- Well here is a RARE Treat....Off the success and interest in our Audio Cassette Video earlier.. I've gotten alot of responses from fellow GenXers. Several Tapes have come in and this... a SEALED Walkman from 1995 ( ahhh what a great year for me) So let's take a trip down memory lane... in 2020 with the Opening of a Sony Walkman, that is gonna taste air for the 1st time.

What a treasure! I haven't listened to a cassette for 17 years. I had a tape deck in my 2000 Honda Civic.
LOL- I had one in my mom's handme down 88 Nova ( which was a Toyota Corolla).. Had to use that tape adapter for Discman..it would skip whenever you hit a bump.. When i got the 96 Civic EX I installed a Sony CD Headunit... But see, ALOT of Tapes got messed up because we didnt know better and leave tapes in HOT car or in sunlight. But on the flip side, Ive been finding ALOT of Tapes that where made at end of Cassette life OR in a collectors house and ALOT of them are still great.
Mine still works
I just discovered this channel... wow 80s comics and tech.. I actually took your advise and starting to collect cassettes ... I was able to score a Walkman on ebay and it finally arrived... Great advise and a cheap hobby
11:14 its not a CD its a cassette tape!
Thanks ..
My dad just gave me his 1995 walkman wm-fx221 and It's not turning on. I put batteries and still not turning on.
It maybe the tiny “belt” inside... remember tis was mechanical not digital era of things With chips.. either search on CZcams or find a guy who can fix .. don’t junk it
Hey Victoria, Have you got it repaired? Thanks.
@@thestoryteller12345 Nope not yet, I've been super busy lately. Thanks for asking!
Ah, okay, Facing the same problem! Thanks for the reply.
Nice find bro!!
I know.. I was so happy. With outdated Tech, they arent gonna make a new one and the people that CAN fix are gone.... So its great to have a backup so I can enjoy for the 2nd half of my life without worrying.. LOL I can see myself in a Nursing Home with this..
@@new2vero2 hahaha
I was 2 years when this Walkman came out
Hunter Tomlin LoL.. thank you for making me feel old ! Feel free to sub and check my other Retro vids .. It’s always cool to listen to those that actually went thru a time period. I also enjoy hearing stuff from 50s 60s / early 70s ... it’s kinda amazing we walk around with all this tech in our pocket ... buttt sometimes the ol stuff is better and if you see my video on Minidisc.. I still think it’s superior to streaming for iheart or pandora .. and was a musician during my college days
our good Friend Joemotion ( below comment) got me to add.. Of ALL the Retro platforms.. If I walk into Walmart or Publix with the Walkman THAT gets sooooooo much reaction. People have stopped me asking questions.. Mostly our Gen or Baby Booms... the ones below us give you that Puzzled look (as if they are missing out on something NEW) .. You guys know, Im a former Metal/Rock Bassist... I enjoy collecting Music as much as Retro Toys/Games.. Rebuilding my Music Collection because ( I TOO made the HUGE mistake of selling my Albums or transfering onto an Ipod).. As I said in previous Video, Its inexpensive ( $1) for CDs at Goodwill and its FUN to go around and Hunt .. Plus the JOY and CONNECTION one gets from holding a physical Media Vs downloading.
