“Steve McQueen stars in it. No one else could.”
Ain’t that the truth.
I love that.
My dad made this trailer with Steve Mcqueen (Solar Productions & Cinema Center Films)
Enjoy
This film made me love Le Mans and endurance racing in America!
This has the most incredible racing footage I've ever seen in a film because it's all real. I can imagine how dreadful this movie would be if made today with all the CGI cars and crashes they'd use.
Le Mans 66 / Ford vs Ferrari - only 1 CGI car crash...allegeedly
Kevin Wells there’s a few but overall still very good
depends fury road used live stunts which made it great even in fast and furious there was some live stunts even if they use a lot of CG....
Ken miles is my most favourite le mans racer
@@shirryuitugaming3958 Grand Prix - 1966 with James Garner is just as intense...
This trailer contains 65% of the film's dialogue
😂😂.....that's the truth
@@splina6086 oh lol, I just liked my own comment without realizing it was my comment 😂
@@sparra3819 LOL
Steve, McQueen never did say much
I personally learned that his words were true. " Racing is life! Anything before, or after...is just waiting". Truer words were never spoken when you're a racer.
McQueen nailed it with this one .
Legend .
The greatest racing movie of all time, even though this film lost money, it was iconic, and my favorite. A lot of life lessons in this movie that totally went unnoticed by viewers.
The greatest movie about racing ever.
Have you ever seen Grand Prix - 1966 starring James Garner?
It's just as awesome to see and hear.
Le Mans - 1971 was created meant to be experienced upon the big silver screen. The cinematography and sound design for this movie are amazing to see and hear.
The very similar and earlier car racing movie Grand Prix - 1966 starring James Garner is actually just as awesome and in some ways even better, with its amazing uses of multiple image split screen effects.
I just recently watched Ford vs Ferrari then I got on Amazon and bought Le Mans which I watched for the first time while serving in Okinawa in 1973. It was great then and it is great now.
Ford v Ferrari is very similar to this movie
The golden era of racing,
I just saw Le Mans on TV today. Seen it before, and have always liked it because McQueen extends his repertoire of tough guy characters to that of an auto racer. That's what I liked about McQueen. He loved to take chances fearlessly. Both on and off the screen. Miss him dearly.
This is a 2001: A Space Odyssey of motor sports, awesome movie a little different from what we are used to see now and in my opinion the ultimate homage to the world of automobile racing. Only a few movies (like the 2013 Rush) depict the atmosphere and the whole "trade" in such a realistic and almost documentary way but I'd say that this one is the best of them by far.
Rush was amazing
@@rajv9732 I just got a boner
werid thing about rush it all ture. hollywood could never wirte flim like rush
Grand Prix from 1966 is also a great movie if you like Le Mans.
Gaetan Massun Grand Prix shares LeMans as 2001 of motorsports movies
When I first saw this, I didn't realize I'd be so into it.I've seen it four times since It would be on the top of my list to watch in a 7.1 surround sound setting.
defo deserves a cinema
55 Cars...!
110 drivers...!
Fire Proof Underwear...!
No Trash...!
Sounds like fun...!
Opened 50 years ago today!
Ha , saw this in the cinema 50 years ago !
I just finished this film. It was very exciting.
when a 3 minutes trailer is more exciting that the whole Formula 1 season... (sighs)
hahahhahahaha
biggest true ever in the comments
My Dad took me to see this in 1971.
Laughed at Steve McQueen giving Seigfried Rausche the two fingers at the end.
“Le mans. Steve McQueen stars in it … because no one else could”
Truth.
They showed up, started filming the racing on day 1 but McQueen hadn't even written a script
Everyone in Hollywood does that - its no surprise. basically, they just collect materials, there's no need for a script to do that.
@@alexsharp9813 wrong they started production without it since it was steve doing his movie his way
@@reneroux2391 I mean, it's just sloppy filmmaking. Mad Max Fury Road didn't have a script either, but managed to be one of the greatest action films ever made because it was executed properly.
Awesome trailer!
great movie. My wife didn't last thru it, but I can't wait to see it again.
Gaaaah! I've gotten 1/3 way through, taken me 3 weeks lol.
First Time I Saw So Good Motor Racing Movie !!

this and rush 2 best racing films of all time
That is fast even for today
This was the very beginning of the supercar era. Before this there was just wire wheels and starched scarves
True my friend.
These were the Real Machines.

Steve McQueen. Underneath your radar screen. Faster than a speeding Bullet.
A Solar Production. McQueen lived on Solar Drive above Hollywood. I used to jog on that street and wonder what house was his.
who else see this after watching ford v ferrari ? 😬
Ye
Moi. :D
lol same
I'm here after seeing Steve McQueen stunt in The Towering Inferno.
Course seen Ford v Ferrari helped😁
In my opinion this is the more RAW and pure of the two
Pure racing
im just sitting here, ,,, waiting....🏁
That 917 went flying!
That was the #7 Ferrari.
The GT 40 he drove sold for $11,000,000. a few years back. Sm sure it's worth more now.
Im waiting for le mans '66'
Ford v Ferrari was missing Steve McQueen.
Had to come watch this after hearing Ed Norton on Rogan.
Look like the Woodstock movie but with actors replacing the actual musicians
hear after Rogan and Maher
McQueen stood alone at the top
Does anybody know where the 2nd scene of the Le Mans movie was shot?. The one in which Delaney drives down the narrow avenue in his 911

Do you probably know where exactly the 2nd scene of the Le Mans movie was shot?. The one in which Delaney drives down the narrow avenue in his 911
Probably Disney’s inspiration for Cars 2006.
2:05 Also, does anyone know if Siegfried Rauch is speaking with his own voice or is he dubbed? Because I can’t hear his German accent.
Fun fact. Siegfried Rauch also plays Schroeder in The Big Red One 1980.
Who else can’t wait for the “ Ford vs Ferrari “ movie ?
I do
What do you thought of it ?
1000 Times faster than current Williams it was great mon ! Loved it
@@vladimiralvarez1162 Yeah you are absolutely Right
The real stars of this movie were the ferrari 512 and porsche 917.
Elford and siffert
That's how McQueen wanted it.
Why does this trailer show so many split screen effects? When the movie itself doesn't even use any!
в главной роли стив маккуин и porsche 917

At 1:57 the lady journalist is say nurburing as in nurburgring is it related well yes because interest historical fact that the 24 hours of le mans on that day is a part of the championship and its called the World Sportscar Championship organized and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile or International Automobile Federation FIA in short it was created in 1953 the championship races features 24 hours of daytona, 12 hours of sebring, targa florio, 1000kms of spa, nurburgring, monza, 6 hours of Watkins Glen and of course the 24 Hours of Le Mans but sadly in 1992 was the final season for the championship due to high cost and the rise of unpopularity of the group c and the championship rounds to be held as well but the Automobile Club de l'Ouest or ACO in short will take over the Sportscar regulations But 19 years later in 2011 the ACO and the FIA came to the agreement to formed championship after the success of the intercontinental le mans cup and its called the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC in short) its inaugural running event was started in 2012 12 hours of Sebring alongside with IMSA ALMS so the FIA WEC is the de facto successor of the FIA World Sportscar Championship.
There was 2000% more dialogue in the trailer than in the film
This is how movies are supposed to be made, using real cars on real tracks going real fast! Most of todays movies are a complete joke, imagine having todays 4k camera technology and resorting to dumb cheesy cgi cars, so stupid!
a bizarre film. it's oddly seductive, but the actual execution of the movie leaves a lot to be desired.
What a boring trailer with picture in picture all the time.
