I just received my 5G home internet. In my bedroom, I was getting 4 bars, but I wanted 5 bars, which is excellent, so I moved it to the kitchen window. Now, my download speed is very fast.
Even if it improves the signal, Tmobile has still been capping download and upload speed limits. And no improved modem or antenna is going to change that fact.
Where are you seeing 'capping'? If you roam with your router, you may actually be in an LTE area or an area with austere service that isn't approved for their service.
I got the original t-mobile gateway and it has seem to work very good most places. I have traveled around the Southwest, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Southern California. Sometime I was getting 0ver 200mg download speeds. Recently in Yuma AZ it was so slow (under 5mg) download I was able to use it for any tv streaming. Today we are in Santee CA at the Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve and the speed is around 5-10mg download so I might be able to watch some streaming videos. SO I'm thinking maybe one of the newer gateway's with the external antennas may work better, it's something I will look into when I get back home. I'm not sure if I can just go to a T-Mobile store in another state and request to trade my old gateway in on a new one?
Santee Lakes has terrible cellular service in most of the campground (anything past the pool). If you are staying there a while you can go to local at&t store and they will sell you 25mbps internet. This is hard wired internet, so an installer will come out to your campsite and install a modem in your RV. I have done this whenever I am staying there for 1 month or longer.
None of the carriers have good reception at Santee Lakes. CG is in a bowl and next to a military air base. Even boosters don't help much. External antennas help some. CG wifi is also spotty, especially on weekends. One of the places where Starlink is very popular. Ext@@JH______
That's a good question, but I think it's probably pretty unlikely. T-Mobile makes it clear on their website that the antenna will only work with the two routers that have antenna ports.
I have an off topic question with the verizon 60 days to unlock a phone does that also apply to leased devices that are not paid off will those devices be unlocked after 60 days as long as I have verizon service and am current with my bills
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter yes that is the video that brought me here it didn't mention anything about leased devices and I was wondering if you had any information on that
@@Lazy943 Unfortunately we don't and Verizon's device unlock policy webpage doesn't mention leased devices. Recommend you contact Verizon for guidance.
Sooo… Can it be used while driving / in motion? Of If I connect my 7in1 antennas to this unit, can I put it pass through mode and connect it to a WAN port on my Peplink?
By terms, it's for fixed locations only - so in motion use isn't officially supported (but we have no reports of it not working). And yes, you can use the Ethernet out to another router that accepts WAN inputs.
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter do we have to update address / location online for it to work as we move around? If so, of the place we are stopped at has no address??

@@MobileInternetResourceCenter looks like we can’t put the T-Mobile router in bridge mode and shut off its WiFi? That means Peplink would be fighting with interference on WiFi. Has T-Mobile changed this? Have you been able to place it in bridge mode and connect it to another router?
@@richardburguillos3118 we turned off our Pepwave's router, connected to our home internet via Wan, and then broadcast our internet via Amazon's Eero Mesh system. We don't see much of an issue with interference between our home internet always on wifi and the mesh system.

They probably don’t have specs for the antenna because they have 5 or more different versions and you won’t know which one you’re going to get :)

We have not yet heard of success in requesting a specific model.

Not with the TMHI plan - it only works on the provided gateway.
