Scharfschütze, Normal/Schn. Hoch und einfach das Schnellfeuer der Waffe. Allerdings macht der Schuss eben kaum Schaden und ich kann mir nur schwer vorstellen, wie es einen wirklichen Panzer unter den Monstern ausschalten könnte. Herausforderung angenommen?

Well you can config to put the kick command in the botton start, like i did, its easier press the botton than touchscreen, but yeah it can kill the botton as well
Sorry if someone's already asked but are you sure the defence modifier affects true damage? I feel like I would have heard about it affecting bombs if so, and I've always assumed it modifies their hitzones.

how do you farm for talismens like those? i'm trying to make one of your greatsword sets, but i can't seem to find the attack+14 talismen to get attack XL, weakness exploit, Rock steady, critical draw, and focus. where do you get the talismen and how do you gem your sets? i really love your armor sets and i would love to make this if you could show us a few tutorials on your sets or something. sorry if i'm asking too much of you guys
Guild quest grinding. There's no way except that, i think.
I speeded 140 Rajang + Stygian a couple hundred times for leveling up, relic weapons and charms
you gotta do 140 guild quests, and survive them.
136-140 Guild Quests will give you the Graven Charms needed to get talismans with stats in those skills, 140 double monster GQ's giving you the best odds.

We already had that in mind. We can only do it, if there is a way to charge the art without hitting the targeted monster
there's one way. Getting hit by monster with striker style, which is why it'll take quite a long time to charge the art, I don't know if there's skill to accelerate the art charging when getting hit.
If you're using aerial style simply jumping on a monster/bomb or another hunter fills the hunter art gauge, you can only equip 1 tho. I don't think jumping on a monster does damage(unless you use a weapon with jump attack like DB, or SNS) so this might be the solution.
But that works only for areal style

It was really weird, though. When he was throwing the flash bombs, they would instantly increase back up to 5 for a bit. Is there some sort of quick combination touch screen button?
