- Katie has sent me an absolute treasure trove of maps! We're starting with some vintage ones of New Hampshire, her beautiful home state and from the looks of it a fantastic place to go hiking. I particularly like the look of those lakes in the middle of the mountains... Thank you, Katie!!! 💜

To hear one of my favorite ASMRtists, one who lives on a completely different continent, mention Crawford Notch where I worked and lived at a hiker hostel for two summers, is amazing.
The White Mountains is a beautuful place. And yes, NH still obsesses over the Old Man of the Mountains, even though it collapsed over 20 years ago LOL
I always forget it was that long ago that he collapsed!!
I grew up skiing at Cranmore mountain, the mountain with the skimobile. It is funny you mentioned it looks just like Austria because Cranmore Mountain was bought/established by an Austrian man named Hannes Schneider. He built the skimobile and was a world famous ski instructor.
My mind was blown when I saw the picture of the old base lodge in the brochure. Thats the building my ski team used. Ive been through that door hundreds of times.
I just found this channel . It’s rare to get great ASMR along with great education about the world . Best of all she puts so much work and great detail in every video !

this is my home state as well! i love watching the map videos to get a taste of somewhere i've never been before but it was so nice to take a look at these old maps and know exactly where each picture was taken :) thanks for another great video!

The long line of people are skiers hiking up Tuckerman's Ravine. There is no ski lift on Mt Wash. Tuckerman's Ravine is a bowl and collects a high amount of snow per winter so in the spring and summer you can ski it. It's often very dangerous, deaths can happen.

I hiked the Franconia Ridge last Fall. Such a beautiful spot, the topography always stuns me as a native of New England (which is otherwise so flat).

As a native New Hampshirite, I’m genuinely astounded that anyone is aware we exist. Most of the country has no idea we exist
It looks like such a nice place to go hiking tho! If I were in the US, I'd definitely come on vacation there.
Prior to this video the only thing I really understood about the White mountains was 1 that they were in Vermont and to that that is where the film White Christmas is set
That’s about all we’re known for. When I stayed with family in VA, most people I met hadn’t even heard of NH

Could you do more videos that are a bit more relatable for people outside of the US. I get that there a lot of viewers there but recently you have been posting a lot of map videos that are in the US. Just my opinion, love you stuff though, keep it up! ❤❤❤
"Outside the US" is a very broad term and New Zealand or Australia or South Africa (as examples of places Melange has done) are just as "unrelatable" for me as the US, in that regard... I find it to be rather the contrary that learning more about all these faraway places makes them more relatable.
@@beth12svist I actually agree with you. I would like there to be more videos outside of the US. Maybe relatable wasn't the right word to use. I rather meant for there to be more variety instead of a lot of US centric stuff. More map video's about places like china, japan, india, africa, etc. would be awesome and these are all places that I do not live. Maybe it's also a thing about the scope of the topic. I personally would prefer videos about countries, languages and continents over videos about regions, mountains, cities etc.
