Learning how to price your items is definitely a learning curve! I've found that if I have a product that sells really well and I can't seem to keep it in stock, it means that I'm pricing it too low and should probably raise it so I can keep up with demand. You'll definitely learn as you do more markets what price points work for your products! :)
Good to know!! Thanks!
Really?! I would have thought it just meant it was really popular because people thought it was cute and would push myself to make more of that item. I wouldn’t have thought it would be that people think it’s a cheaper option! That’s good to know. Have you found that it still sells well after you raise prices?
@@trishasmith2303 its a learning curve, if you're selling out of a $5 product you inch your way up to a higher price. Try $6 each or two for $10 and if they're still selling out, $7 each or 2 for $12. See what works for your markets. Maybe one of your markets is at a location with a higher cost of living and people expect to spend more on handmade goods. Worst case, if you find you raised a price and the item isn't selling, just lower it again! I've personally never had to lower a price that I've increased, but I also tend to inch my way up to that higher price point slowly.
@@badsissycrochetman.. I still don't know how to do that 🤦🏻♀️
I keep thinking "is this too expensive?? too cheap?? what if I can't make any selling if I sell it this much??" 😢
💙💙💙
A cool idea for the ones that you don't like the look or quality of--a clearance bin. It will make it easier for customers to understand why something would be a lower price than a similar one. Customers often judge prices based on size over workmanship. They may not be able to spot what you consider a quality issue simply because they don't know the craft.
I was thinking of doing that, but I didn’t and now I have hardly any clearance items left 😅
@@miss.a.crochetOR you should wrap with some wrapping paper or old newspapers and have a lucky dip situation
ooohhh cool!
I really like your video! I subscribed at first just because you actually looked at the filming screen instead of the viewing screen lololololo I'm staying subscribed because I really like your personality and your work is so cute!!!!
Haha thank you! You’re the second person that has said that! I just use my phone to film so I don’t have the viewing option unless I prop up a mirror 😅
I know you don't want us to talk about pricing but I think it's so smart to lower the prices of the stuff that hasn't sold in a long time. I don't think I would of ever thought about that myself. Like I would of just pulled it from my markets but you're still making the materials money back instead of losing profit. Genius
It’s ok to talk about prices, I just don’t want people being rude/snarky about my business decisions!
I almost just cut them all up and got back my stuffing, but my time still went into them and they aren’t all bad so I thought I would try selling them for less and it worked!
You are so sweet! I loved watching your video - your energy and enthusiasm for crochet plushies is awesome! I love how you have a wide range of priced items to cater for all budgets. Nice work!
thank you so much!! I really try to make sure EVERYONE can get something at my booth!
Hey Anna just stumbled across your channel and this is the only video I’ve seen. Great stuff. I will certainly watch more. Remember, you are an artist. What is easy for you is impossible for others. People will be happy to pay a good price for your art. Even more importantly, be proud of yourself.
Hi! Thanks for checking out my video, I’m glad you liked it!
It’s very easy to forget I’m just one person running a small business when everything we see is big corporations trying to out-price each other. Thank you for the reminder!
Watching this while I market prep for a Halloween Trick or Treat market I'm doing in October! I'm so proud of you, that's amazing for a first market!
Thank you so much! A Halloween market sounds like a lot of fun! I hope it goes well!
Thank you for sharing your experience! What a happy thing to do- making cute friends and then seeing people enjoy them. Perfect!
You’re welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! It was so much fun watching people’s faces light up when they walked into my booth!
I'm so glad to hear your market went well! Your prices seem very fair, especially for handmade items.
Thank you! I really do try and not overprice my work, but I still have to pay myself right!? 😅
I'm so happy that I found your channel!!! Your work is AMAZING!
Thank you so much!
Anna, you are on your way! You will get better at what you are doing and some products you will get better at over time. The right prices you decide on will come also for your area. Each market venue will be different in what you nay sell. Your set up looks great. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I’m really proud of how my setup turned out!!
Awesome video! This was really interesting! That festival sounds fun, might have to go there next year!
Thank you! I’m hoping I can go back next year and sell more!
I LOVE the colors you picked for your leggy frogs! 😍
Thank you! 😊
I enjoyed your video!
Ty for sharing so much info!❤️❤️❤️
You are so welcome!
Yay!! Congrats!!
Thank you!! 🎉
You have THE CUTEST creations!!!! Oh my gosh I would buy so much if your stuff if I found your booth, and I crochet as well!
Aw thank you so much!
Your products plus the quality, size, and time seem fairly priced!! And I totally understand having to raise the price to still afford demand and make profit I think you’re doing well I would buy! EDIT OMg THE FROGSSSSSSSSS AND ALLIGATORSSSSSS OMG! You’re so talented I could never
Thank you so much!!!
i was at finn creek and i bought one of your items and i love it! i also just started crocheting!
aw thank you so much! Oohhh what’s your favorite thing to crochet?
That angry uterus is FANTASTIC. Love the idea!
haha thank you!
I feel you with the chicken situation! My first market i made a ton of bees, and the first day no one bought them. i was about to drop the price but on the second day, i sold all but 4 bees! At the end of the 3rd day, all bees sold at full price. It was amazing! Don't give up on the chickens lol
haha good to know!
Congratulations!! You are a inspiration.
Thank you so much! 🥰🥹
Oh goodness, the alligators are so cute! Isn't it funny how things seem like a lot in totes but not a lot once you get them on the table? I love bats with and without fangs. Your tags are super cute as well. Thank you for sharing your progress!
thank you so much!! I definitely felt like 136 plushies was a lot, but it really wasn’t 😅
I love your energy and excitement about your crafts! I'm sure that came off to the customers as well which I'm sure helped your sales. I definitely would have bought at least one chicken! I have chickens, ducks, alpacas, bunnies, and a kitty so I would definitely gravitate to any of those too!
Thank you so much!
Woah that’s a lot of animals 😅
All these prices are perfect. Most people think it’s too expensive but it all depends on time, yarn, and price of the material. Hope this helps with future projects
Thank you! I totally agree, I'm not doing this just for the money but I definitely shouldn't be loosing money!
So cute, great job! I’d so buy them if I went to you market. Great job, and I think your prices are spot on! :)
thank you!!!
ah Your creations are SO CUTE!! Great prices!!!!
Thanks so much! 😊
Oh my gooossshhh!! Your items are so freaking cute!!!! I would buy way to much stuff at your store lol. But truely you have an amazing talent, and are super creative with your plushies!💖
aw thank you so much! 🥰
I love your plushies. I have an up coming market here in the UK in October and I’m inspired to make the bats you made. Congratulations on your amazing first market, I hope mine goes as well 🤞
Thank you so much! I have another market in October too so I hope both of our markets go well!! 🥰
I think your prices are spot on. Pretty much what I'd charge. Some ppl charge so much that I KNOW I wouldn't pay, and that's how I price mine. Glad you had a great market. I'm worried about doing a 2 day one due to my health issues.
Thanks! I tried hard to price my products pretty fairly!
I like doing markets. I have one for sure Saturday and possibly a night market tomorrow. It’s always great to learn what sells best.
Nice! I hope it goes well!!
This was my first time seeing you. Congratulations on a great market. Sorry about the sunburn. I love your positive attitude. You even made me think beyond the sale. I'd never considered the play time it might have or snuggles. Thanks for that. 🧶💚
Welcome!! Thank you! I sometimes get a little existential about other people bringing my creations home, it’s an incredible feeling!
Omg i love all the little shrimps so much😭❤
yay! I’m glad you like them! People thought they were silly but they we NOT interested in purchasing them.
Love all these Ami’s!😊
thank you!!!
Congrats on your first market! 🥰
thank you so much! 🥰
This video is really helpful! I always struggle with prices, because I feel like oh its too much, no one is going to buy it, I need to lower the price. But I also spent a lot of time making this plush. Trying to learn how to value my time and work, thank you for sharing your experience!
I’m so glad it was helpful! 🫶
I AM INLOVE WITH THE STUDIO GHIBLI PLUSHIES IN THE BACKKKKK
hehehe me too!!!
Congratulations 🎉🎊 this is awesome, I have a Christmas market coming and I’m hoping for good sells
thanks! I hope your market goes well!
Congratulations 🎉 on your first market ❤
Thank you!! 🥰
i love your crab pattern!
Thank you so much!
I think your prices are really reasonable. Love everything especially the Halloween ones! And fangs all the way for the bat. 😊
Thank you!! 🦇🧛
You are adorable and I love the enthusiasm ❤❤
Thank you! I really appreciate it! 🥰🥹
I made a whole bunch of stuff that I thought was super popular for my first market and none of it sold. Now I really like making things you don’t see very often as it sells pretty well.
yes! people were freaking out over my uterus, shrimp, and possums!
Aww your turtles are adorable!!
Thank you! They’re one of my favorites to make!
Loved your video. On the pricing: it’s almost impossible to know over a video if your prices are high or low so idk how anyone could comment on that. There’s so many factors: market saturation, income in the area, where you buy your yarn, and other costs. I heard you comment on Etsy prices, I’m on Etsy and sell in craft fairs. I make it known in all my Etsy advertising that in person sales are cheaper because I do free shipping and Etsy takes a percent. So Etsy pricing and in person is different (easy example is my mini bees $4 in person around $9 on Etsy because of all the shipping costs)
I always tell people to make sure you charge what you’re worth. But there’s a million factors that go into determining that. I’m glad you found the price for you and are sticking to it!
Thank you for the feedback, I’m so glad you liked the video!
exactly! that’s why I just tell people not to come after me for my pricing 😂 I’m still learning and even if I think someone is charging too much/too little I don’t say anything because it’s their business and their choice!!
Ive done quite a few markets and I HIGHLY recommend setting up the tent no matter what. Cloudy? Set it up incase it rains. Sunny? Set it up so you dont fry. Its always worth it
yeah I definitely agree with you on that 😂 that auburn was brutal
this is abousloutly amazing prices and designs love this
Thank you so much!
Congratulations. That’s awesome 👏🏻
thank you so much!
I love, love, love doing markets. I have done a lot of markets for a lot of years, I'm 64 years old. Plushies are definitely the best handmade items to sell. Everyone from young to old seem to love them. I usually do fairly large markets, but decided to do a market at a Tractor Supply store near me. My granddaughter works there and wanted me to attend. There was a huge festival going on near by so I'm sure everyone was there shopping. It was me, and 1 other vendor who was selling honey. I think maybe 10 people came by for the 4 hours I was there and I still managed to sell around $100 worth of plushies. I can never tell what will be best sellers at any given market, but I do know that frogs may be super popular at one and chickens at the next. Hope you get into the market you applied for and if you do, good luck!!
Thanks! I did get into the one I mentioned so I’m super excited!
That’s awesome that you did that well at such a small market!
I really wanna do a winter market and I wanna get as much info as I can about the experience and what I'll need, so this was a great help!
I’m glad it helped! I hope your market goes great!!
Your plushies are adorable. Glad you sold a lot at your market.
Thank you! 😊
tip for under stuffed: use a hook and just pull more filling in! takes a little time but works!
I just saw an instagram reel about that!
congrats on such a successful market! I did a really affordable market in my area recently and made like $100, yes it's very rewarding to know that people love your handmade items. I make mostly handbags but I also weave and do digital art prints. Your prices are great, definitely price worth your time and investment in the yarn. adorable plushies!!! wish you all the best.
Thank you so much!
Your awesome! Great job! I love your ghosts!
Thank you so much! 👻
your prices are perfect! dont change Them!
Thank you!
You did really well! Plushies are a great niche. The chickens were really cute. I can't get into them. I made an elephant once a long time ago and that was enough to let me know amigurumi is not my jam. I do maybe one or two shows a year and the thing I've learned is to make things for kids. I have had parents who said last year they couldn't find scarves for her kids. That happens at every show. It finally dawned on me to make things geared for kids. I got my biggest idea from you was your signage. I had the idea to do signage the way you did yours and you confirmed it for me. I'm in the midst of making my inventory for the show in October.
Nice! Amigurumi isn’t for everyone, my best friend is in love with crocheting blankets now!
I feel like items for kids creates the biggest customer base, you have the kids, parents, grandparents, and other family/friends purchasing from you!
If you get accepted for the cheerleading event, I think a great idea and a great seller would be if you made plushies of some of the mascots. You could look up if any of the teams have mascots and make little plushies, because then people on that team are more likely to buy that than a random plushy, and people will probably tell teammates about them so I think it could be really successful. Loved this video!
That’s smart! 🤞 I get accepted into the market!
@@miss.a.crochet Awesome! You could even make some mini ones and make them into keychains
Seriously seeing the kiddos faces after buying them is the best
It totally is!!
You go girl 💪!!!
thank you!!!
I’m new to crochet but I still love to support and I will definitely check out your shop♥️
Is there an estimated date on when you will upload a new batch♥️🫶🏽 let me know please and thank you
Thank you so much! I am not currently selling any of my physical plushies on Etsy as I have a market in October, but I do sell my patterns on Etsy!
I'm from England I love the octopus the best, tip for stuffings you can use any leftover yarn
Thanks!!
Omg hiii you´re sooo cuteee, congrats on your first market I hope someday I can do it too :)
Thank you so much! I was really nervous going into it, but it ended up being a great experience so I definitely recommend when you’re ready to try one out!
This is amazing! You made so many cute plush! I hear you on that triceratops! I just don’t have the bandwidth for the original pattern 😂 but have you tried the revised frill pattern they put out? It’s so much easier! Happy crocheting!
Thank you! I saw there was a revised frill version, but I haven’t made it yet. I think the hardest part of the pattern is the row after the frills so if I made it again I would do the drills in the FLO
Very nice. Very reasonable priced. I think you can charge more. Beautiful work you do.
thank you so much!
Love the chickens in the display.
me too!!!
i think your pricing is spot on! (im literally in the first 5 mins so i might be speaking too soon but i have full faith in your pricing)
haha thank you! I try to not overthink my pricing, but I want to make sure I am charging enough for my work!
So I'm preparing for a Market, going to sell jewelry I made. I actually really liked your video. Having stock is something I'm also working on❤❤❤
Wow, you are so inspiring, thank you for sharing, I hope my 1st Market will be this fun😀😀😁
Thank you! I’ve tried getting into making jewelry but it hurts my fingers too much 😅
I hope your first market goes great!!
Congrats!!!!!🎉
thank you! 🥰
Super cute!
Thank you! 😊
The shrimp are awesome!
thanks!
Love your work! Congrats on your first market, that's a huge achievement!
Your plushies are so cute, including the chickens. I've found when selling at craft markets people are afraid to pick things up if they are hard to reach or might knock something over... I wonder if the hen house, while very cute, might have deterred people from buying them? With toys especially people love to touch and squish them before they buy! Perhaps you could use a different display? Or, the same display but with a few more chickens pecking in front of the hen house? See how you go. Keep up the cuteness! :)
Thank you so much!
I never considered that!! I’ll have to do a little experiment at my next market and have some chickens outside of the house!
You have cool items and your prices a steal 😱
thank you so much!
It's so hard to price crochet items and I think you did amazing , love all your stuff , im horrible with amigurumi but im wanting to try again with looking at all your stuff :)
Thank you!! You should definitely try again!!
You have quite an opportunity if you get into that market you applied to! Parents will buy their participating kids gifts. Maybe make some long stem flowers, teddy bears if not too time consuming, and look up cheer leading gifts and consolation gifts. Go with $4,000 in inventory! 20 schools is a lot of people and potential customers! Hugs!
Right! 🤞 they email me back 😅
New subscriber here. Fun video. I love your energy! I also live in Minnesota.😊
Thanks for subscribing! Minnesota gang!!!
Love it and yes price is right and I know it’s hard my daughter started and now makes so many things she has made all her winter sweaters I want to learn but I’m scared to start
that’s amazing! I made on sweater and I hated it lmao! You should definitely give it a try!
So, this isn't negative at all but I love how wild and all over the place your prices are. Idk why but that was so entertaining. I even backed up and watched that part again haha.
haha yeah I definitely wanted to get some of my old plushies just out of my inventory so I could feature my newest and best work! Thank you!
Need the pattern for the candy corn fellas! Everything is so cute! I’m prepping for an October market now ❤
I’ll start working on it!!
I’m preparing for a market in October too!!
Congratulations ❤❤❤🎉🎉
thank you!!
I love the angry uterus that is hilarious and I love the dragon
thank you!
Not you just wanting them out of your house lol I have the same problem!!! I’m getting ready for my 2nd market ever, the end of September, and I’m realizing I just want to get rid of some of my items from my 1st market lol the more I improve, the more I want to get rid of! You did awesome, good work and this is definitely a constant learning thing!! But a lot of fun, keep up the good work!
haha right! I just want them out of here!! I hope your market goes well!
Great job!! Where you were at looks a lot like the Forestville State Park area!
Thanks! That’s cool, but I was MUCH farther up north hahaha 😅
Congratulations 👏👏👏
I would love if in Brazil had this kind of market.
Thank you! When I was in Peru so many people were selling their crochet items in small shops all over! Maybe you just have to be the one to start it!
I’m impressed that you went to a market and sold $450 worth the Crocheted toys
me too hahaha
Great video! As someone who is interested in trying a few local craft shows this year, this helps me a LOT! I would love to try some of the stress pets, but I am having a hard time reading the pattern. I’ve been trying to find a good tutorial for it, but haven’t had any luck. Any chance you can point me in the direction of one or maybe make a short showing how to start them?
I struggled with them at first too, the pattern actually starts with their feet, not their ears! I hope that helps!
i think your prices are great ❤
Thank you! I try to be affordable but fair to myself and my work!
Would also love to see what you have leftover :) lol I’m a visual person, sorry! But maybe that can be the start to the next market prep!
That’s so fair haha I just knew the video was going to be long so I didn’t bother 😅
I’m a new to crochet plushies I usually crochet clothes but those take a long time and I really wish to sell crochet items that don’t take as long so I’m considering selling plushies so thanks for helping me figure out how a market works!
Clothes can be complicated 😅 I’m sure you would do just fine making plushies since (I think) making clothes is harder
That's awesome that you were successful in your first market! I was kinda inspired to do a market as well but I just want to practice more. But a little idea popped in my head: maybe put a little recommendation sheet asking the buyers to think of different animals they would like to buy/see as well
I almost made a recommendation jar where they would write what animals or colors they wish I had!
Loved your video! ❤ Where did you get the display for your chickens??
Thank you! I got it at Hobby Lobby sadly (I usually don’t purchase from them due to their anti-lgbt views that I do not agree with, I am a very strong ally)
I love the jellyfish with the long tentacles. If you can make that much money off of each one then kudos to you. I can't ever sell my stuff for what I think they're worth or even less. Oh I also love the little frogs lol.
thanks! It took a couple markets for the big jelly to sell for that price (I might have added a discount I cannot remember) but he eventually sold!
I love the frogs too, I’ve just made so many I get burnt out making them
Hi! This is my first time seeing your channel and I loveee it!! My favorite thing is definitely the pancake whale-- which brands/shades of yarn did you use to make that? I'm looking for similar colors, but my favorite brands don't seem to have anything close enough.
Thank you so much! I used bernat blanket in Sand, Vanilla, burnt mustard (I think), and Taupe
Those are some really nice pricesss, I wanna get me some of those plushies now! 😭
haha thank you! I definitely try and make sure people with all budgets are able to purchase from me!
you should come back! i did do finn creek as a market once! i also really love your plushies!
I’m hoping I can come back next year!
I love your items! All so cute!. Do you mind please sharing where you got the cute little house for your chickens? :)
Thanks! Sadly I got it on sale from Hobby Lobby (I don’t love purchasing items from them as they are antiLGBTQ+)
Oh My Gosh I need to make me some broody hens like that. ADORABLE. Did you make the roost or buy it somewhere?
haha thank you! I got the roost on clearance from Hobby Lobby a while back!
hi! I love your content and I was curious how you found a market to sell at? Im new to crocheting and planning on making an etsy shop but I also want to know how to find markets!
Thank you so much! I joined a ton of facebook groups that only post about vendor events!
Hi! Where did you get your cute display for your chickens? 🥰
Hi! I got it on clearance at Hobby Lobby! I saw another creator got one and I went and got it too! I usually don’t like supporting Hobby Lobby due to their anti-LGBTQ+ and other values I disagree with.
I think the prices are good 👍. I would definitely buy.
Thank you!
I want the duck in a dinosaur costume pleeeeeease! Too cute!
He was one of the first plushies that sold!
@@miss.a.crochet make another! I’ll pay for you to mail! ♥️
we shall see if I have time hahaha my semester has been crazy!
omg the mushroom, love ur plushies!💗
where can i get the pattern of the mushroom?
Thanks!
It’s a paid pattern by erins_crochetplushies on insta!
