In one regard I applaud Trumpeter for its array of modeling subjects yet by the same token I'm one of their biggest critics. Detail-wise they just can't seem to get anything right!!
Of course Trumpeter isn't alone; Other Chinese model makers have dropped a few turds as well and charged a hefty price to boot. After my experience with Trumpeter over 10 years ago with their $100 F-105D kit plus having to spend another $120 on correction sets, photoetch, etc. to dress it up I'm not so fast to pull my wallet out again without checking the reviews first.
If they're good-I'll buy, mixed-maybe but if they're bad no way!
There uss Texas and hood are really bad in terms of accuracy. How every there 1/350 iwo Jima isn't terrible
@@acescalemodeling It's quite clear that these Chinese model manufacturers aren't doing their homework yet they have no problem charging a hefty price thinking we'll swallow anything they throw at us! It's not that hard to research a subject and besides you have the world wide web at your fingertips! When it comes to research these Chinese companies are either flat out ignoring it, half-assing it or both.
Not to mention there P-47 kits, cockpit for a D-23 Razorback is identical to their P-47 "N". Corrugated floor and all! And as you say $100 + per kit! Trash! Now they sell for about $60.00. Plus NOONE YET sells a corrected pit. What a waste of plastic
